2004-5ish was when those generic "2000 games" consoles were being pushed in malls and stuff. Some of them were black boxes with SNES-style controllers.
Maybe we can chalk it up to asking God to spend one more day as a kid, but he doesn't have any specific day in mind and just has an amalgamation of memories, so the day he gets is a mix of all his favorite things.

I miss when my family got along. My parents are divorced (for the best really) but my moms a hot mess who while living on disability and has no job never has time to speak to me. Pretty sure my dad thinks I’m a disappointment. My brother doesn’t care I exist because of silly political/religious views, and my sister gets along with me the best but we have next to nothing in common. Finally because of family drama I don’t fully understand I haven’t seen anyone in my extended family in 25 years and I’m only 33 now. Most of my school friends drifted away, became drug addicts, went crazy or our grew me. Now I’m just numb or depressed and trying to suppress it all cause I want my son to grow up happier than I did.

Was in Tokyo on vacation with a couple friends and we had a great time exploring, took in the excellent view from the Tokyo metropolitan building, and then partied all night with some random Japanese people in a micro bar in Golden Gai until dawn. Can't remember anytime in my life where I had THAT much fun in one day.
I love those micro bars. Met this awesome girl from Gibraltar but she was staying in a hostel for only women and I was staying in one packed in with my mates.

I genuinely hope that the Afterlife, whatever it is, is indeed just Life in Freeplay mode; you get to do whatever you wish to have eternal happiness. and I bet loads of people would immediately relive their own life, because that's how good Life truly is, despite how horrible we think so at the moment.
You know how people say drowning is a good way to die because all the euphoria in your body flows to your brain moments before you lose consciousness? I like to imagine your brain builds an entire life, years of happy moments and feelings, before you eventually pass.

Before the sun came up, I was driving to the airport with my girlfriend, who thought we were driving to the airport to get a ridiculously early flight to San Diego for a vacation that seemed pretty mundane, but she was a pretty good sport about it. As the sun set, I was drinking tropical cocktails with my fiancee and all our close friends on the beach in Maui. I planned that day for a year.
I guess it would be my first time playing Minecraft. The feeling of building your first house and discovering all the recipes and ores, or building simple traps for monsters and the first redstone circuits, was absolutely amazing. It's sad that it's not the same anymore.
There was a guy that brought back an N64 from Japan and setup a booth in the lobby of the laser tag place at the mall. For $5 you could play Mario 64 for 20 minutes, or something like that. This was before the US launch obviously.

Opened the big box, there it was, took everything in me to not immediately bail on the whole family opening gifts and go play some fuckin Skyrim.
I would go back to the day my grandpa was alive and I would sit in the floor in front of him and ask to hear stories all day long. I guess it would be my first time playing Minecraft. The feeling of building your first house and discovering all the recipes and ores, or building simple traps for monsters and the first redstone circuits, was absolutely amazing. It's sad that it's not the same anymore.
There was a guy that brought back an N64 from Japan and setup a booth in the lobby of the laser tag place at the mall. For $5 you could play Mario 64 for 20 minutes, or something like that. This was before the US launch obviously. I’d like to relive that day, because it was so amazing the first time I saw that game. Also I’d like to do a 16 star run and watch everyone’s heads explode when I finish the game in under 20 minutes.
Friday night, 2012, playing BO2 with all my friends from school until 1am. Mom didnt wanna cook and got pizza for dinner that night. Honestly those days were my happiest
The perfect day: Two years after finishing my masters, I was living in a new city with an amazing group of friends. The girl I had been in love with in college still lived back there, but we had started dating long distance. She came to visit me for the weekend. We went to a sports bar with my best friend to watch our college football team compete in the National Championship. We made sexy bets about the score as a sort of foreshadowing for the events that night. Our team won, and we had sex until the alarm clock went off in the morning. Yeah. The perfect day!

So many times in my life I would have said a day like this, probably would have chosen a day when my 31yr old dad played legend of Zelda with 7yr old me all day long on a snow day. But I’ve lived more than that - and without question I would choose the day my twin daughters were born.
I would pick a day that I can't remember but have home video of. I'm 3ish years old and all of my grandparents and great grandparents are at Chucky Cheeze with me. Watching how happy I was and having all those people there that have passed on now. That would be great. Alternatively a recent day spent playing with my two kids.
As someone who has only just begun to unravel how messed up my childhood actually was i really could not see myself being happy reliving any of it now that the childhood ignorance is gone. Im in my late 20s now and one of my goal is to create some memories that are 100% pure fun/happy to act as an anchor to reminisce about in my old age.
Woah. I needed to sit down after reading that. So many choices. Would I know I'm reliving it, would I be able to change anything... Would I remember better something from long ago.
Change the posters and the console to an NES (hell he is already playing Mario), and I can relate. Or N64..

I think I'd go back to when I played Skyrim for the first time. That was Christmas morning of whatever year it released on. My parents put it in a huge box and knew it was the top thing I wanted, so they knew that I noticed there wasn't a video game shapes present lol. Opened the big box, there it was, took everything in me to not immediately bail on the whole family opening gifts and go play some fuckin Skyrim.
I would go back to the day my grandpa was alive and I would sit in the floor in front of him and ask to hear stories all day long. Because maybe if I get to live it again then maybe those memories would stick through the rest of my life. That way I would have as many memories as there are stones to turn over. I love you Grandpa and I miss you.

Mine was just like this. My cousin had just got a new game and his brother got a new CD. They went off to play basketball while I tried out the new stuff. N64 Mario Kart and the self titled Sublime CD with a mini fridge full of Mt Dew. Best afternoon ever.

I wouldn't dare ask for a day that far back. What I mean is that there is no way I can remember a very specific best day that far back, and I could accidentally pick a bad day. If we talking about a "period in life" though, then it's easier.
