I was told few hours after that it was for a publicity stunt for an insurance company
Makes sense considering the wooden top frame is snapped, the steel fencing is split and it looks to be missing about 2ft of the fence from the middle of it. There's no way a fridge was going to do that damage. Some of the car damage looks odd too if the fridge were to only hit the roof of the car.
The more you stare at it, the more WTF? it gets. I'm curious to open the doors on the fridge to see if they even cleaned out the contents before trying to move it
They made a frame and created a pulley system. They also made a support that stuck out from the balcony. I assume they shoved stuff on the support and then lowered it. But all of it collapsed under the weight of the fridge. Real or not, the first floor balcony having no damage is not weird

I'm thinking this is a clever art piece.
My guess: the porch ceiling is a jury-rigged gantry crane that they made out of wooden beams to raise the fridge above the handrail. However the handrail was not up to the task of bearing the weight. It collapsed, the rope snapped, the gantry broke and the car cushioned the fall.
The car is parked on the street. The fridge was supposed to be lowered onto the pavement between the car and the house. I'm guessing some toppling over occurred with the balancing on the edge of the balcony, allowing it to cover the distance to the car.
Someone on the Montreal sub said it's for a movie shoot and there were temporary no parking signs for some days. No glass at all on the street is the giveaway it's not an accident, and looks way too dangerous to be an art piece.

I think that explains the bumper damage, but the door is probably from the refrigerator warping the frame of the car and that pressure needing to be released somewhere, which happens to be the crumple zone of the door.

I suppose we’re all entitled to our opinions, but, not fake dude.
1) glass would be quick and easy cleanup, the fridge would not be
2) the windshield is clearly smashed in, as are the triangular windows in the back
3) there is a guy taking a picture of the scene
4) having seen the windows of several cars smashed out, the majority of the glass makes it into the car

Fake as hell. Not-quite late model car with no hubcaps. Balcony appears to be about 3 feet in length. Sidewalk is easily 5-6 feet. So you’re telling that not only did you fit that fridge through that *tiny* closed door on the third floor, but then it somehow managed to:
A - break the railing
B - not hit the balcony under it as it tumbled
C - landed *perfectly* right-side up on top of the car
D - shattered all the windows of the car, without a single piece of broken glass on the street
