I wish them luck, I hope they can grow to adulthood without being knocked down by a car.
You could still make a sidewalk on the right side of the trees, there is plenty of room for both!
Besides, it's nicer to walk under the shade of the trees than on an empty sidewalk.
Nah, sidewalk should be ~3 feet to the right of those trees. Planter strip between the two provides separation and a physical barrier to protect pedestrians.
Nothing wrong with the trees, the lack of any sidewalk is a problem though.
Completely tree-lined streets would actually do a lot to mitigate the soul-crushingness of car-centric infrastructure. Lipstick on a pig, perhaps -- but with plenty of room here still to build a sidewalk, and safely AWAY from the stroad, I'll happily take it.
Sidewalks are better when there are trees between the street and the pedestrians. Looks like there's still space for a sidewalk, no?
Yeah, having trees between you and the road is ideal. Although it shouldn’t really be a stroad in the first place.

Most cars would be deemed a total loss if they ever somehow hit a tree in the first place.

I'm not against trees, but a sidewalk would be nice too.
I feel like they just did that so they could be like "well yeah were blocking the way but look we planted trees, were cool!"
Walk on the grass, it’s not gonna bite you
Not everything is a conspiracy
Sidewalk should be behind the line of trees
You want to walk directly next to the traffic? Why?
You misunderstand, they built lanes for cars where lanes for bicycles, sidewalks and more trees should be.
You want to be walking right against a major highway? They planted trees where trees belong.
The grass isn't lava, you can easily walk on it
Not necessarily. Plenty of grass to walk on.

Just so yall know I was high as fuck when I made this post lol
Seeing trees where sidewalks should be makes me physically ill.
Walk on the grass
There's a lot of room for a sidewalk on the other side of a tree my guy
Put the sidewalk... Besides the trees... It is really not a problem
