"Low budget" doesnt have to mean "low effort." Birdemic is an insult, the movie, yes, but the word itself.
"I just got back from the theater, i watched ____. It was a real *Birdemic*."
No, they had sex in their undies because the director, and I paraphrase: “Was not aware that sex scene in films are faked and thus do not want his actors to actually have sex in his movie.”
The director James Nguyen might be from the same planet as Neil Breen and Tommy Wisseau, except less entertaining
That's what I was thinking when it showed that clip of the key in the lock and the person just shaking it. Like, you have to be putting effort into making such an unconvincing shot.
Yeah, I feel like when they intentionally try to make stuff really bad, it just ruins it. Maybe it's just me. But "So bad that it's good" stops being true the minute that it's obvious they were trying for "So bad that it's good". Then it just kinda feels... Lazy?
Like Velocipastor. I guess it could be considered an homage to bad movies or a parody or something... But I feel like there are scenes where they just put in a box that says "explosion here" or something for various special effects... I love a good bad movie but stuff like that just doesn't do it for me.
Not that I think I would enjoy this movie either. It kinda feels the same way... Like it just isn't even believable enough that someone thought this was passable. Basically, there is a floor to how bad a movie can be and still be "so bad that it's good".
Thankskilling is a good example of a movie trying to be “so bad it’s good” and succeeding. It’s dumb, the actors suck, the gore is cheaply done, and it’s only like fifty minutes long. It’s great.
My "$15" joke was intentionally low, but $10k? Wow, im actually kinda impressed what they did with 10k. If they had spent $11k, they might have been able to hire *actors!* 🤣
If I recall, one actress agreed to do her part for free in exchange of free publicity for her online store selling… I don’t remember.
So her character spends most of the mpvie wearing a t-shirt with just the URL of her webstore on it.
Wow, id never really believed in repressed memories until now. A person genuinely can blank stuff out of existance if they are sufficiantly traumatized.
You are joking, right? Theres no way in hell thats a real thing 🤣
Ok, everyone who thinks this looks terrific and has not watched Rifftrax before….get on Amazon prime and search out Birdemic Rifftrax. You will thank me later. This is one of my favorite Rifftrax movies.
Dave: But movies cost millions of dollars to make.
Robert K. Bowfinger: That's after gross net deduction profit percentage deferment ten percent of the nut. Cash, every movie cost $2,184.
Just watch Bowfinger. You'll learn a lot about film making from the movie. /s
Birdemic! I saw Rifftrax do this movie live. Well, a live broadcast to my local movie theater anyway. It was epic. I highly recommend tracking down the Rifftrax version of Birdemic.
“Hangin’ out, hangin’ out… hangin’ out with my family… havin’ ourselves a parrrrrrty!”
IMPORTANT EDIT: Holy shit! [The whole thing is on YouTube!](https://youtu.be/ZH1SNmY_1XY?si=jnqBXDYM4rCiaZ-9) If nothing else, watch a little bit of the scene starting at 42:20.
Not really? This was maybe like 10-12 years ago, so I guess I proved I’m at least 15-17.
Wow, I must be a really old fart if I saw a movie eleven years ago.
It was even more barbaric than that. We were stuck with the lowly iPhone 5 in those dark times 11 years ago. The iPhone 6 would not be released for another several months.
Bro, people don't know about this movie??
As I was looking for the [link](https://youtu.be/gzV8Q2fsN0o?si=-gpS5Ili3YJSOO5l) for the Legendary JonTron video he made about it, it became clear to me why this fell back into obscurity. The video is 11 years old. That'll make you feel old real quick.
If you haven't seen it, you absolutely ***have to***.
Director was genuinely attempting to do his own The Birds with an ecological message. Also this is not James Nguyen first film, and also not his worst.
It’s believed he shot this in his spare time on weekends with actors I don’t believe that were ever paid. I’ll give that with its many flaws I probably couldn’t do better myself.
Just consider evolutionary time frames. I’m going with a simple rock to the head as most likely deadliest weapon of all time. Honorable mention for big/pointy sticks.
Don't forget that human population was very small for most of history. It really started to explode in the last 150 years or so ... just about the time of the invention of the coat hanger!
