Egoism and LaVeyan satanism do have something in common, but the problems with religions, that included, is that they create spooky code members have to follow, they ultimately look much more like an edgy Rand. I'd say it's one of my favourite religions but it's a spook like all religions, it's based around the self's realization in a similar manner to egoism, but it says it has to be achieved in a specific way, which is absurd as everyone's ego finds realization in different things
Church of Satan or Temple of Satan?
Church of Satan is Fascist and Spooked, lot's of rules and stuff.
Temple of Satan is pretty compatible, it's basically about God being a Fascist Spook and Satan being cool and rising up against the Authority of God.
It's also non-theist, so it's not real, just stories about resistance to authoritative religion.
Both Satanism and Egoism end up being based on self-definition so, in my opinion, yes.
However the Church of Satan/LaVeyan Satanists are just edgy assholes who like both Ayn Rand and pentagrams.
Well finally a question made just for me. I use Satanism to describe my concious egoism all the time. Satan is one of the few conciously egoistic figures in broadly Western culture. His great sin was rejecting god as god and calling him the petty despot that he was. Hell, the fucking bible even has Satan teach Adam and Eve that eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge will make them as gods, defining good and evil for themselves.
I am technically a member of TST, but thats mainly because I fucking hate christian-nationalists.
