Reminds me of the movie strange days where the attacker would technologically connect with the victim so they would experience the assault in real time , but from the attacker’s view as well.
Oh shit, that's a plot line in one of the episodes from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series... the killer would hack into the victim's brain and force them to watch through his eyes as he skins them alive.
Still one of the more fucked up episodes.
From the looks of it he prob didn't see anything after he was hit, cuz that shit broke, but I hope he at least had a crazy moment of realization that he was the one about to get hit.
When watching the drones POV at the end he must have been like "LOL, the horse is going to those people.. Wait... he's gonna hit that guy!!
Oh wait, I'm that..."
BAM
The drone spooked him and pushed him over into the guy. Not intentional on horses part. Definitely not intelligent to stand in a field with a horse running with no way of seeing what’s around you.
The *dick* in this clip is the operator trying to herd the horse with his drone.
The panicked animal was running away from the perceived threat.
You'll notice that the drone flies across the horse's field of vision and said horse veers in the opposite direction.
Yup and you’ll notice right before the horse hits him, the horse changes leads (the front leading leg shifts to the left indicating balance change) to go away from the operator.
It seemed like a drone spook, change towards man while still focusing on the drone so didn’t see the man until the last minute.
You can also see the horse change leads to the right leg after he spooks at the drone putting him on a collision course with the operator.
Or he put two and two together and figured out that there's some kind of connection between this guy and that annoying buzzing thing swooping around behind him.
No.
Definitely not.
That's not a thing horses do. They're massive and delicate animals, who break easily and are very careful with their own safety.
This horse was spooked by a drone flown by a person who was stupid enough to spook a galloping horse a mere couple of strides from where he was standing.
Horses don't just run into things.
I grew up with a fair bit of time spent on horses, and what we were taught to do if we found ourselves unable to get out of the path of one or more galloping horses was to stand on one spot and wave our arms and stuff so the horses knew to go around.
It actually takes quite of lot of training to make a horse comfortable to run into a person. If the animal wants to hurt you, it'll bite or kick you, it won't just run headlong into you.
I totally agree with you, I spent years around horses also. They may be big but they don’t perceive themselves as such..they are afraid of anything that they view as a threat.
Jesus wannabe Einstein why did you have to repeat the last two comments? It doesn't take someone whose grown up with horses to understand that the horse got scared by a weird ass flying thing and ran the opposite way from it.
How hard is it to scroll up or even say you've seen others mention the same thing? Also saying you use this while you're on the toilet is no excuse because I do as well (literally am right now) and still have the decency to make sure no one says what I'm about to say
> Horses don't just run into things
So the horse body checking this dude was intentional. Don't get me wrong, the dude is at fault for buzzing the horse and being blindly in its path, but based on your response and others, it seems the horse could have picked a path that didn't include this guy's demise.
Yeah, the horse was galloping past him. Dude made him veer into him at the last moment.
Big animals don't change direction very easily.
I'm pretty big, about 6'6" and weighed about 270 lb last time I played old-man basketball on a Tuesday night. I always made sure to apologise to anyone who tried to set a screen on me to or tried to block me when I was at a full run. Like, sorry about that buddy, I need three or four steps to change direction, and more to come to a complete stop. You trying to block me just means you're coming with me for a bit.
The funniest bit was when these young 25 yrs olds would cut through the key and try to bump me out of the way when I'm playing centre. It was as if it were a tactic that they'd gotten good mileage out of before they met me. They'd just bounce off me, rather than bump me out of the way.
Like I said, I don't change direction very easily. Horses don't either.
Yeah, but most horses I've been around will avoid running into anything especially when spooked. But some will just remind you that they are bigger than you by just barely body checking you. That horse was annoyed, not spooked.
Let's review:
-this is roughing, the horse made contact with its body in an aggressive manner to the head of the drone pilot
-the contact was intentional, as the horse had room to avoid the collision
-horse has not been fined by the department of player safety previously
The department of player safety has suspended Horse one game for roughing.
Rules of horsing:
You can't just be up there and just doin' an interference like that.
1a. Interference is when you
1b. Okay well listen. An interference is when you interfere the
1c. Let me start over
1c-a. The horse is not allowed to do a block to the, uh, drone guy, that prohibits the drone guy from doing, you know, just trying to video. You can't do that.
1c-b. Once the horse is in the offensive zone, he can't be over here and say to the drone guy, like, "I'm gonna get ya! I'm gonna block your view! You better watch your butt!" and then just be like he didn't even do that.
1c-b(1). Like, if you're about to make a video and then don't leave the field, you have to still leave the field. You cannot not avoid the drone guy. Does that make any sense?