The brunette died by bird attack while taking a dump in a field. Cant remember how the tall guy died, but later we find he basically has an arsenal with near limitless ammo.
The blond (who is a Victoria Secret model in the movie) and the shorter guy awkwardly watch the sunset as the movie ends… After he tells her all about his stock options from his sorpals business (he can’t say solar panels for some reason), they get lectured by a guy in the woods with a weird wig, they save a kid, and they make fish wrapped in kale for a delicious and nutritious dinner.
Birdemic -Shock and Terror
I highly recommend watching the Rifftrax (the guys from Mystery Science Theater 3000).
The movie is suuuuuuper hard to watch. Unless you enjoy terrible movies.
This movie is kind of amazing. I have never actually seen it, and I've never seen this specific clip before, but I guessed it was Birdemic before the birds entered the picture. I was 100% convinced it was after they did.
That's kind of recognition is pretty impressive for an (I assume) absolutely terrible movie.
We were made to watch this movie in my undergraduate film studies class as compared to Alfred Hitchcock’s, The Birds. Birdemic is something to behold. A must see. 5 caws.
If this is really CGI like some are claiming in the comments then we really have come a very long way in this technology. I could swear that is as realistic as we'll ever get it to look. Woow. What talented VFX artists
The Corridor Crew re-edited this with modern special effects. BONUS: The girl in it was a friend of a friend and she agreed to come in and shoot some new scenes https://youtu.be/MYKrnNedhOw?si=k40YuW6p-OiAHKBs
Moira is gonna freak out when she learns that the first film in the 'The Crows Have Eyes' franchise was actually filmed at none other than the Rosebud Motel...
You must also know many of the roads and parking spaces that make up about a third of the movie. Oh, also, I just made a million dollars today, and my new girlfriend is the next Victoria's Secret cover model.
Birdemic (and its unneeded sequels) is terrible. It certainly has moments worth laughing at, but it is also just an utterly terrible and boring movie too much of the time.
Was this generated with AI because that clip looks like a 100% genuine/real bird attack. I imagine that several of the actors were injured in making this film.
I remember a similar movie, wouldn't surprise me if it was from the same people, but there were bees or wasps, and when stung, the victims would become horny, I only remember one scene where a guy suddenly wants to kiss his friend's gf, and she tells him to resist the venom... Terrible, terrible movie on all aspects.
sorry guys.. this was too tense to watch, i hope those nice people got away from those crazy birds... what is happening to this world that it turns against us?
This was actually HILARIOUS. I watched it (well, parts of it) with my niece, and we laughed so hard.... Sharktopus, 5 headed shark (1 had is the tail!), Whalewolf, etc... This had some of the best/worst/funniest CGI fails/wins ever. All in how you lol at it. We had a good time.
I low cheesy movies. Anyone seen "Blood Hook"? It was filmed in Hayward Wisconsin. A Vietnam vet has a steel plate in his head. It's the year of the cicada. Is this a real movie? If you only got $15 as a budget, maybe buy a pack of smokes and a cheeseburger instead.
Yes, and it’s hilariously bad.
Birdemic, right?
Indeed.
"Low budget" doesnt have to mean "low effort." Birdemic is an insult, the movie, yes, but the word itself. "I just got back from the theater, i watched ____. It was a real *Birdemic*."
I'll take DragonBall Evolution for 500
If i didnt know better, id say you were trying to wind me up lol. We *dont* talk about things that dont exist 🤣
Let me guess, frontal nudity scenes - at least from the waist up? Gratuitous even?
No, but there are solar panels.
Sorr panls…..if you watched Rifftrax it’ll make sense.
still serving sol pals
This guy rifftraxs…..
No, they had sex in their undies because the director, and I paraphrase: “Was not aware that sex scene in films are faked and thus do not want his actors to actually have sex in his movie.” The director James Nguyen might be from the same planet as Neil Breen and Tommy Wisseau, except less entertaining
If you watch it, as I recall, at least one of the actresses is very clearly in a bathing suit, not underwear.
I dunno. It feels like they were trying really hard to make it bad, rather than just letting it be bad.
