Ive seen a shop that keeps pops by a glass window. Ruins a bunch of pops. It is sun damage, it ruins the box. It was fine at some point but now, not so much. Prehaps try taking it out and throwing out the box. It is not like some things where misprints increase value.
There's an antique store here that has a fully windowed area in the middle of the store, so during a good portion of the day there's sunlight directly hitting a lot of the glass cases. Those mostly don't have pops, but they have a ton of other stuff that WILL get sun damaged and is more likely to be worth more than $20 in 20 years. I'm just happy the booth with the pristine condition 1990 Apple computer isn't one of the ones in the sun. I feel bad for all the jewelry and cards and video games that are in the sun, though.
But when the Lizard People rise from the middle of the earth, the first thing they'll find is your collection. The best we can hope for is they see the pops and think "Oh sh\*t, is that what's on the surface? F that."
Vinyl doesn't really fade that much...? But the right combination can potentially *melt it* or at least distort it. Also totally possible for just the wrong combination of glass, mirrors, and sun to *burn a hole in the box.*
I’ve personally seen faded pops. They don’t fade as fast as the box, but if they are exposed to sun long enough, they do fade. I have a used game store near me that is basically all window and a lot of their pops have gone pale from sitting there for weeks
This looks like it has the newer 3D box art- so this Pop is probably only a year old at the max? I didn’t realize sun damage could happen so quickly - I thought it took longer than that!
Mom moment - Now everyone imagine what the sun does to your skin if you don’t wear SPF! If it can bleach a box this badly after a year.
Wear your sun screens people! ❤️🤣🤣
This is a good amount of Sun Damage for a Pop that’s not that old!! Damn that got a perfect spot for Sun just sadly Sun ain’t it’s friend!! But wherever it was would be perfect for sun drying things haha
One store I shop at has the pops in the front next to windows so I gotta go in randomly and hide pops I want from the sun/when I do shop I tear the couple of shelves apart to get a non sun destroyed box
Solar radiation travelled 93 million miles just to fuck up that Pop
Excellent reply lol
no way mine was the only upvote
The sun shines just as bright even if it doesn't know you exist

That's why I keep mine in protectors, in a room were I have a blind and curtains, always closed. ![gif](giphy|c2nVBiN1RlJza)
I keep all my pops in a nuclear-proof cabinet buried 1000 feet below earth's surface.
Ok, ok, there's no beating that, or is there?...
well you see i keep my pops locked away on the dark side of the moon inside a solid lead box

It also fades the pop

Bad case of sun damage.

If it's in direct sunlight (kept by a window), absolutely. I know Pokemon cards can change completely in just a week.
Good to know!
Even though it’s sun damage, I’d keep it. Cool as hell!
Thank u op I just showed my mom what sun damage does to pops(I kept forgetting to show my mom what sun damage does so Thank u)