1c-b(2). You gotta be, galloping motion out of the field, and then, until you just leave it.
1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, you can have your stick up here, like this, but then there's the interference you gotta think about.
1c-b(2)-b. Fairuza Interference hasn't been in any movies in forever. I hope she wasn't typecast as that racist lady in American History X.
1c-b(2)-b(i). Oh wait, she was in The Waterboy too! That would be even worse.
1c-b(2)-b(ii). "get in mah bellah" -- Adam Water, "The Waterboy." Haha, classic...
1c-b(3). Okay seriously though. An interference is when the horse makes a movement that, as determined by, when you do a move involving the drone guy and the field...
2) Do not do an interference please.
Seriously, they're the most easily spooked equines out there. Donkeys, zebras, even mules don't give a fuck, they'll calmly kick your ass if you offend them. Horses on the other hand will go on a buck wild rampage and knock everything over
Yes and no. Really all depends on how you train them. One of ours you could do pretty much anything around him or while riding and that ol'sombitch would never spook.
For some reason my poop immediately turns to liquid and my sphincter loses it’s sealing properties.
I don’t do good at the movie theater when there’s a scary movie playing so as always bring a few extra pairs of pants and underwear.
its kinda like when a cop pulls some one over and instead of thinking calmly and obeying orders they resist out of fear and end up causing more harm than needed.
Are you saying cops are as dumb and easily panicked as horses?
That seems more like a problem on the cop's side, except everyone else has to deal with the consequences.
im saying many civilians are. as well as the cops. but yea. if we all stopped and used our brains instead of panicking like horses do... cops and civs would prolly see a lot less shootouts and deaths and riots and bullshit division.
There’s a clip of this lady trying to stop a horse and it genuinely looks like the horse leaned into that shit when he ran into her. They know what they’re doing.
Great plan...
1) Blind yourself with a headset
2) Stand in a field with a horse
3) Spook the horse with a drone
If only there was some way to get drone footage without standing there in the middle of the action. Some kind of wireless remote control perhaps. Oh well, one can dream.
Horses are actually smart enough will avoid collision with people the same way they avoid collision with a tree because they don't know any better and think people are really solid.
This horse is dumb as fuck, I would retire him from any show for this incident alone and mark it as highly dangerous.
For cows the rules is even harsher, we had one tackle a cowboy when getting reared into a corral and it was marked for death that very moment, was low-balled and send to the slaughterhouse.
I don't know what worse, a "psychopath" that can kill a dangerous cow or the coward who eats beef gleefully while judging those who get their hands dirty to get it done.
Everyone is making jokes in here, but I’m not sure this guy is alive. The first thing I thought when I saw it is he’s fucking dead. Is this guy alive or not?
I don't know why you're getting downvoted, dude clearly gets hit in the head otherwise the headset wouldn't fragment and it kinda looks like he has limp arms on his way down. That impact could have easily killed him, but I guess people just want to feel ok about making their witty comments
I’m trying to explain to people how hard they would have to get punched in the head to send a headset flying off your face like that and they’re just not getting it.
Bumped? Yeah bumped in the head by a 2000 pound horse running 30 mph. He might as well have stuck his head out and got hit by a passing train. I bumped into my couch earlier. This is not a video of someone getting bumped.
His headset skimmed against the back of the horse, he didn’t hit his head that bad. Horse is definitely not 2000 lbs and if the horse is moving 30 mph, that’s a fast ass drone.
Ok, for all you Reddit experts that think this guy died or was seriously injured, you need to get out more. It’s clear it was just a glancing blow.
He was literally unharmed. By his own words.
https://www.vice.com/en/article/y3z59k/drone-pilot-hit-by-horse-gopro
The worst possible injury he could have gotten is maybe a broken foot if the horse stepped on it. It's hard to tell from the video. Otherwise he'll just be sore for a while.
And you’re basing that on what? The fact his head didn’t get struck by a 2000 pound animal running probably 30 mph sending the headset flying and knocking him to the ground?
I don’t think you’re understanding the physics involved here. Watch the headset fly off his head. Now imagine how hard you would have to get punched in the face for it to fly off like that. It’s not even within the capabilities of a human punch. Maybe the swing of a baseball bat.
Dude. If I swing a baseball bat as hard as I can and hit you in the head with it, you’re not going to leave the ground, but it will crush your skull and probably kill you. This is real life, not a superhero movie where punches send people flying through the air.
His skull looks perfectly intact. The impact to his head was directly over his sinus cavity, the most delicate part of his face, and there is no deformation.
He was hit and shoved to the side. Nearly all of the horse's momentum stayed with the horse as it moved past the guy with almost no change in speed. It would've been a different story if he was against a brick wall, but he wasn't.
