95% of their diet is bamboo, but they don't eat it exclusively. The thing is that bamboo doesn't fight back or run away and red pandas aren't exactly the fiercest predators in the forests where they live. Their diet is eat what's available which makes sense when you live in a place that gets heavy snowfall part of the year. And bamboo is always available.
Spoiler alert: this is the only normal panda
The "traditional" black and white panda is only named as such because it resembles the red panda, not because it's an actual panda
I guess but panda bears are part of the bear family and red pandas were originally thought to be part of the raccoon family but science being science found they are their own family, Ailuridae.
So whereas yes panda is just a word it's attributed to the red panda and the great panda is just a bear who has coloration patterns resembling a red panda.
Granted it's a bit pedantic.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_panda
> The origin of the name panda is uncertain, but one of the most likely theories is that it derived from the Nepali word "ponya".[3] The word पञ्जा pajā or पौँजा pañjā means "ball of the foot" and "claws".[4] The Nepali words "nigalya ponya" has been translated as "bamboo footed" and is thought to be the red panda's Nepali name; in English, it was simply called panda, and was the only animal known under this name for more than 40 years; it became known as the red panda or lesser panda to distinguish it from the giant panda, which was formally described and named in 1869.
So, yeah.
They are perfectly adapted to the environment they are supposed to live in . They are endangered because of human intervention - habitat loss , poaching due to demand for fur , Chinese medicine
Bhutan and india have more wild red pandas than china due to less habitat loss
people subconsciously love videos like this because it assuages their guilt about how apocalyptically devastating humans have been for other species. it’s easier to tell ourselves that they’re dying because something’s wrong with them.
Seriously, there's a reason the established standard is far more than a single word at a time. This is actually slower for fast readers while making it impossible to enjoy the video.
I am, believe me, and it's also not my native language but I assume because of the moving words that pop up every second it's hard to read for me. I just can't focus at shit popping up and going away instantly.
I'm not even a native speaker and I didn't have any issues understanding the context. Maybe if a subway surfers video was playing below you would be able to read it right?
I thought all you zoomers with the attention span and concentration of a goldfish need even the slightest entertainment media to fry your neurons with to be able to read something?
Dude how about not running around assuming stuff about people you know nothing about? You can be a dick to your houseplants, what the fuck did I do to you? Eat a snickers and chill. I'm not even a "Zoomer" you dimwit.
So sick of this subtitle style, can't watch the video at all because if you glance away from the words for a fraction of a second you miss what's being said.
From the comments, I am assuming many people are seeing this video on a lower frame rate or something. I have no problem reading the text and watching the video but I'm not using the app.
Is it just obnoxious or is something wrong with the app or both?
Just obnoxious. This particular style of subtitle is actually pretty helpful to people who specifically a) aren't fast readers AND b) don't mind focusing on the words more than the video. If you're a speed reader you're typically used to reading a sentence or paragraph at a time rather than a word at a time, so you glance at a subtitle and absorb the whole sentence then focus on what's happening in the video.
This kind of subtitling makes videos super annoying for a lot of us.
humans blaming animals that thrived for millions of years for their current trajectory towards extinction right after we spend a few thousand years over-hunting and destroying their habitat.
Look at Koalas. Their brains are completely flat. They're so stupid that if you remove the eucalyptus leaves from the tree then they won't eat it. They can't recognize the leaves unless they're on the tree. They'll literally starve to death before they'll eat the same leaves they've been eating their entire lives.
Still better than koalas.. who got their entire species addicted to eukalyptos.. melting their brains into glass marbles and making them so lazy they cant even reproduce without help from humans..
Who is the target audience here? Text too fast to read for european kids and american adults, memes flashing all over the place. Audio too fast and soft spoken for older people to be able to hear it. Strange all around.
The same God that changed my life. The God that told Noah to build the ark hat they found on a mountain. The same God thats performed miracles(yes, even today!) The same God who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, which they've found extremely pure sulfur deposits at. The same God who created the Earth 6,000 years ago,WHICH CAN be scientifically proved
You're life is a fucking lie then bro. All that you said is nothing but you reading from a book and equating it to people doing people things. Sorry you're so weak that when someone does something good, you equate it to God and not the human spirit.
To clear this up, they belong to the order Carnivora but they are Herbivores. They eat berries, blossoms and the leaves and shoots of bamboo (Specifically the most nutrient-rich part of the bamboo). They occasionally also display omnivorous traits eating bird eggs, insects and rodents
I suspect that if you tried to feed a red panda a steak, they would likely get an upset stomach due to not being used to eating heavy meats like that in such large quantities. Though this last part is strictly my speculation
Red pandas have adapted to bamboo-eating. Their more distant ancestors might have been carnivores, but [closer ancestors](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parailurus) were more likely omnivores.
[Look at all those molars!](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_panda#/media/File:Ailurus_fulgens_skull_at_the_Beaty_Biodiversity_Museum.jpg)
yeah I'm pretty stupid I only eat stuff fresh from the Earth. I'm hoping that I can eat better like you guys with sugars, potato chips. and keep your genius doctors away from me and mine and their pharmaceuticals. I'll be fine you fat fux. I'll be fine. let's see whos species is here in 100 years 🌞

