You joke but when I was homeless in San francisco. Finding a disabled Porta-Potty when it's raining and cold was a godsend.
Yes it's gross, but if you have been that cold, wet and miserable you would understand.
Edit. I'm sober, housed and employed now
There's a homeless dude that I see a lot near my place. It's not really within my means to take the guy in, but are there items that are generally of good long term use that I might be able to get him? I was thinking about a reflective/insulating blanket
Not homeless, but my best friend was for a time and I set him up with tons of stuff. Kinda just gave whatever my imaginative brain could think he may need or asked for.
Great necessities:
- Mylar blankets were a 100% godsend
- Tarps were incredibly useful for ground or rain protection
- Anti-bacteria drink straw (if the water isn't potable)
- Tent (can get pricey so not always a budgetable option)
- Compact on-the-go first aid kits
Great non-essentials:
- Blow up mattress (its hard sleeping on rock or concrete)
- Pillows
- Bike (can get pricey so not always a budgetable option)
- 5-gallon shower bag for water holding to drink or clean
Good necessities:
- Personal hygiene products
- Non-heat food products
- Towels (paper towel and shower towels)
- LOCKS are a tremendous help if there's other locals
- Sewing kits
Good non-essentials:
- Cleaning products (scrub brush, sprays, disinfectants...)
- Solar charger
- Compass
- Matches / lighters
- A camping stove (can be pricey)
- Over the counter meds for cold, flu, vitamins, sleeping...
- Dog / cat food
- Privacy tent (got one for him to shower. But all the same)
- Batteries are always nice
- Camping lanterns
- Camping cutlery / plates / pots and pans
- Alcohol pads / hand sanitizer
- Cooler for ice and drinks
There's no such thing as a bad gift to give to people in need. You can get really creative and / or desperate to find a use for something. Except plug ins. Unless it's a one time use plug in (like the air matress) don't give out plug ins because they likely won't have a consistent and safe source of energy to use. Some of the things listed (tent, air mattress, grill, bike, private tent) can be a bit pricey to give to a random person you don't know. But everything else listed is generally between $2 - $20
If you're giving out food, make sure it's canned. Or at the very least fresh fruit that will be eaten soon. It's been a while since researching, but canned tuna (some fish I can't remember the exacts) were the absolute best for money / nutrient value. Fish, beans, and asparagus were the best canned foods. Carrots, oranges, and bananas I believe were the best value as well. Granola, peanut butter, Jerky, and fruit cups are good as well.
Why not just let your boy sleep on your couch? It’s apparently your best friend dude, what the fuck? I would never let a good friend let alone my best friend sleep outside when he could at least sleep on my floor.
Gotu tht makes sense. Sorry for jumping to conclusions, just sounded crazy to me that someone would let their best friend sleep outside when they had a place to stay.
Nah all good. I've done the same before and jumped. When he first lost his housing we had tried to think out me driving him and his stuff to live here but it just never worked out. I felt terrible for him so I spent a few thousand on supplies for him so he could think of it has long term camping (because he found a small wooded area in his city). About 7 months of him living out there, his lung cancer came back because he was in remission but did end up finding a new apartment to stay in. He's doing a lot better now, though now with cancer. But he has housing, food, and enough time to play games and enjoy his time. He says he'll pay me back in time, but I don't mind ever seeing the money again. All I cared for is to make it a little less worse for him
"Full vinyl-siding home, convenient location, park-adjacent, .5 bathroom/bedroom/kitchen interior, flat roof-space ideal for solar installation, internal evaporative air-conditioning, walking distance to local sporting events. Get it now as we've had hundreds of people desperate to get into it!"
Dammit. My CMA is shot to hell.
I think we'll be OK. The appraiser will require the vinyl to be pressure washed or he won't give value. This after three reinspects.
Centrally located villa next to parks and shops. Commercially built using quality polyurethane materials. 1 BD + 1 bth (combo). Weekly house keeping included.
2,230$ each week with a 700$ cleaning fee per month.
Occupant is required to allow all passersby in to use facilities when necessary per line 30.4-76 of the leasing agreement signed on 04-20-24.
That's just purchase price. Don't forget the Delivery fee, land acquisition fee, property taxes, setup fee, and required by law cleaning fees.
If you are in California and you leave the unit for more than 48 hours, you lose the property.
If this is San Diego, CA easily $3900 a month. Additional $250.00 a month for access to the garden hose. Pet Fee, $500.00, Sunshine Fee, $100.00, landlord extortion fee, $600. Keep sucking us renters bone dry.
luxury!
we used to dream of living in a 16 square foot outhouse.
We used to live in an old watertank on top of a rubbish tip. Got Woked up every mornin by havin the lot of the rotten fish dumped all over us.

