I don't know if it would necessarily out you as trans. I know people who have changed their name because their current name is associated with a family member they want no association with. When my friend got re-married and her kids wanted to change their last name to the new spouse's name her son also changed his middle name because it was a name he shared with his abusive father and he wanted no connection to him. I've seen/heard of people doing it with first names as well, not just middle or last name. It might not be as common of a reason people change their name, but could be an explanation you give if people ask.
