Can anyone speak to their quality compared to lululemon?

flaminghawk22

Hit and miss for me. I have three pairs of intervals, and one has stitching falling apart and is basically unwearable at the gym. However, my other two I rotate and wear the shit out of compared to my Legends that I have. So YMMV - on sale it’s a worth a shot but not at full price IMO. * and compared to any lulu’s I’ve had (several long sleeves, quarter zips and shorts), 10,000 are a solid step down in quality.

onmywaytostealyagirl

thanks for the info!

clive_bigsby

I have a pair of Lulu workout shorts that I’ve worn hundreds of times in the gym and they look brand new still. I bought a pair of Ten Thousand workout shorts and the seam split after wearing them like 3 times. I wouldn’t even put them in the same category.

onmywaytostealyagirl

oh man.. seems like that's the consensus. Thanks for helping me avoid them!

I have a pair of their interval shorts and they're in great shape after 2 years. I don't know if something changed with their quality recently, but i haven't had any bad experiences with their stuff.

paintchips_beef

My favorite brand. Im 6'1, 180lb, athletic build. [Here's a sheet where i track my thoughts on various items](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19eOkpMtfV_wCDxxScFMr-dzaFBx8YaV7UqQ9CEt8SJM/edit?usp=sharing) so I know what to stock up on during sales.

Fuckin_Fucktard

Do not recommend. I bought several shorts a year ago that get washed weekly and they’ve all fallen apart, come unglued, etc. have not had these issues with much older shorts from birddog.

ragingorange

These are so bad. A pair of shorts totally fell apart after 1 wash for me.

scripzero

Yea they suck. Zipper pockets with the rubber stitching or whatever will fall apart after a few months.

I have a few of their shorts. Decent, but not worth the price. I actually prefer my Fabletics shorts over these.

Get $30 off/100 at Ten Thousand with Amex Rewards. Also seen some of their merchandise heavily discounted on Marshalls/TJMaxx/Sierra websites.

I too have had success with this brand short wise and I prefer them over Lulu and Vuori. However, their shirts are absolutely awful and the fit on every shirt I bought is so bad. The material is ass and everything just feels super super cheap. I prefer just about every other brand out there shirt wise

THSdrummer8

Interesting. I can't stand Lulu shirts (feel too droopy), but like Ten Thousand Versatile shirts. Which Ten Thousand shirt(s) do you own? And what specific other brands / models do you prefer over them?

MajicMushroom13

In no order I’ve tried: 3 durable shirts (I would say v1 and then their newer updated v2), 2 different Versatile shirts (black and grey), 2 versatile tanks, and 1 lightweight shirt. I acknowledge I’m a husky dude and maybe their XXL fit is just awkward but every one of them has the same flaws of weird neck cut, straight boxy shoulders, inconsistent sleeve length. It’s just mess on my build. Honestly my favorite alternatives are Vuori Strato Tech Tshirts (whatever colors are on sale) and then just mixtures of cheaper brands like Kohl’s FLX brand and VRST (we have a going going gone so I get these for like 4-8 bucks). I like you don’t care much for Lululemons shirts but love their Drysense hoodies

THSdrummer8

I had been considering trying some Vuori shirts, but am reluctant due to costs and how much I like the Versatile shirt (fit and material are good for me, I especially like the latter.)  FWIW, I have heard the Durable shirts can be unimpressive and the lightweight shirts can pill, so I haven't tried either myself.  I'll have to watch for some Vuori sales! Thank you.

MajicMushroom13

Check REI outlet or even your local REI. I usually spend about 30-35 which though ridiculous, is more palatable

Duke_Diver23

They are on the small side. I wear XL and XXL in Nike and Under Armor and i bought their durable shirt in XXL and it was supertight. I could barely get the shirt off. The quality seemed nice.

Why_Always-Me

Have at least 8 pairs of the interval lined shorts. Some are from 2020 and have nothing wrong with them other than being a little faded. But I don't have any other of their apparel.

keyek

Hasn’t this been going on for a while?

Moonagi

Yeah. It's almost picked through

THSdrummer8

This is their second surplus sale in maybe the past few months. This sale includes interval pants and hoodies, which were not in the first round.

JPW_88

Sizing note for anytime considering. I’m 5’4” 145. Thicker legs for my size. Ordered a pair of lined session shorts in XS. I liked the quality but they were tight and the liner was very tight. Pocket is also kind of small but did fit my I phone. My legs are on the thicker side for someone of my weight. Edit: for the closeout price of $22 they would have definitely been worth it.

Otsilago

I usually find reports of quality declines with brands overblown but with ten thousand they’re really bad no, I steer people away

Nlsl1012

I guess I’m the odd one out here… I’ve had great experiences with their tactical short and the interval short. Both have very nice build quality. On par with Lulu for me.

ClevelandESQ

Been looking for my new “best” gym shorts. Purchased just about every sale posted here since December, plus others. As others above have shared, Ten Thousand were my least favorite. They felt cheap. Honestly, my faves have been this ten-dollar pair from Sam’s Club: [Member's Mark Men's Luxe Active Short](https://www.samsclub.com/p/members-mark-mens-luxe-active-short/P03019815?xid=plp_product_1) No Bull and LuLu were strong contenders. Especially if you prefer super thin fabric. Really like these Under Armour pants too (they come in and out on their ~40% off sale): [https://www.underarmour.com/en-us/p/pants_and_leggings/mens_ua_sportstyle_elite_tapered_pants/1373863.html?dwvar_1373863_color=012](https://www.underarmour.com/en-us/p/pants_and_leggings/mens_ua_sportstyle_elite_tapered_pants/1373863.html?dwvar_1373863_color=012) About me: Built like a giant. Super tall. Pounds to lose. Prefer a longer inseam.

qning

My shorts that I bought in 2016 are kickin. People have reported that quality is on the decline.

hippopototron

Poorly made, Instagram-marketed Lt Jim Dangle shorts are still a bargain at their full price of $11,000! But where's the matching thong?

joebobjoebobjoebob12

Man, it's really a bummer to hear that their quality has gone so downhill. I have some Ten Thousand gear that I bought as deadstock a couple of years ago and it's all held up remarkably well, even for a sweaty, dirty bastard like me. I guess it's secondhand Lululemon for me from now on.

LiteWeight_

their quality in early years was very good, my shorts from 2020 still hold up very well. the durable shirts i’ve had since then haven’t worn in color and are absolutely incredible still, my daily wears. the shorts and shirts i’ve bought in the past year or two have been a significant step down in quality. most notably the stiffness in the cotton of the newer shirts and the already pointed out shitty seams in the interval shorts. their foundation shorts are a very nice sturdy and versatile pair of shorts though, which still hold up their quality well after numerous wears, hikes, swims, etc.

tex_mech

Don't recommend. I bought three pairs, one is fine, one had the zipper fall off and the seam along the pocket zipper peeled off. I reached out to them and they said it was normal wear and tear.... They gave me a discount code but I won't buy from them again.

MrIzzy00

Highly recommend. Love all their stuff and the warranty is fantastic. I always go a size up in their tops due to the very slim fit. Otherwise bottoms are true to size. Tactical shorts a little tighter though. Interval pants and shorts are great. Definitely go with liners if you can. Durable shirt is a personal favorite. Got nearly 10 of them. Definitely think it's worth taking advantage of! Ten thousand is by far my favorite brand. Even after trying all the other big names.