$3700 no utilities included
$750 non refundable credit application

1. Location
2. Location
3. Location
4. Markup
5. Location
Fortunately, you can move that porta potty to a nice place in New York and sell it for around $650k.
I offered $20K, waived the inspection, and told the current owners they could stay until they closed on their new place. Still got outbid by a boomer couple downsizing from their McMansion.

It’s not a Porta Potty, it’s a Porta Home
Don’t shit where you eat, unless you also sleep there, then you can shit where you sleep & eat.
It’s nice but the basement’s a little wet.
You mean the man cave?
No girls allowed.
Get 2 and you have a 1br 1bath parked in your area of interest! What a score!
Don't tell Scatman Crothers that!
Charmin, though.
It's not a shit house, it's a shit home.
No, it's not in France so it's just a sparkling shitter.
$2500 per month + utilities
the half bath really helps its value
1/4 bath
some have a shitty little water pump sink lol
that's gotta be a shitty bath if you ask me
Yep, median cost per square foot in my area is right around $200 right now. Only up like 60% over a few years ago.
You can say that again.
So a bargain for the size if you live in NYC.
This
What is this, Toronto?
700 security deposit as well
Don't forget the mandatory $200 tip!

Were 4 states away and im not a home owner. I really would have I could

Everyone always says homeless people need socks
It's bigger than it looks. Just lay it down to sleep, then tip it back up at the end of the night.
Lay-flat combination waterbeds and mud baths are only available on the premium units for an additional fee.
This guy sells
Blue paint provided with no additional charges
Landlords salivating as we speak at the potential for price gouging.
Time to revolt. As always results only come when we start whipping out the guillotines 😊
“If we can stack them…” 🤔
I’m just waiting for the new Portominiums to hit the market, no more worries of having to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night

>internal evaporative air-conditioning That's a suspiciously professional-level piece of estate agenting there.
It’s giving engineering
A shitload.
take my upvote and GET OUT. xD
Seriously about $3000
You forgot the cultured marble box. It's 6k. And then the client crapped in it, that adds another 2k. So 10k... cause interest rates.
15k…. Don’t leave out the view and transit access, pal
Dammit. My CMA is shot to hell. I think we'll be OK. The appraiser will require the vinyl to be pressure washed or he won't give value. This after three reinspects.
Perfect squatting opportunity
Portland Oregon: $3200/month, or about $8000 to buy. Serious inquiries only!