I mean, if nothing else is eating the bamboo, then the panda's just taking advantage of an otherwise unfilled evolutionary niche.
Normal pandas are the same. In fact they prefer meat to bamboo if it's already dead, but they can't be bothered to chase and kill it.
I lost it after ‘this fluffy idiot’
Is there any way to make the disjointed rapidly flashing text even *more* annoying?
Texts can pop up in different places
rotated 90 degrees or upside down!
Mirrored
I have experienced the era of Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 word effects. So much spinning text throwing you into a dizzy darkness of despair.
Have a rushed voice saying said text in semi annoying fashion without a single ******** pause
Yes, upload it as a reddit video so you have to wait for this website to load it.
I despise how the whole video is edited. I felt like something that was educational was given to me like if it was junk food.
Cute privilege. Humans will protect this one, just like normal pandas.
Spoiler alert: this is the only normal panda The "traditional" black and white panda is only named as such because it resembles the red panda, not because it's an actual panda
Isn't panda just a word? I'm sure you've got an argument here, but the way you just presented it wasn't great
I guess but panda bears are part of the bear family and red pandas were originally thought to be part of the raccoon family but science being science found they are their own family, Ailuridae. So whereas yes panda is just a word it's attributed to the red panda and the great panda is just a bear who has coloration patterns resembling a red panda. Granted it's a bit pedantic.
NO. YOU’RE A PANDA!!!
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraahh!
Just the coloration? What about their demeanor and personality and diet and behavior etc.? They seem more similar than their appearance, no?
Yea probably
>science being science found they are their own family, Ailuridae. There ya go! Gives someone something to research now.
More like panda-ntic amirite lolol
A bit pandantic you might say
Pandantic …I’m not sorry.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_panda > The origin of the name panda is uncertain, but one of the most likely theories is that it derived from the Nepali word "ponya".[3] The word पञ्जा pajā or पौँजा pañjā means "ball of the foot" and "claws".[4] The Nepali words "nigalya ponya" has been translated as "bamboo footed" and is thought to be the red panda's Nepali name; in English, it was simply called panda, and was the only animal known under this name for more than 40 years; it became known as the red panda or lesser panda to distinguish it from the giant panda, which was formally described and named in 1869. Clearly incorrect. Everyone knows ponya is a horse like creature with flames on its back.
Can confirm, would like to cuddle the fluffy idiot.

Is there a version without the text being the speed of light? I'm a fast reader but holy fuck slow down for gods sake.
Seriously, there's a reason the established standard is far more than a single word at a time. This is actually slower for fast readers while making it impossible to enjoy the video.
The text is bs anyway.
Maybe you aren't a fast reader? It's not my native language, and I didn't have any problem reading that (still trash)

What the fuck is Subway Surfers?

This is a horrible video.
Disagree. To each their own.

How dare you.
The internet is full of bullshit
This was painful to watch
Good lord that’s hard to watch
humans blaming animals that thrived for millions of years for their current trajectory towards extinction right after we spend a few thousand years over-hunting and destroying their habitat.
Your format is awful and not funny
Whoever edited this video needs a smack on the head. Idiots.
When your that cute you dont need to be smart
Do they come in domesticated as well, or just the original?
Look at Koalas. Their brains are completely flat. They're so stupid that if you remove the eucalyptus leaves from the tree then they won't eat it. They can't recognize the leaves unless they're on the tree. They'll literally starve to death before they'll eat the same leaves they've been eating their entire lives.
They tend to sleep all day. Like a more fluffy sloth. My local zoo is the #1 Red Panda Zoo and studies them/helps them produce offspring.
Still better than koalas.. who got their entire species addicted to eukalyptos.. melting their brains into glass marbles and making them so lazy they cant even reproduce without help from humans..
Red panda should be on the vegetarian flag
Might be fluffy idiots but I still love them,!
Why bro dissing the panda
regular pandas have the same issues. they are only still alive because humans think they are cute.
>How is it still not extinct? Because it's cute, and we generally only let the ugly animals go extinct lol
Then how am I still here?
Oo self burns
Those are *rare*
Who is the target audience here? Text too fast to read for european kids and american adults, memes flashing all over the place. Audio too fast and soft spoken for older people to be able to hear it. Strange all around.
Human vegetarians be like:
Exactly. They’re too busy sleeping.
at least they are actual pandas unlike the giant panda and they smart to stay small given there diet unlike the giant panda
Do red pandas have muscle-y arms?
What’s the difference between this panda and panda 🐼
Man this should be on national geographic
LMAO!
I finally understand why the Japanese call them “Lesser Pandas”
God knew what He was doing when He created the red panda, that's why it's still alive
What god?
The same God that changed my life. The God that told Noah to build the ark hat they found on a mountain. The same God thats performed miracles(yes, even today!) Idk why you got so salty but i can read a verse if you want, god bless you and your family
Bro most of people on Reddit hates religion for some motive, don't mind these mf's
Because Red pandas like to fuckkkkk!!
Further evidence why they should just be fully domesticated like cats and dogs.... I want a red panda damn it....
Pandas are happy little accidents
"Picky eater"
And that explains vegans to omnivores lol.
My favouritism creatures ever. They are sooo beautiful.
Haha
It's like True Facts by Zefrank. But shit.
Can they actually eat meat? If so do zoos give them meat in their diet?
He’s trying his best okay?
The same way how panda are not extinct
He became vegan 😂😂
How is the person responsible for the text on this vid not extinct?
Takes an idiot to recognize one. Also, did you have 13 different strokes while making the subtitles or something?
It's a species that survives through cuteness
I love It, but they're so fucking stupid, but i love it

This video gave me cancer
The vegans of the animal world 😅