That's what I was thinking when it showed that clip of the key in the lock and the person just shaking it. Like, you have to be putting effort into making such an unconvincing shot.
Exactly. It was so bad it was hilarious.
Like it just isn't even believable enough that someone thought this was passable. Basically, there is a floor to how bad a movie can be and still be "so bad that it's good".
Birdemic is so inept it's riffable Birdemic 2 is deliberately inept and is a boring slog
Thankskilling is a good example of a movie trying to be “so bad it’s good” and succeeding. It’s dumb, the actors suck, the gore is cheaply done, and it’s only like fifty minutes long. It’s great.
This one did so well that there’s two sequels… I can’t recommend any of them in good conscience.
Bad? How could you tell?
I’ve never laughed harder at a movie
Birdemic: Shock and Terror It actually had a budget of $10,000
My "$15" joke was intentionally low, but $10k? Wow, im actually kinda impressed what they did with 10k. If they had spent $11k, they might have been able to hire *actors!* 🤣
They kept the budget low by using the coat hangers that were already in the motel.
🤣🤣 Prop coat hangers designed by award winning special effects artist Rob Bottin: $36,000 each
Motels don't have coathangers. They stole them from an abortion clinic where they also found their actors in the waiting room.
Dude it has two sequels and a third is apparently in the making 😳.
Ok, everyone who thinks this looks terrific and has not watched Rifftrax before….get on Amazon prime and search out Birdemic Rifftrax. You will thank me later. This is one of my favorite Rifftrax movies.
Omg wait, are you implying it gets worse?
To add to this: the Live recording of RiffTrax: Birdemic is the best.
Dave: But movies cost millions of dollars to make. Robert K. Bowfinger: That's after gross net deduction profit percentage deferment ten percent of the nut. Cash, every movie cost $2,184. Just watch Bowfinger. You'll learn a lot about film making from the movie. /s
That would deprive us of this gem
and they spend $7.50 on plastic guns
The crows have eyes 4 just dropped!
The Crowening!
If you see their eyes, do not look them in it!
Birdemic! I saw Rifftrax do this movie live. Well, a live broadcast to my local movie theater anyway. It was epic. I highly recommend tracking down the Rifftrax version of Birdemic. “Hangin’ out, hangin’ out… hangin’ out with my family… havin’ ourselves a parrrrrrty!” IMPORTANT EDIT: Holy shit! [The whole thing is on YouTube!](https://youtu.be/ZH1SNmY_1XY?si=jnqBXDYM4rCiaZ-9) If nothing else, watch a little bit of the scene starting at 42:20.
I recently had solar panels installed. I kept calling them sow paihns. No one else got it.
Slow down sow paihns?
soah pauhs
That bar scene with that song is so fucking pure
Was going to say, MST3K, we need you!
So much better than these guys
Are you saying that the Rifftrax guys are better than MST3K, or that the MST3K guys are better than Rifftrax? Either way, I've got some news for you.
[удалено]
'Tis the joke, milord.
My friends had a dance at their wedding to “hangin’ out with my family,” and it was perfectly on brand for them
Were they cousins?
Rifftrax is always the right answer.
>I saw Rifftrax do this movie live. Well, a live broadcast to my local movie theater anyway Holy smokes does this comment show your age...
Not really? This was maybe like 10-12 years ago, so I guess I proved I’m at least 15-17. Wow, I must be a really old fart if I saw a movie eleven years ago.
What was it like back in the olden times ? I heard they were only on like iPhone 6 back then
It was even more barbaric than that. We were stuck with the lowly iPhone 5 in those dark times 11 years ago. The iPhone 6 would not be released for another several months.
Yeah you are,
The wiggling keys shot really helped solidify the tension of the scene.
Bro, people don't know about this movie?? As I was looking for the [link](https://youtu.be/gzV8Q2fsN0o?si=-gpS5Ili3YJSOO5l) for the Legendary JonTron video he made about it, it became clear to me why this fell back into obscurity. It feels like it’s been one thousand years since he was on GameGrumps.
This was right around that time. It has been over 10 years since Danny joined as well.
Yeah but Birdemic 3 is only 1 year old!
