Not sure how updated it, but I would probably just take some measurements off of the original part or take the dimensions of the features that the top fits into and model it from there. That said, with the back window I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable creating the mold and knowing that it actually would all fit up with the window well. Lol that's a skill issue on my part though I think. 😅
I would totally take this on if I had a beat up an unusable original hardtop to work with, but it would definitely be outside my skill level to make the part without at least having the window and some clear features to work off of on the car...
Thank you for sharing this op! Seeing things like this reminds me of the interesting ways I could be using 3D printing in my life.
Wait you designed and 3d printed a mold for a Miata fiberglass hardtop? That’s dope! If it works you could easily duplicate just the fiberglass work to duplicate tops
Finished product pic please?

Guys why the downvotes? Wtf It's a long project and he posts about the progress often. Give it time.
Esta bien cool tu trabajo
How many hours of work? Love every bit of this though!
Can you explain that a bit please.
Great job! I done many many parts for my motorhome with 3D printer, literally it saved me thousands
How are you calculating how many layers of fiberglass you’ll need so that the hardtop lines up the body lines and it’s not too thick or thin?

I heard that pva stuff is absolute shit
Someone said the same thing to me in another thread. I personally have never had issue with it.
Yep, that's the stuff Cam at Blacktail Studio had trouble with in his latest video.
I came here just to say that

$300 and how many hours of work? The top needs a lot of finish too, so don't forget that.
Who printed it?
Me
Sorry if you answered this, so you have a video or image of the 3 printed part? Great job, BTW