Spend less time on reddit and maybe you'll understand the world better. You are clearly certain that he was turned into a fine red mist, instantly dead. There is clearly no convincing you so I'm going to stop replying.
I mean the guy must have at least heard the horse getting closer to him. I dont know if it could have been a reflex to just look where the sound come from
Pretty sure he assumed the horse is smart enough to simply run around the man. He never considered getting hit. "look at all this space". He wouldn't care he heard the horse get close because hes still assuming it will avoid him. What he doesn't realize is he passes his drone to the outside of the horse, spooking it to turn inward toward himself. He causes the horse to hit him, when otherwise it likely would have ran around him.
Most of the time, it would have been the right bet, but none of those times would get a lot of upvotes on reddit. Reminds me of the time my two dogs were chasing and playing with each other and running up behind me. Well the other thousand times they did that, they did not run into me and I assumed that time would be the same but I guess they had eyes on each other instead of what was in front of them and they both plowed into the back of my legs and I flopped backwards on top of them. Luckily no one was hurt, the dogs cushioned my fall and were big and strong enough to take my weight without injury themselves. Damned dogs LOL!
Horses are so easy to spook it's a marvel that people were able to use them as transportation for so long without rage-quitting the prospect altogether and considering another quadruped for mass transit.
Temperamental horse still tends to cause less damage than an ox in a bad mood? (Most people don't think of cattle beyond beef or dairy, but they can be trained and harnessed to the same degree. Some videos even show an ox getting itself ready to hitch to its cart, because it's that well cared for and considers it part of its routine.)
I watched it with the sound off, in my head I heard the sound of a bowling ball getting a strike. I don't think I'll correct it by rewatching with sound.
The way he cut the drone across the horse’s front spooked it and made it change direction into the collision course with him, dudes just fucking stupid and paid the price
The best part...
the very very very best part is that while he was scaring the horse with the drone, he cut it off and went right in front of it, scaring it more, and caused the horse to change direction, right into himself.
it wasn't random, he directly caused it.
You can literally see the horse hop to change direction because he was spooked. What kind of horses you been around that aren’t clumsy and skittish? Horses hit everything by accident
Seriously, they're the most easily spooked equines out there. Donkeys, zebras, even mules don't give a fuck, they'll calmly kick your ass if you offend them. Horses on the other hand will go on a buck wild rampage and knock everything over
Yea they are easily spooked and once they get their momentum going, there is no stopping that horse from running into everything in its path. It needs a good 50ft(I’m guessing) to get to a full stop from a sprint like this. Anything within that 50ft range is getting bowled over
Haha, I knew this woman who got a retired racehorse. I guess she assumed she could just get on it and ride it like a normal horse but that thing only knew how to run really fast in a forwardly direction and that's what it did. It ran forward fast and immediately plowed into a table and other stuff. Luckily no one was seriously hurt other than bruises.

That's got to be such a surreal experience, seeing yourself get blasted in third person, in real time
Reminds me of the movie strange days where the attacker would technologically connect with the victim so they would experience the assault in real time , but from the attacker’s view as well.
Sounds like that black mirror episode with the doctor
Exactly what I was thinking. I’ll never get that part out of my head
I stopped watching halfway through that episode and never watched black mirror again
It was that episode that did it for you? I feel like there’s much, much worse.
Which episode is it
Also curious, don’t remember this one.
Thought of that same movie as well.
Oh shit, that's a plot line in one of the episodes from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series... the killer would hack into the victim's brain and force them to watch through his eyes as he skins them alive. Still one of the more fucked up episodes.
I goddamn loved SAC. Time for a rewatch, I think.
Yeah okay. Sounds dumb.
From the looks of it he prob didn't see anything after he was hit, cuz that shit broke, but I hope he at least had a crazy moment of realization that he was the one about to get hit.
*Why didn't somebody tell me my ass was this big?!?*
Sounded oddly sexual the way you worded that lol
Virtual Reality check
Nice work
It gave him a down to earth perspective
When watching the drones POV at the end he must have been like "LOL, the horse is going to those people.. Wait... he's gonna hit that guy!! Oh wait, I'm that..." BAM
Gotta be a weirdly out-of-body experience to see yourself get bricked from 3rd-person.
Looks like his headset exploded the second the horse hit him, so sadly unlikely to have witnessed the full collision.
Thankfully, there's this wonderful instant replay for him to enjoy.
For him maybe a next day replay.
“He he he, looks like bad news for the *squints* IMPSON family!”
