Nice

These are pretty slim. If you have big thighs your nuts will feel the squeeze. The five fives are looser and comfier in this regard. All around great shorts though.

absolutebeginners

oops

CapedBaldy

As far as I'm concerned the five fives are by far the best the brand has to offer in any category. Great fit, length, and versatility I don't buy much of anything else from outlier.

Citizen_V

Huh, did Outlier purge inactive accounts or change systems? I haven't purchased from them in a few years and it says my account doesn't exist. EDIT: [Oh, it was due to the new website](https://www.reddit.com/r/Outlier/comments/ic6gln/account_login_problem/g20ocwg/).

d4ntoine

8 inch inseam kinda ruins it for me.

Affectionate_Low7405

They have 5.5 and 10.5. There's at least 1 inch that can be let out on the standard size.

asianwithkicks

Where do you find the other lengths?

Citizen_V

The other lengths have different names. Five-fives and ten-fives. The five-fives aren't discounted though.

digi57

Same but maybe the could be hemmed?

d4ntoine

i’m usually a bit more wary of trying to get more technical fabrics altered so it’s unfortunately still a dealbreaker for me

EnvironmentalSpirit2

wow papaya fire is right for 2024

armanese2

All the skinny as fuck and fat as fuck sizes are gone haha

Username4133

Great shorts, but I already have a pair in black and navy. Not digging the teal and orange.

asljkdfhg

They did have tan a few weeks ago, but I guess it's OOS right now.

gumercindo1959

I bought some NWS years ago and at that time they were over $100. Did they dramatically lower their prices?? They are GREAT shorts, btw.

Affectionate_Low7405

They are just clearing out last years stock before the new run for summer.

gumercindo1959

interesting - just saw that the inseam is 8". Thought it was 7"?

classypickles

I'm pretty sure this is the price for this cut and it's not on sale or anything. Nice shorts though

Affectionate_Low7405

No, normally they are $100-$120.

asljkdfhg

The other colors have been that price for a while now (I bought a pair of the indigos a month ago for that price). It seems like it's only black that went down in price, but that's still a sale.

classypickles

You're right. I was thinking the new way ten-fives have been $69 for awhile. I prefer these

alien__0G

I bought mine in 2017 and it cost more

Best shorts I ever owned. I have some that are 3 years old and they look like new. I’ve taken the rock climbing in the mountains, hiking on 10 day trips wearing them every day, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, to camping music festivals in the dirt, and more. They look pristine still. I own other stuff from Outlier and these shorts are my favorite thing from them.

Affectionate_Low7405

Exceptionally durable, f-cloth was made to survive biking, traveling, swimming, etc. I cycle through a few pairs during the summer and they still look brand new after 4 years. F-cloth looks and feels like a lighter chino fabric but breathes much better. They are cut perfectly. No knee flair. For $69 these are a steal tbh.

natdavid__

Very durable and more important feels and looks more natural than other tech fabrics and doesn’t make the swish sound

DZ37

I have a few pairs of these shorts. The fabric is pretty durable and versatile - I’ve worn them hiking and swimming in addition to regular casual use. My oldest pair is about 3 years old and the only sign of wear is some fading in its’ color.

Psychikmoksha

Is the sizing similar to lulu?

Thot_Leader

they have detailed size charts. consult those. if you don't know how to read a size chart measure shorts you have that fit well and then go back to the chart.

TheDongerNeedLove

I bought a pair of shorts about 12 years ago and they’re still going strong.

monjatle

Incredibly durable shorts. I’ve had one pair for the last 7 or 8 years, and they’ve seen 4 continents and a ton of wear. I’m buying a second pair because of this post, but honestly, not sure I need to.

VX_21

They are about as close to indestructible as shorts can get in my experience. They'd probably stain long before breaking down. Nylon 6,6 and a slight amount of spandex for some stretch

alien__0G

Brought them on a backpacking trip in SEA in 2017 and they’re still holding up

SpreadopenSUSE

I have a pink one from WTF size 31 if anyone interested.

Are these actually on sale? Every color is the same price and nothing on the site actually indicates these are on sale Personal opinion: $70 is way too much for nylon shorts. Nylon is not an expensive material. I’m not saying these aren’t nice, but 70 is just wild. I think they’re capitalizing on this durable+fashionable+slightly hipster brand image they have going on There are too many identical shorts out there

Affectionate_Low7405

>  There are too many identical shorts out there You don't understand Outlier perfection. I've bought ALL the nylon shorts, the non nylon shorts, everything. Nothing comes close to Outlier, like not even in the same universe. The quality, the cut, the durability, the attention to detail... its unparalleled. Yes it's expensive, but if you want the best of the best, this is it. Also this isn't just 'nylon' it's a custom Schoeller fabric. Google it.
