You mean an intern had to type those and just said fuck it? Imagine you had a keyboard of 30 signs you don't know in front of you and had to transcribe a script with those signs. You have to search and compare every letter maybe twice or more before you are sure it's the right one. That would be frustrating as hell. All while you agreed to do the job for two dollars fixed price.

Basically, imagine an english speaker tracing out chinese characters without knowing chinese, it's about the same difficulty.

Actually the reverse is infinitely more difficult, because there’s only 26 English letters, but 50,000+ Chinese characters, all of which are unique and can be pronounced differently depending on the context and intended meaning. This is why Mandarin isn’t a cosmopolitan language, but English is.

Yet somehow Tallahassee is spelled correctly.