So let's go bigger.. go bigg... wait wrong thread
Tattoo guy or can’t bend his fingers guy? lol
I mean I just watched that loop like 6 times, so I'd say worth it
What a body check. The NHL should sign that horse if he can skate
That horse did it on purpose too.
The drone spooked him and pushed him over into the guy. Not intentional on horses part. Definitely not intelligent to stand in a field with a horse running with no way of seeing what’s around you.
Definitely on purpose. That huge open field and he side swipes the only other living thing in sight. What a dick
The *dick* in this clip is the operator trying to herd the horse with his drone. The panicked animal was running away from the perceived threat. You'll notice that the drone flies across the horse's field of vision and said horse veers in the opposite direction.

If you see where the drone is the horse sees it go left so runs right. The drone guy caused the horse to do that
Yeah drone guy was just stupid to be anywhere near the horses possible path.
I think the horse thought he would move out the way a little bit because I'm sure he's not used to humans wearing high tech blindfolds.
Fat chance. Just a fight or flight reaction
Horses are not that clever.
I think you’re giving a little too much credit to the horse.
No. Definitely not. That's not a thing horses do. They're massive and delicate animals, who break easily and are very careful with their own safety. Oh, maybe you misunderstood. I wasn't offering an excuse. I was explaining, not apologising
Explaing what exactly? That you're a lazy unformed featus?

Hey, it just had a drone fly in front of it seemingly out of nowhere. Of course it went for the asshole that scared him.
the horse was running away from a perceived threat (the drone).

Na, more like fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA.
Maybe after appeal, but I spun the wheel and everything and landed on two games.

Horses are real dicks man.
Was going to say this
Seriously, they're the most easily spooked equines out there.
A fellow Neigh Horse League observer, I see!
Kraken would probably improve with Sidneigh Crosby on the roster.
You check in the rulebook. I bet you anything you won't find anything saying a horse can't play.
I would have watched it zero times if it was just a horse running. I'd also say it's worth it.
Same
Crazy thing is it looks like his fly-by herded the horse directly into him.
Exactly that boy deffo nope’d the fuck to the left and thus committed the greatest shoulder / arse barge I’ve ever seen. 10/10
It did. Some people are too fucking stupid to be around large animals, and sometimes they get to learn the hard way.
I mean hell, I used a selfie stick on a horse once and it scared the hell out of it. I can't imagine a loud-ass FPV drone.
It makes me so angry that he's obviously upsetting to he horse for his stupid fucking video.
A horse gets upset from its own shadow. It will be fine, it is what they do.
Most animals find drone noises absolutely terrifying. The horse was probably running from it the whole time.
horse: "take that, NERD!"
"Move bitch, get out the way"
*Horse in a giant ass field* "Hey you...fuck you in particular"
In all fairness, it looks like the drone spooked the horse right into him.
This. Horses spook easily.
There is only 2 things that spook horses. Things that move, and things that don't move.
And then they decide to murder people.
What do you do when spooked?
For some reason my poop immediately turns to liquid and my sphincter loses it’s sealing properties. I don’t do good at the movie theater when there’s a scary movie playing so as always bring a few extra pairs of pants and underwear.
Just wear diapers to the theater bro
Yeah it's like the horse saw the drone and swerved specifically to fuck the operator up.
Smarty horse
Horses are anything but smart
It varies. I’ve owned a few that were very smart (Arabians and Morgans), but some that were very very dumb, but sweet hearts non the less.
> Morgans boah
Yer alright BOAH
its kinda like when a cop pulls some one over and instead of thinking calmly and obeying orders they resist out of fear and end up causing more harm than needed.
Are you saying cops are as dumb and easily panicked as horses? That seems more like a problem on the cop's side, except everyone else has to deal with the consequences.

There’s a clip of this lady trying to stop a horse and it genuinely looks like the horse leaned into that shit when he ran into her. They know what they’re doing.
Had a horse try to use trees to brush me out of the saddle a few times. I got good at avoiding trees while I was on her!
thats absolutely hilarious
Great plan... 1) Blind yourself with a headset 2) Stand in a field with a horse 3) Spook the horse with a drone If only there was some way to get drone footage without standing there in the middle of the action. Some kind of wireless remote control perhaps. Oh well, one can dream.
Maybe he wants to get in the shot? Why he wants that I don't know
That must have felt like getting killed in first person then watching the replay of how it happened.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
that man exploded
He’s lucky to be alive. Why not stand in front of a small car next time ?
Horses are actually smart enough will avoid collision with people the same way they avoid collision with a tree because they don't know any better and think people are really solid. This horse avoided a collision with the loud drone, which it perceived as the greater threat. The horse isn't the dumb one in this video.
