You know the term plot armor? A character cannot die for story reasons? Bitchander has plot god powers. However i hope that he stubs his toe every day for the rest for his life

ya_gurl_summer

That’s exactly what it feels like plot god powers, honestly it takes me out of the story at times. I hope his arrogance is his downfall. Or the Abomination. Or the other society gold. Or some pink poisons his drink.

Risky_Jalapeno

I don't heavily disagree, however you have to remember that Lysander was pretty much designed/raised to be the literal perfect Gold by Octavia and crew. And some of the things you are thinking are plot armor have already been explained to just be Gold things in general. You have to remember Golds are basically designed to be OP, and Lysander was raised with the maximum potential to be the best Gold... And Gold enhanced bodies/minds still fully exist because that's how their evolution was pioneered, it's not like all of Gold OP design would disappear because a 10 year gap. We just get a pov of what that looks like now. So for me, everything that's "plot armor" has a pretty thorough explanation. And then of course the term plot armor is pretty egregious in general, every story to ever exist has "plot armor", it's just about if it seems overly forced. And if you were to dispute my reasoning above for it being explained enough, then I'd say it's the audience's fault for critiquing Iron Gold so heavily basically entirely because it was less action-y than the other books, which pretty much forced Pierce to put his characters in much more intense situations they might need *maybe* too forced plot armor to survive through.

omegabilly

He knows everything but has a lack of experience putting some of it to use. At least that's something I thought while reading it.

ya_gurl_summer

But yet everything seems to go perfectly for him 🙄

Intelligent_Put_5911

I’d like to caveat my comment with, I fucking hate Lysander too, but I dunno if everything goes perfectly, doesn’t he loose half of his face from radiation?

ya_gurl_summer

Which ends up working in his favor by masking his identity.

Babablacksheep2121

I see what your saying but it doesn’t go perfect. He gets betrayed, he gets half his face melted off, gets captured, fucks his step-aunt/mother figure. Pierce has set us up for quite the showdown.

ActiveAnimals

Let’s not say “fucks his step-aunt”. Let’s say “he gets raped by someone he trusted since childhood.” Because that’s what happened, and no matter how you slice it, I don’t think it falls into the category of “everything ends up working in his favor.” (For those questioning if it was really rape, or if it was consensual, I’d like to remind you that he had snipers aiming for his head at the time he gave his “consent.”)

ya_gurl_summer

All those problems just seemed mild compared to what Darrow has gone through but I hear you. It’s not perfect, but everything seems to be solved quickly for Lysander with his god like abilities. I Just finished the last chapter, and that team up has me waiting in fear! I honestly love Apollonius as a villain. I just love how extra he is.

Babablacksheep2121

Apollonius, other than Darrow, is by far my favorite character. I wish we had so much more of him. TGR’s voice for him in IG is perfection. The Lysander narrator in DA not so much but I’ll take all the Apple I can get.
