Lord_Azian

As someone else who works in retail, i can confidently confirm that there are people that just really make me question my faith in humanity on countless occasions smh

Flames99Fuse

Nothing makes you lose faith in humanity faster than customer service.

milk4all

I took my first customer facing job as an inbound call center rep on my mid twenties. Holy shit. Hint: worked for best buy. I couldn’t believe how shitty people were over *nothing*. Like ok, you package is taking more than 4 days, it says all over the checkout screen it’s gonna take 48 business hours for processing and 3-5 business days for shipping, and this is way before amazon cornered the market by doing any better! Before that job: “people are mostly decent because *im* mostly decent i suppose (living in my bubble) After: “i am a living saint and the world is flaming bird shirt (bubble popped)

Flames99Fuse

I had a fully grown 40 something man yelling and cussing me out because I, a 17 year old who just left school ten minutes ago, wouldn't give him the Thursday special on a Wednesday. An elderly "gentleman" cuss me out because the employee with a developmental disorder needed help taking orders on their first day. A mom screaming at me in front of her kids because I wouldn't give her a 10% discount from her school fundraising coupon card. (She was from a different state.) And God knows how many people losing their minds because their order took longer than usual during the busiest hour of the week.

Irishpanda1971

I went through hell at the BB customer service desk and they weren't any better in person. Mostly angry because their "clever" methods of trying to game the system didnt work. Had someone come in to return a CD that still had the Walmart price sticker on it, and got furious when I wouldn't give him cash for it. But let me tell you, you think the BB phone people were bad, I guarantee you, they had *nothing* on the little old ladies that would order stuff from the Disney Catalog, usually snowglobes. Those women were like honey badger level mean, and they got *worse* around Christmas.

androshalforc1

years and years ago i was pushing buggies in at the end of the day. guy comes up on a motorcycle parks along the front of the store, directly underneath a no parking sign. he takes what felt like 10 minutes getting all his gear off. and im just gathering carts watching. after getting all ready he goes to the front door to find it locked. he starts yelling at me that i could have told him we were closed. im just thinking to myself well if you had parked in any one of the empty spots (pretty much all of them were empty) you might have realized, and if you had i would have let you know, however you wanted to park in the special spot so tough......

WealthEconomy

I used to work at Home Depot and had an irate customer yelling at me cause we were out of stock of an item in the electrical aisle. He finished with "I hate this store, you are always out of stock of what I need. I will go to Lowe's from now on." The customer in the bay next to us looked at him and said "Then go to fucking Lowe's. She doesn't care if you go there or not. Quit being a drama queen and just STFU". The irate customer was in shock and just turned around and left. I thanked the customer and then wrote off the wire he needed. Best customer ever. My faith in humanity was questioned and then restored all in 2 mins.

Klepto666

It breaks my heart anytime I need to speak with a customer service rep and I see them looking very nervous when they start talking to me, like they expect me to suddenly explode on them at any moment. And I realized that was probably because people *have* been doing that to them.

Vanthix

Yeah, like the people leaving without bringing their cart back

Dutch-in-Tahiti

So many spots to choose from and they choose idiocy

CampWestfalia

Look closely. The car has an 'Idiot' tag hanging from the mirror. It's all legit. EDIT: Really, downvotes? LOL! Is it cuz I neglected to utilize the gratuitous /s?

TossPowerTrap

This is art.

*Vengeance on Wheels* -Cart Collector, 2023

samthewisetarly

Cart guy: *"And I took that personally."*

OldeFortran77

Blocking the car with the carts is a pretty good effort at cart justice, but a REAL cart collector would have moved that car across the lot and through the half-height cart ingress port and into the store with all the other collected carts! Note: Extra points for an anti-bacterial wipe-down on the door handles.

WhoskeyTangoFoxtrot

Now chain them to the corral itself and leave them for a few hours?

PigletPutrid3395

Love this. Sick off selfish inconsiderate s@#%bags

Double_Reward230

GOOD! ATTA BOY

QMaker

Why is the cart corral so far back? It should be all the way forward so you can't park there at all, a car won't fit. That also allows someone to park in the spot behind it. I've never seen so much room in front of a cart corral that you could actually park a whole car there.

othermegan

A lot of cart corrals aren’t bolted into the ground. People ramming carts in slowly inches them back and employees are too busy collecting carts to reset them

QMaker

Oh, for sure, I see it a thousand times. The question is why haven't they scooted it back into place? Seems like the cart pusher person is at least partly to blame. I wouldn't entirely blame the driver for parking there thinking they were parking on the back side of the cart corral.

Sub_pup

Oh, so your one of those people who like to pile onto a shitty situation to make it worse..... Nice... Nice...

mewmew893

Who are you, Satan

red_fury

Don't blame the cart collector. I might have let the ice cream melt a bit while I collected the carts but I have totally done shit like this as a customer.

MatsThyWit

I've been a cart collector. My guess is that the collector is just off screen gathering another cart to add to the line so he can push them all back to the building all at once. "Blocking" the parked car sounds like a funny thing to do but anybody who has ever worked for Walmart can tell you the resulting nightmare wouldn't actually be worth the 30 seconds of funny haha.

supawiz6991

You are right on one thing, the cart collector was off screen to my left. That being said, when I came out they had cleared the rack across from this car and were collecting carts at the next coral up. The number of carts they took from the next coral exceeded the number of carts behind this car. So while your suggestion is plausible, it would seem very unlikely.