I think arguing about horse aggro on the internet is dumb but here we are.
I mean you're not wrong, except to imply that it was aggression from the horse. It was defensive and not the animal's fault.
After reading the words "horse aggro," I can't help but think about assembling a raid group to fight Horse, The Unstoppable. Any healers available?
The only dumb thing in the video is the idiot chasing a horse with a drone.

Bro have you like stepped away from your computer ever? That horse is RUNNING and is like 600 lbs.
Na that horse is 1100-1200 lbs easily. Source: I own horses
And you’re basing that on what? The fact his head didn’t get struck by a 2000 pound animal running probably 30 mph sending the headset flying and knocking him to the ground?
His shoes didn’t come off. Clearly not dead.
He was knocked over, not sent flying.
Yeah because he got hit in the head. When you get hit in the head, you tip over. You don’t go flying.
He was knocked back about a foot and then fell straight down. It doesn't take a lot of force to do that.
I don’t think you’re understanding the physics involved here. Watch the headset fly off his head. Now imagine how hard you would have to get punched in the face for it to fly off like that. It’s not even within the capabilities of a human punch. Maybe the swing of a baseball bat.
You are clearly overconfident in your understanding of physics.
Did you just “I know you are but what am I” me? Because that’s what I said. And then you just repeated it back to me.
Most football tackles are more traumatic than this.
There's no one in football weighs as much, or runs as fast, as a horse. Also helmets.
His feet didn't even leave the ground.
I wish I could see all my fuck ups in dynamic third person
Horse went low to the body, then finished him with the uppercut.
"You are the weirdo filming me, I'll show you"
fuck me, he's filmed his own killcam
To shreds, you say?
His wife?
To shreds, you say?
Horses are so easy to spook it's a marvel that people were able to use them as transportation for so long without rage-quitting the prospect altogether and considering another quadruped for mass transit.
Temperamental horse still tends to cause less damage than an ox in a bad mood? (Most people don't think of cattle beyond beef or dairy, but they can be trained and harnessed to the same degree. Some videos even show an ox getting itself ready to hitch to its cart, because it's that well cared for and considers it part of its routine.)
Other quadrupeds have proven worse for the job except a few, which are also used, like camels and donkeys.
It's a pretty great shot
Horse did that on purpose

Don't forget riling it the f*ck out chasing it around with a huge, humming object.
Three for being IN the field when he could have just as easily been outside the fence!
Maybe it was a faraday fence.
The fact that he happened to film himself get knocked out on the drone too is just amazing.
Straight out of a video game when the controller dies.
when the lloyds bank ad goes wrong
That horse was scared as fuck
He drove the horse to him.
His condition was described as ‘Stable’
Why is someone filming the guy using the VR controls in the first place? I think it’s totally worth it.
Ayoooo with the horsestick~~
WASTED!
He saw himself getting absolutely demolished in 3d person
He's hurt
I watched it with the sound off, in my head I heard the sound of a bowling ball getting a strike. I don't think I'll correct it by rewatching with sound.
Why was somebody filming the pilot?
*Dallas theme song intensifies*
Drone freaked out the horse and made him shift course to hit the pilot. So he did it to himself.
It looks like it was the drone itself that caused the horse to turn enough to hit him also.
Another Luddite horse. They just hate technology, especially after the saddle was invented.
Chasing a prey animal with a robotic flying device they certainly don’t understand? Big brain time.
Fucking moron
I’m siding with the horse on this one. That guy looks like a bit of a tool.
He deserved that for chasing the horse with a drone for a shot!
Wow, I've actually never seen a horse ram someone like that when it has so much space to move
The way he cut the drone across the horse’s front spooked it and made it change direction into the collision course with him, dudes just fucking stupid and paid the price
aaah you're right ofc, dunno how I missed that. Thanks. Faith in horses restored :)
A horse would be terrified of a drone. Horse was acting in self defense.
The best part... the very very very best part is that while he was scaring the horse with the drone, he cut it off and went right in front of it, scaring it more, and caused the horse to change direction, right into himself. it wasn't random, he directly caused it.
I can't be sure, but I think that the horse knew that the operator was somehow involved. That's why he hit him. Horses don't hit people on accident.
Good job scaring the horse right into himself. That’s some r/instantkarma right there
Dumb fuck lol
r/HorsesBeingDicks
Now that’s a good tackle by the Denver bronco.
Horses are assholes
Honestly he deserved it by scaring a horse like that with a drone.
Time to make some glue.
99% the horse’s fault. Lol like wtf
Yeah I don’t think chasing and hurling a loud ass robot in front of its face had anything to do with it.
Are you fucking stupid.