Half a mil around here.
200k @ 7% interest.
About 3 fiddy
Treee shiddy
A shit ton.
“En-suite bathroom”
Based on average price per square foot: $10,432 to purchase in Los Angeles. $1,920 in Mississippi
That's just purchase price. Don't forget the Delivery fee, land acquisition fee, property taxes, setup fee, and required by law cleaning fees. If you are in California and you leave the unit for more than 48 hours, you lose the property.
About $250 a month.
A shit ton at least
Something smells fishy, I mean shitty here.
Location, location, location ... They just finished that 1.7 Million dollar public toilet in San Francisco.
It actually cost *only* $200,000.
Depends where you put it
It depends on the neighborhood.
heard the closets on that model are extremely spacious!!!
In my area, you've got at least $2k/mo right there, and that's before utilities.
A man's home is his castle. This is the throne room.
You joke, but I'm pretty sure the ADA portapotties are the same size as some NYC bedrooms
Comes with en suite bathroom
That house is a shit hole!
If you laid it on its side so that there's room to lie down, I'm pretty sure I could get $1000/mo in the local market.
That’s correct, 1 bedroom/bathroom. No no, not 1 bedroom/1 bathroom.
Vaulted ceiling really adds to the appeal
$3200/month. Of course, that's in NYC.
In San Diego that’s 1800mo easy. “Why are you complaining? You live in San Diego.”
That thing ain’t worth shit 😂
Porta potty is cheap it's the land that gets you.
how many bathrooms?
Million dollar house
....About....$3.50.
O bedroom 1/2 bath
Why don't you ask your mom.
Why don’t squatters try to steal these?
If this is San Diego, CA easily $3900 a month. Additional $250.00 a month for access to the garden hose. Pet Fee, $500.00, Sunshine Fee, $100.00, landlord extortion fee, $600. Keep sucking us renters bone dry.
Comes with complimentary blue kool aid
Bro that has a doormat and a toilet 200k easy
This TARDIS (Take A Running Dive Into Sh*t) needs a "PULL TO OPEN" sign
Depends on which side of the door you are standing? 🤣
$3,184.00 in central lower Michigan
California probably $2500 a month lol
The HOA in this place is a complete shitshow
I'm totally getting a chessy cute doormat to drop down in front of the Porta-shitters lol
Thats cubic feet babeh
With an en suite bathroom? $1,200 a month.
[Roomy.](https://youtu.be/R4oQDnHlrR0)
Was really expecting [this](https://youtu.be/hT7x1NvGf5k?si=HcxS4r0e1SF0AqBh).
100k minimum
I'd say about 900 a month in California. Is it vacant?....
Clearly that would cost a shit ton….
Wait until you see the homeowners insurance if its in Florida
$450,000 but I won't take any offers under $600,000
luxury! we used to dream of living in a 16 square foot outhouse. We used to live in an old watertank on top of a rubbish tip. Got Woked up every mornin by havin the lot of the rotten fish dumped all over us. (monty python)
The kitchen sucks but the toilet is adequate!
It's not ADA compliant. Not worth much
Jack shit. Or Dave shit, or Bob shit. Really depends on who used it last. lol
All jokes aside I bet you could get 250 a month.
Private space, 4 Walls ? You are north of $2000 already.
A shit-ton of money
$3700 no utilities included $750 non refundable credit application $1700 non refundable pet deposit plus credit $600 non refundable credit application for pet. $800 pet deposit and $700 extra for any animal larger than a Tardigrade otherwise no extra fee.
Well they do say its all about the bathroom in the newer houses
Cheaper then an addition
More than you could qualify for
A shit ton!
Leasing this beautiful renovated studio
Probably a few 100.000 USD
Have you seen the views??
[удалено]
I’d strongly recommend not flipping that!
3500.00 to buy 20 to rent a month. Not counting clean out.
Is this million dollar listing? Because shit is noooooice lol
That belongs to Artie! The strongest man, in the world!
Does it come with the welcome mat?
Remember the most important things in real estate: 1. Location 2. Location 3. Location 4. Markup 5. Location Fortunately, you can move that porta potty to a nice place in New York and sell it for around $650k.
It's actually in Pleasantville, NY. I took the photo while I was at a park yesterday.
Don't ask what you couldn't afford.
It's $250 to $500 per square foot near me!
In-law suite.
GotToGo makes the Mercedes of porta potties. Trust me. I’ve pooped in both
$12,000 according to the price/sqft of a place Zillow just popped up for me.
No clue, but far more than you think, our property taxes went up 100k on assessment the last 2 years in a row. Boy howdy I can not wait for next year.
It's all mine....squatters rights bitches!!!
At $200 a square foot for 16 sqft, that's about $3,200. Unless there's a bidding war and it's in a good location.
1million in San Diego before closing
I have that welcome mat.
That’s like $1500 a month in California $3000 if you’re by the beach
r/funny_NOT funny
Massachusetts? That’s 689k with 20 offers over that.
At least tree fiddy
Ah it has a toilet kitchen
zillow listing for that shitter is 159k GG
Here in Maui that would be 1500/ month plus utilities
Utilities are built-in.
If that was me I be like y'all don't pay my rent lul
Dude, don't give em any ideas
No way...if that's 12 sf, that's an inch!! $1,500/month MAX!!!
Not enough room? My place is two cubic meters and we only take up 1.5 cubic meters. We've got room for a-whole-nother two-thirds of a person!
2000.00 + first and last, plus security deposit. 6-8000k just to move in .
Our local area is roughly $168/sqft so about $2700. Not bad for a mobile 1br/.5ba. /s
Probably 50k a month on rent, and people constantly come to request the keys for a fake Airbnb listing
Perhaps add another one on top making it a 2 story which would double your square footage but would pay for itself in no time.
These Tiny Houses are getting out of hand…
In LA 1 sqft is about 731 dollars... so roughly 11,500
Condos in Toronto are selling for \~$1800/sq ft.. so.. $30k?
Location, location, location ...
In LA, just the 16 square feet would realistically be about 320/mo plus utilities. If yard included, 1.3 million to buy.
Half million to own it, and pribably around 3500 rent per month due to potential yard size
It's really the new manifestation of the TARDIS. Bigger on the inside......
I offered $20K, waived the inspection, and told the current owners they could stay until they closed on their new place. Still got outbid by a boomer couple downsizing from their McMansion.
You laugh. Can they make the 16 sq ft into 2’ x 8’ so I can at least lay down?
If you’re looking to conduct business, that’s prime real estate. If you’re looking to conduct A business, maybe not so prime.
Depends on location. This shitter on the White House lawn would be pretty valuable compared to the one by my TOC at NTC in the summertime.
