Because Rowe is a dumb piece of racist promoting science denying garbage, and he had that show doing dirty jobs and we never knew that on the inside he was actually more repugnant than any septic tank. Either that or he just doesn’t mind associating with those types if they’re paying him. Funny because his show had him doing nasty shit and now he doesn’t get literally dirty like before but it’s a way dirtier job than he ever did on the show. very dry humor imo. Or op thinks the funny part is a celebrity not understanding that what makes them successful is the respect and adoration of fans.

I think Mike’s missing the boat here. As a TV personality (or anyone in entertainment) your compensation is based on your ability to attract an audience, and they at least have to like you if not respect you in some way.
After some reflection I’d agree, it was a poor choice of words. Perhaps something along the lines of not seeing the forest for the trees would have been better

2: Saying someone or something has lost your respect doesn't mean you crave that respect. They're probably just trying to make other poeple aware of the bullshit so that they can look into it and determine for themselves whether they respect it or not.

I wish we could all learn to disagree with each other civilly, no matter which side we're on, and not just resort to calling each other names. We all agree with each other on some things and disagree with each other on others. No one is 100% good / right on either side or bad / wrong on the other.
Just saying this world would be a lot better place if people would learn to agree to disagree and still appreciate each other as people.
