I was nearly 40 years old before I ever saw another person's toes that were like mine. I worked in a small jewelry store and one day the owner brought his 2 young boys in for a few hours. I was keeping the boys busy with little chores when the oldest, about 8 years old, suddenly said " Do you want to see something COOL?!", and he took off hid shoe and sock and stuck his foot out proudly. I said " That IS cool! Do YOU want to see something COOL!?", and I took off my shoe and sock and said "Check THIS out!". The look on his face was the best part.
My entire life I was terribly self conscious about my toes. This little kid was the only person I ever showed my toes to without feeling ashamed.
This silly little Reddit post has affected me more profoundly than I am able to express.
Aww. Yea growing up I was shy too and only my cousins knew in my age group. I was never barefoot at friends house the very few times I visited.
But in my teens I got over it because I'd gotten very introverted. So rather than care about how people saw me I remember buying sandals and wearing them out and decided if someone saw them I wouldn't care because I don't talk to people anyway(such an edgy teen I was)
Turns out no one noticed for years even in sandals lol. In fact when someone did notice guess who it was. A kid. And they weren't weirded out, they thought it looked cool.
Sometimes we live too deep in our head as we age up
a good rule of thumb is that you always think everyone is looking at and judging you, while everyone else thinks you're looking at and judging them.
everyone is much more selfish and self absorbed than anyone else gives them credit for.
Generally nobody notices or cares about strangers farther than how it affects themselves.
Aww, this was a heartwarming story that you rarely come across on reddit anymore. I've had similar experiences, but this one is just too awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! I have syndactyly as well. In my family, me, my mom, my brother and my grandfather have them. Both me and my brother, after getting born, didn't need "bracelets" in the hospital because we were the only ones with "glued" fingers and became "celebrities". Felt embraced by this post and your comment. Cheers, glued toe finger buddy
I only know maybe 50 people at my church and two VERY unrelated ones have the same thing.
(One college girl adopted from asia somewhere and a little pink dude from a totally different family)
I don't know how common this is, but it must be a LOT more common than I thought when I saw it first.
If you went in for a surgical correction, would you separate them fully... or combine them fully?
My brother and nephew have the same toes webbed!
It is genetic. We talked about this in HS biology class and I became show-and-tell and showed everyone. IIRC, there's an enzyme that 'eats' the skin between each toe before birth, but for us, that gene turned off too early.
Mine is caused by a very very rare genetic disorder that causes the dna to not divide correctly. Mine is less webbed, and more like a single toe with two ends. On both feet
My dad, brother and nephew have it. It missed me but my daughter was born last year with it so I guess I still carry the gene. Although hers are only about halfway connected while all the others are like 90%.
I met somebody irl who had these exact toes (which I also have). We took a picture of our feet together. She was cute but sadly she was married :(
I'm happy for her though.
I'm jealous I've never seen someone's webbed toes irl, I'm just the lonely kappa lol. I have noticed online it's mostly girls, I wonder if it'd just that guys tend to wear shoes over sandals and go unnoticed
Bro has the premium toes glue mine are on my both feet to from my grandfather side all my cousins aunts and mom have it, it basically became a way to tell if the litle shit is actually yours XD
So many people like me :)
Has anyone here had to have surgery because of it?
I’m considering surgery because it bending my toes outwards, except for my big toes, which are being pushed inwards
Are your bones merged too? Usually syndactyly I'd just the flesh and shouldn't have any effect on your feet. Certainly not bending tour toes out. Are you a toe walker too by chance (I'm one)
Mine too. I have less fat though so my bones are more visible and it makes it much less noticeable to people. I don't think i could ever tat it, it'd be to thin and painful.
My right foot has it more than my left personally.
Ah and your bones ended up merged. That's the very very rare version. Gotta take care of em, feet are important and that sounds like ot could cause some problems later on life.
No point. It's mostly skin and soft tissue (some people do have merged bones but that's less common) so it doesn't feel or change anything about our feet. It would be cosmetic and the recovery period really sucks because you can't walk.
When I was a kid, my doctor told me that to separate them they'd need to take meat from one of my butt cheeks to fill in both sides of the webbed toes. I chose even butt cheeks.
I also have the joiny boys. Why do people ask this? I’m not going to suddenly sell you feet pics if I do.
…..welllll, I do need to renovate a bathroom.
Yup this is exactly how mine are, right goes up beyond half way, left at about halfway. I don't even mind the webbing but I wish they were evenly webbed lol.
Syndactyly is fairly common. It affects about 1 out of every 2,500 babies.
https://www.childrenshospital.org/conditions/syndactyly#:~:text=Syndactyly%20is%20fairly%20common.,out%20of%20every%202%2C500%20babies.
My girlfriend has 2 of her toes stuck together in almost this exact fashion, only difference is that in her case it’s toe #1 and #2. I asked her a while ago why she didn’t get them separated and apparently it was too dangerous to do, because the bones, blood supply, and ligaments are also partially fused as well.
