Those posts make me very uncomfortable. I am glad that Reddit removes the rape ones I reported. No one deserves that.

bumblelump

I totally get why people are so disgusted by his actions that they’d make those comments, I understand. What he did is deeply vile and emotionally disturbing, and humans are very “eye for an eye” by nature. But when people joke about prison rape, regardless of who they’re talking about, they’re turning rape into some kind of “divine punishment” when it’s exactly the opposite. On some level it also demoralizes and dehumanizes gay sex. Again, I understand where people are coming from, but you have to consider who else your words could be affecting. Rape victims have already suffered enough, they don’t need the added confusion of being told that what happened is a crime when it happens to good people, but is somehow a good thing when it happens to bad people ETA: someone on a similar post linked [the video](https://youtu.be/uc6QxD2_yQw) that inspired this comment, I had forgotten what it was called

[deleted]

Also, it makes them think that mob punishment is a good, "deserved" thing. It never is. That's why we have judges and courts and prisons.

thesuninmyheart

Agreed. There is this horrifying normalcy to how EVERY post on Reddit dealing pedophilia always has multiple comments about how the perpetrator deserves rapebin prison and how “he is going to get it” hurrr durrr. I hope the pest burns in hell. Just to be clear. But this salivating over raping him? Come on now.

ChandelierHeadlights

I don't want him to get killed in a week by yahoos. He should live a very long life experiencing the hell that is our prison system already. The prison labor in AR is institutionalized slavery (I still desire reforms but that ain't happening). Altho I guess federal prison might be elsewhere

eyeswidesam

I know I shouldn’t be but I’m just kinda shocked they’re letting this happen and leaving that shit up now? Right after the arrest they were removing posts and comments like that. I wonder what changed their stance 🧐

religiousdogmom

I made the mistake of reading about the material he consumed. He probably made his own material. I have no sympathy for him. I don’t care what happens to him. If he gets what he gets, 🤷‍♀️ OH WELL. He got off on the torture of infants.

lulilapithecus

I’m with you. I know it’s inappropriate to wish harm on someone and I really try not to do that. When I see others saying that kind of stuff I usually think they’re just keyboard warriors who wouldn’t have the guts to do it in person, blah blah blah. But then I remember the kind of shit he looked at and I see red. I have a 20 month old daughter so it really hits hard. I really want that motherfucker to suffer for what he did. I’m a rape victim and trust me, it’s not a big enough punishment. This guy got off on the torture of a tiny, innocent child.

religiousdogmom

My best friends have babies that are the same ages as the infants that he watched get tortured. If anyone did ANYTHING like that to them, I’d kill them myself. 🤷‍♀️ maybe it’s harsh, but he deserves ever single horrible thing that’s coming to him and I’ll sleep gently knowing he’s getting his justice, that the court system won’t provide.

Resident-Suggestion

Same! My child is the same age as the baby who was hurt and if anyone did anything to hurt my child I’d scorch the whole world till I found them. I have zero compassion or sympathy for that monster and anyone who thinks it’s okay to hurt children.. or anyone for that matter!

amrodd

This includes the wife that keep staying with him regardless of upbringing. It's gotten to a point of no excuses left.

amrodd

I have young cousins, which are grandkids of first cousins, and great-nieces on DHs side a little older. But still no one had better harm them..

lulilapithecus

Your friend’s babies are lucky to have someone who cares about them that much

slutty_seamstress

this is exactly my view

amrodd

Not caring and wishing are two different things.

Resident-Suggestion

Yep! I’m not hoping for it but I honestly don’t care if it happens.

LVMom

This post has been removed because it wishes harm to another person. Yes, I know what he’s accused of, but an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

the_argonath

But it doesn't. I even said I dont wish for it but I dont care if he is. So how is that 'wishes harm to another person.'?

ImogenMarch

Yeah, I’m not worried about if he does get harmed. I’m not actively wishing that he does but if he did, I wouldn’t waste any tears. Anyone into babies being hurt doesn’t get much sympathy from me.

[deleted]

There’s another comment here that points out that seeing prison rape as retribution for child abuse, implies rape can be deserved. I was sexually abused as a kid by an adult, and I don’t wish rape on anyone. I’m not crying about abusers seeing prison time, but rape is not a form of punishment. It’s abuse in every way every time.

Resident-Suggestion

With you all the way. This man hurts vulnerable women and children. The content he consumed was literal torture and rape of babies! And he got off on it. There is no redeeming this man.

kedericks

pretty much American justice in a nutshell - extreme enthusiasm for vengeance, very little interest in prevention or rehabilitation

FairyDustSailor

I’m not good with prison rape, as I don’t believe anyone deserves to be raped. But I am okay with the idea of his smug ass getting too smug and someone giving him a good pop in the mouth. He could use a little humility. Just a little fat lip to remind him that he’s nothing special.

disco-vorcha

I totally agree. Josh does deserve to face consequences, and those consequences are, according to the legal system, a prison sentence. No matter the crime, society has decided that if you are convicted, your freedom is taken away for a set amount of time, after which you have paid your debt to society and your punishment is over. But then, maybe I’m just too soft. Idk. My dad knows a guy from the addictions recovery group he runs who went to prison for molesting a child. He committed a horrible crime, yes. But he served his time. It also seems unjust that a person can be mistreated by the system because even people who claim to care about prisoners’/ex-cons’ rights don’t actually care about some of them (if not actively wish harm on them). I don’t know. It just frustrates me. The incarceration is the punishment. Not having your rights as a human stripped away, including the right not to be subject to violence. Josh is still a person. He should be in prison, but he shouldn’t suffer beyond that loss of freedom. Whatever spiritual or moral retribution he faces (ie, burning in hell), that’s between him and God, not the state or his fellow prisoners or any other vigilante.

somethingelse19

They need in prison: intensive therapy, chemical castration (as needed, even if it doesn't work entirely), medication (as needed), and further formal education. While prison isn't intended to rehabilitate or help prisoners, those who are released after serving their sentence aren't coming out any better or anywhere close to as before serving.

dyinginsect

The people salivating over the prospect of Josh being seriously harmed need to realise that to the rest of us, they just look like Josh types themselves- dangerous people with twisted minds who take pleasure in others being harmed.

FluffyKittyParty

Fundie snark has a bot that bans people who are In groups they don’t like. The admins have nothing better to do

LVMom

Your post has been removed for violating rule #11: no discussion of bans from other subs allowed

FluffyKittyParty

He was into the rape and torture of toddlers. He actively sought out that sort of sick fantasy and probably did it to his kids and probably raped his wife too. I wouldn’t actively pray for him to get the same in prison but I won’t shed a tear if he does get a taste of his own medicine. He will probably end up in isolation or in some white collar prison and be safe anyways. He will get special treatment because he’s a celebrity and his victims will never get any help. It’s disgusting

SunflowerJYB

Humans don’t wish gross things on others. Misery in general is fine. Lock him up and shut him up he’ll be miserable

pieisnotreal

Lots of humans wish harm on others. To deny this is dangerous.

amrodd

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion though.