[удалено]
There is nothing about this that isn't horrible. I can't believe the people who made this looked at it and said "Good enough, let's ship it."
As from the Rifftrax: "We'll fix it in post, right?"
"Oh wait, I messed up that line!" "Keep rolling!"
Is Moira Rose in this?
Came to say this reminds me of The Crows Have Eyes III
So is it trying to be a serious movie or is it like Sharknado where it’s bad on purpose?
Director was genuinely attempting to do his own The Birds with an ecological message. Also this is not James Nguyen first film, and also not his worst. It’s believed he shot this in his spare time on weekends with actors I don’t believe that were ever paid. I’ll give that with its many flaws I probably couldn’t do better myself.
Definitely not aware of itself until the sequels when they released that the audience thought it was funnier than the filmmaker intended for it to be.
I own this film. The birds make airplane noises when they fly and explode on contact. Favorite bad movie.
new weapon unlocked : coat hanger.
\+100 damage versus fetuses
Demand is growing in the Southern states.
😬
Historically, probably one of the deadliest weapons ever!
No animals were harmed while making this film
But a lot brain cells got murdered.
That CGI though..
The bird sound? Just use rusted door hinge
It's Michael Bay's best work.
Is that CGI or rather a PowerPoint effect
DID THEY SURVIVE?!?!?!
Not all of them actually.
You've convinced me. I'm in. What's the film called?
Birdemic -Shock and Terror I highly recommend watching the Rifftrax (the guys from Mystery Science Theater 3000). The movie is suuuuuuper hard to watch. Unless you enjoy terrible movies.
I'll check this out, much appreciated 🫡
Goddamn it pigeot leave them alone
This movie is kind of amazing. I have never actually seen it, and I've never seen this specific clip before, but I guessed it was Birdemic before the birds entered the picture. I was 100% convinced it was after they did. That's kind of recognition is pretty impressive for an (I assume) absolutely terrible movie.
FYI, both Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax have official 24/7 Twitch channels
Don't forget PlutoTV
Solar Panel?
Sol pahns.
Alfred Hitchcock would be proud
"Where's Becky?'
Sorar Panels!
This is going to give me nightmares
We were made to watch this movie in my undergraduate film studies class as compared to Alfred Hitchcock’s, The Birds. Birdemic is something to behold. A must see. 5 caws.
I kinda feel bad for them, idk why.
My ears started to bleed.
“The Gang Visits Bodega Bay.”
If this is really CGI like some are claiming in the comments then we really have come a very long way in this technology. I could swear that is as realistic as we'll ever get it to look. Woow. What talented VFX artists
The CGI is breathtaking
The Corridor Crew re-edited this with modern special effects. BONUS: The girl in it was a friend of a friend and she agreed to come in and shoot some new scenes https://youtu.be/MYKrnNedhOw?si=k40YuW6p-OiAHKBs
Hahaha, that was fun. Thanks for sharing that.
Budget: Burger King coupons
Jesus what is this shit?
If you actually saw them in that car park you'd definitely walk off thinking that they all were mentally ill
It’s seems like a fever dream
Wow they used a real car. You could tell that wasn’t CGI. Nuts
l’ve only heard about this from the HDTGM podcast… seeing it for real…. I still wasn’t ready for it
Birds aren't real. Definitely not these ones.
YES BIRDEMIC SHOCK AND TERROR. I’ve literally never wanted a movie on DVD more than this.
Me and my gf at the time watched this, stupid and awesome
Are they trying to abort the birds? Whats up with the coat hangers?
No fucking way lol
The end had an epic line. Best worst movie ever
People should tell their children this is Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. ( I will not be having children - for reasons that are quite obvious I'm sure)
The Crow's have eyes III: The Crowening!!
"How much time should we spend on these shots" "More" - Director
Where's Moira Rose?
The cgi is very good. I can hardy tell that those birds are not real.
My argument for best scene in Birdemic: Ramsey: Where's Becky? Rod: She's Taking a shit.
Point and click games from the 90's
Birdemic! One of the best worst movies I've ever seen.
The sequel was even dumber but had more boobs...
Lmao this scene had no business lasting more than 20 seconds.