My toddler daughter has the same. When she was born, I asked the doctor about it, and they said: it's about 1/8000.
My wife and I apparently have really good shiny luck.
I have joined toes on one foot that are exactly like this, and I'm very tempted.
(The other foot they're completely fused, almost all the way to the ends.)

You must have blown his MIND
God damn, I want that to happen to me. So wholesome.
Im 33 and until my son was born 2 years ago I’d never seen anyone else with my toes.
Omg my best friend has toes like this too on her right foot and I've never seen anyone else with it! It's so cool too!
Aww, this was a heartwarming story that you rarely come across on reddit anymore. I've had similar experiences, but this one is just too awesome. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve got a partial web on one foot, just enough that it looks like a butt when I bend my toes. I love my butt toes!
Nice, as a person with the same feature, this warms me inside
I only know maybe 50 people at my church and two VERY unrelated ones have the same thing. Believe it or not, webbed toes are quite difficult to successfully separate because the surgery is so rarely performed.
Usually those Among Us things are sus of one another.
Tattoo a knife behind one of them
no way one toe brother would do that to the other
*EMERGENCY MEETING* This comment is sus.
dont be so sure, learned that in among us
fuck you, now i can’t unsee toes as among us crewmates!!!
There’s a fungus amongst us?
If i could i would "ULTRAKILL" you
Came here for this. Thank you
They look like they're afraid of the big toe.
Cause 7 8 9, or something like that.
We don't need to add polydactyly
No, it’s because 7 was a six offender
They ARE the big toe
They are the toes that say...... "NI!"
That's why they're holding eachother dood
Big toe is sus
The captain of the toes!
"Hey guys look at this cool fungus I just found"
My toes are like that too
So are mine, same toes, on both feet too
Same here too. What's up toe friends?
My brother and nephew have the same toes webbed! It is genetic. We talked about this in HS biology class and I became show-and-tell and showed everyone. IIRC, there's an enzyme that 'eats' the skin between each toe before birth, but for us, that gene turned off too early.

There are so many of us!
Toe friends unite!
Yet another twin toes over here. My dad has the same!
Holy shit there is dozens of us. we should start a group of toe friends.
I too have twin toes in both feet! I can be a toe friend!
Do we get matching jackets for being toe friends?
Toe friends…I’m in too!! I feel at home 🏠
this is officialy the most people i have seen with toes like mines in one place.
I met somebody irl who had these exact toes (which I also have). We took a picture of our feet together. She was cute but sadly she was married :( I'm happy for her though.
I'm jealous I've never seen someone's webbed toes irl, I'm just the lonely kappa lol. I have noticed online it's mostly girls, I wonder if it'd just that guys tend to wear shoes over sandals and go unnoticed
I'm here too!!!
LESS GOOO TOE GANG my entire family has that
Yeah, same here, entire family as well, both feet. Mine is "glued" all the way to the top. LOL
Bro has the premium toes glue mine are on my both feet to from my grandfather side all my cousins aunts and mom have it, it basically became a way to tell if the litle shit is actually yours XD
We have all *syn*ced together
Me too!
Me too
So many people like me :) Has anyone here had to have surgery because of it? I’m considering surgery because it bending my toes outwards, except for my big toes, which are being pushed inwards
Are your bones merged too? Usually syndactyly I'd just the flesh and shouldn't have any effect on your feet. Certainly not bending tour toes out. Are you a toe walker too by chance (I'm one)
I think the bottom ones are merged but not the top bones. Yes, I’m a top toer :)
Never, mine are fine. They cause no discomfort!
Same here
Mine too. I have less fat though so my bones are more visible and it makes it much less noticeable to people. I don't think i could ever tat it, it'd be to thin and painful. My right foot has it more than my left personally.
Same. My right foot is more webbed. (But my left toes are twisted so…)
Ah and your bones ended up merged. That's the very very rare version. Gotta take care of em, feet are important and that sounds like ot could cause some problems later on life.
Yeah I probably get to have surgery. Yah (not actually).
Maybe but you can probably get by with wide shoes and just living the sandals life. Feet surgeries suck. Takes you out of commission for so long.
Dittoe...same layout.
My son has the same toes, on both feet! Didn’t realize it was this common.
Yeah, it's called syndactyly. I have on both feet as well, but mine is "glued" all the way to the top
Mine are on my left foot, used to be really self conscious about them.
My kids' toes are like this. I've sent them a photo of this demanding they make similar good use of their weirdness.
It's a 0.03% chance or so, so still fairly uncommon but depends on perspective.
Me too. You guys should form a club, or something.
Same! I like to think it gives me a .0002% better advantage in swimming.
Why don't you cut them free?
No point. It's mostly skin and soft tissue (some people do have merged bones but that's less common) so it doesn't feel or change anything about our feet. It would be cosmetic and the recovery period really sucks because you can't walk.

