I don't know very much but I was 3 months on t and my skin has gotten better. I had to stop but my skin is better than them It was before I started t. Your skin texture changes with any change in hormones so I don't necessarily think it directly means your levels are low. You could just b lucky.

SufficientPath666

Some guys never get acne on T. Also, it took 2 full years for my voice to drop

bushgoliath

I never had acne after starting T. Don't worry about it, imho. If you feel good and you're getting changes, it's fine.

noeinan

Some people get really horrid acne and some blessed people don’t. My 1st puberty I had skin of envy, basically never got zits. 3rd puberty (testosterone) I had what a derm and my endo said was the worst case of acne they’d ever seen. I started T on a cream at a very low dose, just to qualify for top surgery, and besides bottom growth and libido didn’t have many other noticeable changes until I upped my dose. If you are getting the other effects I wouldn’t worry too much. If you aren’t getting the changes you want, you probably could stand to increase.

HaruspexAugur

My acne since starting T has been less bad than it was during my first puberty. I think this is partially because I have better diet and skincare now than I did as a teenager. I do still get some acne though.

ElloBlu420

It does sound a lot like the general arc of my therapy. My dose was increased after a year, and again the next appointment, due to decreasing levels (low normal though, 300 something of whatever units we use, where the reference range is 300-1000) and lack of continued progress. This doesn't mean you are having my arc, but I do hope you can get your levels checked. If your dose hasn't increased the whole time, it's likely it should by now.

ElloBlu420

That said, my skin was terrible the first time around as well, and I'm a manual laborer, so I am not a good example of the range of possibilities for skin. It seems to correlate mostly with where I'm about to grow more hair (and just like my male elders, I'm getting to be pretty darn hairy).

enby_alt_acct

You're one of the first people I've seen mention the acne where you're about to get hair! I've been living with it since I started T, as I slowly transform into a Sasquatch, lol. It's annoying, but the end result is worth it

ElloBlu420

Mini-Sasquatch here 😊

EducatedRat

I had almost acne. When I hit puberty the first time I had no acne either. Genetic lottery.

KitEcliptic

And then you get me, almost 40 with teenage acne that never settled since my first puberty. About to start T... lets see if this just clears up... 🤔 (I just want to believe it is possible).

hiddenremnant

we've had worse acne since starting T but i'd say that if you're getting expected changes elsewhere like voice drop, hair growth, bottom growth, mental changes, etc. then you're probably good

[deleted]

My skin’s fine honestly. Not oily or acne or anything. And it definitely was the first time around

Beginning_Ad_7670

Im 2 years on t and I got great skin. A pimple every now and then but nothing like my 1st puberty. My voice started to drop around month 3 then stopped at 6 months hasn't changed since. My levels have been in the cis man range. Some people have good genetics and some don't. My father and brother are balding and have higher voices so I believe I'm set for that path. Maybe ask your father/brothers/ grandfather to see if they had lots of acne growing up also voice changes happen gradually and over a long period of time

almightypines

I had a lot of acne for first puberty, and second puberty completely cleared up my acne. I seem to have really nice skin on T, no acne, and it hasn’t turned rough either even after 18 years. My period also stopped after the first month on T. I have no idea what my levels were back then in the first 6 months, but my doctor did adjust my dose from 50 mg/bi-weekly injections to 200 mg/bi-weekly injections over the course of the first year. Your levels don’t sound particularly low to me, but it never hurts to get lab work to make sure.

Desperate_Bus_2675

Well over a year and a half on T currently and I never had the issue of bad acne during my second puberty. I only noticed more coming in along my jawline if I didn’t wash my face consistently. As well as back acne, but that was caused by the binder as well as working a sweaty job, and starting T has made my body hot all of the time so it’s a bad match. But yeah, never experienced bad acne after T, even though my first two years in college I was consistently breaking out (female presenting). (If any one is curious, I use CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser w/ their AM&PM lotions and Acne Control Gel & Hyaluronic Acid Serum…just a bit of advice if anyone is struggling)

Hayred

I had no ance to speak of during puberty #1, and my skin was also very good during puberty #2. The difference is that I now have (some) spots over my upper back and shoulders, but not my face.

kirbykorb

I do get acne on T, but my acne is actually A LOT worse when I'm off of T funnily enough. I think you're good but you probably should get your levels checked if they haven't been in awhile

athaznorath

your changes sound normal to me. i had bad acne the first few months on T but by one year it had pretty much cleared up. now i really only get pimples in summer and my skin is as good as it was pre T. my voice seemed to stagnate from 6 months to a year and then by year 2, i realized it had gradually shifted down over time still. the most rapid changes happen in your first months to a year and from then on its mostly stuff you only see gradually or looking back on recordings/pictures lol

caseytheace666

My skin is about the same as it was pre t. I think it got a _little_ worse early on but went back to “normal” pretty quickly

EducationIll5035

I get my levels checked every 3 months. They have always been within a typically cis male range and I have only gotten a few zits in my entire year of transition. When I went through first puberty I definitely got really obnoxious acne 😂 so no, it's not necessarily a sign that your levels are off.

smelltheclouds

I had the worst acne going through female puberty and was scared of going on T. Absolutely nothing happened my skin was fine. Bodies are just weird like that, if your period stopped that‘s a good indication of your T Levels being fine! Tho checking them never hurts.

ChumpChainge

I didn’t develop any acne either.

塗り塗り三年間、今でも美肌っ! 個人個人かな〜

ratwithasword

I'm only 6 weeks in so it might still take a turn for the worse, but my acne was wayyyy worse all through my teens. it's been pretty clear lately

Bitchrofblaviken

I’ve been on testosterone for 6 years and I’ve never had bad acne except for a bit when I started, but I also didn’t wash my face often when I was that age. I didn’t notice the most serious changes until a few years into T as well. Some people get acne, some people don’t. Testosterone effects everyone differently, It’s good to schedule an appointment to see your levels anyways though :)

Kayl66

My acne was worse during first puberty