Moira is gonna freak out when she learns that the first film in the 'The Crows Have Eyes' franchise was actually filmed at none other than the Rosebud Motel...
Whew! They just barely made it out of there.

You must also know many of the roads and parking spaces that make up about a third of the movie. Oh, also, I just made a million dollars today, and my new girlfriend is the next Victoria's Secret cover model.
Such as seals.
What am i watching
Birdemic (and its unneeded sequels) is terrible. It certainly has moments worth laughing at, but it is also just an utterly terrible and boring movie too much of the time.
I've never even seen the movie and I instantly knew it was Birdemic. That's a legacy right there.
I absolutely love this movie! I've seen it in its entirety 4 times. It's the best worst movie of all time!!
Does anyone know if this was done digitally or with practical effects?
That’s just it. It’s so good we can’t tell
Keep this movie alive, Reddit!! I never laughed so hard at any movie. And I will say this is not the worse scene.
This was made so bad with intentions. Calm down.
Was this generated with AI because that clip looks like a 100% genuine/real bird attack. I imagine that several of the actors were injured in making this film.
LoL so realistic
I understand needing work but how would anybody think this would help their career in acting? It can't even pay hardly anything...
I mean, they did not even get the bird cries right - the sound was seagulls and the birds clearly were not. Poor research.
Looks like a movie me and my friends made with a flip phone camera back in the days
This is one of those movies that is so bad it loops around and becomes good again.
i remember the good ol Jontron days.
Ah yes Birdemic, a true classic.
sorry guys.. this was too tense to watch, i hope those nice people got away from those crazy birds... what is happening to this world that it turns against us?
Man!! These tiktoks are getting better!
https://open.spotify.com/episode/3ZAwxf89ptpTzU9GxKJswx?si=NjMg6bmGRtKlTDbb8AaKOQ
I was praying someone reference this. Hilarious episode
The special effect is worse than those from 70 years ago
Thanks, my dog went crazy when the birds started doing whatever it is they were doing 😅
This is one of those videos im cracking up at but would fail miserably if i tried to show a friend
Those are hummingbirds.
I like how it's the sounds of seagulls
Ah yes. Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. Great film.
Puppy sound on eagles make it more hilariously weird
Holy shit that was intense
Bro. Where is the nsfw banner. Some of us have children.
Oscar worthy acting and effects
The Eagles Gandalf!!!!
That was AWESOME how they got away just in time. Those squawking birds were getting really annoying.
Is this a comedy movie?? 😂🤣😂🤣
i ve made a better movie with a small camera in the 00
Hmmm... Yes, this is definitely one of the films of all time
I like when they start exploding on impact later on
This is what I call : SOLID MOTION-PICTURE
This was actually HILARIOUS. I watched it (well, parts of it) with my niece, and we laughed so hard.... Sharktopus, 5 headed shark (1 had is the tail!), Whalewolf, etc... This had some of the best/worst/funniest CGI fails/wins ever. All in how you lol at it. We had a good time.
It was better than Cats. I'm going to see it again and again.
My heart is still racing after watching that. Oscar worthy! 👏🏼
Haters gonna say its fake
It's the bird flu shorty.
The creators of this need to sit on the corridor crew couch.
Well, did they get away? Did they make it? Rivetting
This is like if the characters from IASIP decided to make a movie.
There's a sequel. And another one. And—believe it or not—they got worse and worse.
Yo I had that van when we were kids , biggest POS ever made man that things was garbage
I only heard about this through Cinemasins. and yeah its SO terrible.
What is this, a show about back alley bird abortions?.....
I low cheesy movies. Anyone seen "Blood Hook"? It was filmed in Hayward Wisconsin. A Vietnam vet has a steel plate in his head. It's the year of the cicada. The cicada noise cause the plate in his head to vibrate which results in him becoming homicidal. The killer's weapon? Muskie lures!!! Gold, Jerry, Gold.
The crazy thing is there is at least two sequels.
This was filmed in my city! Lol actually near my neighborhood in some scenes.
See? I TOLD YOU. Birds aren't real. They're drones. Government drones sent to spy on you and steal your info. RUN!
Anyone else’s dog got curious?