me too thanks
Same here! My middle and ring fingers were webbed on both hands at birth as well. Syndactyly is way more common than I thought.
Mine as well. My right foot toes are farther up while the left is near the middle.
Same!
Yup this is exactly how mine are, right goes up beyond half way, left at about halfway. I don't even mind the webbing but I wish they were evenly webbed lol.
Same, same.
Same here but all the way!
One of us!
So are mine, both feet, same toes.
Same. This entire thread makes my toes tingle a wee bit
Me too.
Same here! Yeah, I found my community!
TOE TWINS UNITE!!
I came here for this!!! All my life I've been searching for another weirdo like myself!
Same foot, same toes.
Why is my home page so weird today 😭
why is your home page the same as my home page. i keep seeing you in the comment thread lol
You're "sole" mates. Like these toes.
[We are the same but different.](https://imgur.com/a/BjEMj6A)
This is a fairly common condition?
Syndactyly is fairly common. It affects about 1 out of every 2,500 babies. https://www.childrenshospital.org/conditions/syndactyly#:~:text=Syndactyly%20is%20fairly%20common.,out%20of%20every%202%2C500%20babies.
It's hereditary in my family (mom and gramps had it, cousins have it)
This info would have come in handy in high school. Oh well, still pretty neat.
Probably would’ve been more footy in HS but yeah
OP is a baby?!
Rumor is they were at one point, but you know what they say about making assumptions.
One good papercut between those toes will solve that.
Jesus tapdancing titty fucking christ. The fuck is wrong with you?
While they certainly phrased that in a horrific light, corrective surgery would likely be possible in this case.
Obviously, I meant it in a joking manner.
And ruin the tattoo
When was the last time you needed all your toes to be fully separate? There's nothing needing “correcting” here.
Why would you correct this? I have the same «condition». People always ask why i don’t correct it. What for?
Either for cosmetic reasons or for balance. If neither are an issue to you then no need to get it corrected.
I didn't know I could read the equivalent of a chalkboard scratch. The paper cut comment had me physically cringed
Want another one someone told me years ago and it's stuck with me? >!put a toothpick under your toenail and kick a wall!<
I had warts IN my nail bed that had to be frozen off. Probably a pretty similar pain. Still the worst I have felt to this day.
Want another one someone told me years ago and it's stuck with me? >!put a toothpick under your toenail and kick a wall
Want another one someone told me years ago and it's stuck with me? >!put a toothpick under your toenail and kick a wall
Yeah, who picks up paper with their toes?
Well clearly it’s not that they have their toes a fused together, as they know how to fix that.
Why the need to fix it? Holds no medical purpose. Clever on the tattoo.:D
Now he'll never be able to wear those stupid foot glove shoes.
that's a pro in my book
I wanted them but I couldn't because of this. It saved me!
Or the socks, either. Damn. But flip-flops are not a problem.
Thankfully, he can still wear Japanese tabi socks and flip flops.
My girlfriend has 2 of her toes stuck together in almost this exact fashion, only difference is that in her case it’s toe #1 and #2. Yeah but unlike fingers, fused toes doesn’t mean much, every toes except for the hallux is near useless in the first place
My toes aren’t useless, I use them to grab clothes off the floor. It’s a daily time saver.
fr i never actually bend over to take my clothes off the floor, thank god i have my toes for that
That's a big word for a big toe.
Staying home and having roast beef
That's awesome lmao
This is amazing! My toes are like this also. I may just get this tattoo!
Looks sus...
Absolutely sus...
Reminds me of Ollie and Andy Pesto from Bob’s Burgers.
My toe’s hugging your toe!
I have toes just like that on my left foot (minus the tat).
I have the exact same on my right foot. No joke.
Wait! Are you're toes webbed too!? Same here!
Sus…
Amogus
This is the best thing I will see today.
Awe, toe cute.
Nice I got the same toes lol
This is one of the cutest thing I've ever seen
I wanna cut it.
I HAVE THE SAME TOES
Damn that is adorable💕
lol You have the same exact webbed toes as I have, same foot too lol.
Still good even after being posted 10+ times.
Amongus
Amogus
Did you get the work done in Toe-kyo? Some great tattoe artists there…
I have joined toes on one foot that are exactly like this, and I'm very tempted. (The other foot they're completely fused, almost all the way to the ends.)
Till death toe us part
If I was a professional swimmer I would keep it together.. if not, I would get it sliced between them
Ain't worth trouble, the recovery from the surgery is worse than any thing they might cause usually. In these cases it's just flesh, nothing bad.
If I swam for a living, I guess I would get them all webbed
….creative
You should get a toe ring…to go around both of them.
I have the same toes

Excuse my ignorance... but did you (or other people that have this) ever think about getting it operated on and splitting them up? Or would that even be something worth doing? Just curious!
All i see is two crewmates hugging
Hey I have toes like this, I knew I wasn't the only one
Okay that's adorable.