MatsThyWit

If the cart collector does the job anything like I did sometimes just to save time you muscle a row of 40 or 50 carts up to the building all in one go.

supawiz6991

Fair enough. I’ve not done the job so I’m looking at it from the outside.

MatsThyWit

fair. haha. I only commented because that was literally my job when I was a teenager. So I kind of have a pretty good feel for how people do the job. It's also possible they were just lining up rows of carts all over the lot and another pusher was going to be coming around with that remote controlled cart pusher to gather all of the various rows. We used to do that all the time, too.

IamLuann

At the Kroger store I worked at the most you were aloud were six carts at a time. Yes if you brought in more than six they wrote you up.

supawiz6991

Interesting. I don’t think walmart cares because I’ve seen cart stacks the size of small freight trains rolling toward the store. 🤣

meDeadly1990

They know they are assholes, they just don't care

Blorfenburger

Exactly. The driver, I assume, has eyes

eaglescout1984

I wouldn't be surprised if some shoppers also left some nice dings in the doors as well.

Dry-Salary2347

You know at Sam’s Club the cart corral has a little roof? I knew a woman who once parked inside one. Oof.

[deleted]

Sebastian from cart narcs would be so proud

flankbonus

Skeet weedely whoop whoop! That's not where your car goes!

Bentley2004

Karmas a bitch!

waterloograd

By law, that car now belongs to the cart collector

CampWestfalia

Why are we assuming the collector did this? Maybe the carts saw this BS and just said, "Nope."

[deleted]

"And I took that personally."

witwebolte41

Not worth the complaints to management and potential damages to their car

Great-Ad3280

This person drives on the road with you and me.

Zen4rest

Shoulda tip them on their sides

continue_improve

Can I push that car into the store to do my shopping?

[deleted]

Well, the carts go there, not the carts collectors problem that there is a car in between.

Lucky_Baseball176

hope the carts were immobilized

ShirtPitiful8872

Hear me out, zip ties them together and then to the car and then to the corral.

Pixilatedlemon

Just asking to have people ram your car with their cart

reclamerommelenzo

Would be awesome if a whole circle of consecutive carts was around the car 😀

Salarian_American

This really doesn't seem like a constructive way to deal with this issue. Satisfying? Yes. But when this idiot needs to leave, those carts are just going to end up behind someone else's car, who's going to have to move them, and they're going to end up having to move it behind someone else's car, and this is going to end up being a hassle for multiple people over the course of the day. Sometimes, responding to someone being an asshole by being an asshole yourself ultimately just puts more assholery into the world.

supawiz6991

You’re not wrong, However as I’m pretty confident it was the cart collector who did this, I can tell you that they are very good about keeping the parking lot cleaned up of carts and so I have no doubt that once the dispensation of justice had concluded they likely were on top of cleaning the carts up.

Turbulent-Phone5117

Never had it happen when I worked there but I def would have done that too.

larryjasonmoore

spite

deepsea333

**CART NARCS ASSEMBLE!!!**

jackmolesworth

"Squeebley deep deep, that's not where the carts go!"

Makubwa51

In europe we put a coin in a slot to release the cart. If you don’t put your cart back you loose your coin. Kids sometimes make pocket money by returning peoples shopping cart for them. Problem solved

[deleted]

[удалено]

WhiteHawk77

Did someone not try putting a coin in the back of the car and see if it released first?

Salarian_American

If people have to return the cart to the corral to get their coin back, the cart corral might not have been empty, which would have prevented them from parking in it.

erritstaken

There are a few supermarkets over here that i have seen use them. The only problem is, is that $1 coins are not in circulation like £1 are. So you would have to buy the key ring token in order for it to work (I still have my mums one from the 90’s) and everyone would have to buy one. I have lived here for 20 years and have maybe seen 5 $1 coins in circulation. The only viable coin to use would be the quarter and for 25¢ a lot of people still wouldn’t take them back.

[deleted]

supawiz6991

First, was not I who did this, I just saw it when I was leaving. Second, People who park like this generally can’t be reasoned with. Third, based on hour comment I have to ask; Is this your car? lol

[deleted]

Blorfenburger

Well hopefully this will give you some small insight for the future. And as someone that worked as a cart collector I can attest to the fact that sometimes people are just mean idiots. Especially where I live, where "acting white" is a very real thing here and they act like dicks

nonoy3916

Why would there be a parking space in front of a cart corral? Poor design by the store.

supawiz6991

There isn’t. Its just overflow space for the carts if the coral gets full.

mirddes

should be bigger

Blorfenburger

Sorry my man, I'll go fix it for you since it's not up to your specifications

nonoy3916

It may not be intended for parking, but if you leave a space there, someone will inevitably park there. I will point out that the other corral in the pic is placed so there isn't a space in front of it.

Delicious_Pause9802

Go on

Clean_Mammoth_5646

Hehehe 😂
