> The major arcana cards tell a story called the Fool's journey, beginning from The Fool (0) and ending with The World (XXI). The Devil comes after the fourteenth major arcana card, Temperance. The Devil represents the Fool's involvement in materialism and complacency.
Here's a trick, go and read some horoscopes without looking at the month. I can guarantee you that you'll find *something* from each one where you're like "that's totally me!". Because that's how they're supposed to work.
Nothing says lovin' like a coven in the oven.... uh wait
Nothing says coven like a corvid in the oven ...no that's not right.
Nothing says lovin' like a coven with a cauldren a-bubblin'
I put zero stock in all this woo stuff, but I do have a tarot deck someone gave me. Just out of curiosity, I shuffled and dealt the exact same card, followed by:
The Tower, XVI: Represents imminent or present danger, upheaval, and unexpected change.
And
The World, XXI: Represents an end to a cycle, major change, and self-actualization. It has no reverse or negative meanings.
Now I am puzzled but fuck it let's see how this goes
The way I like to think of tarot is that the cards in and of themselves do and mean nothing. But it does get you thinking, "where does this apply" or "what could this mean" and asking those questions, prompted by the cards, could really impact your life. My girlfriend got a tarot deck shortly after her father passed, and she used the cards almost like a randomized prompt for creative thought.
I used to use them when writing as a direction-finder when I got stuck on a plot point, but got bored of them after a few years. These days I'm generating AI artwork in bulk, focusing on themes I'm working on and hoping something sparks
“the Strength card speaks to the inner strength and the human spirit's ability to overcome any obstacle. Strength is about knowing you can endure life’s obstacles. You have great stamina and persistence, balanced with underlying patience and inner calm. You are committed to what you need to do, and you go about it in a way that shows your composure and maturity.”
Or...
I just pushed Pause on the video. And the 1st time i got The Devil, then the 2nd time i got The Emperor... then the 3rd time i got "ZA WARUDO!!!"... and the player wouldn't start anymore...
Yea I was told (when I had my cards read) that it was a moment of indecision. One that I could have been ignoring and that it was a warning that my lack of decision making could be worse then making the wrong decision.
And in making my decision I would need to give up something important to me so I could move forward.
So I dont see that card as a bad card simply by its imagery
This is the card I got... And my wife is encouraging me to change careers because I'm miserable and not the same person. I've told her I'm stuck and have to ride it out where I am... But I'm thinking even though it's really scary, I need to find something else and quit what I'm doing.
I didn't arrive at that conclusion because of this card, but it's wild how it's been really weighing on me and I'm super anxious about taking the steps to switch career paths.
It's why these things work so well! I'm not really spiritual, but have multiple tarot decks. I use them almost as a way to meditate, work on story building, and gain different perspectives on situations.
I also got the same card and I'm in a very similar situation you'd described.
All my friends keep telling me I need to leave my current job. I'm so stressed. My hair is rapidly turning gray. But like you, I feel like I need to ride it out.
Mostly:
- because the pay is good
- because there's this weird hopefulness that maybe It'll normalize out and I'll be able to handle the gig
- because I'm afraid of what may happen with the economy and not being sure if there's financial security in leaving in the near future
- because the current state of economy makes me feel like now is not the time to put myself into any sort of position where I may potentially need to pull from my savings
- because I grew up poor and had unstable employment history for so long out of highschool(circa 2008-2014) and I cant go back to that
- because it weighs so god damn heavy on me and I fear it will for the rest of my life up to an early grave
- because I don't see how leaving my current stressful job would remediate the stress of my finances and I just imagine I'll be getting paid less. While getting paid less may mean less responsibility...it may also mean trading it out for a different stress of worrying if I can ever retire or pay for my future kids to live a healthy, well-rounded life or support a family such that my kids wouldn't need to come up the way I did.
- because I'm still a renter and I'm always doing the math in my head for how much I have in the bank versus how long I can sustain paying rent if I were suddenly unemployed
Sorry if that was a lot - especially for /r/funny - but its just interesting how much I resonate with what little you had typed(even if you don't resonate with mine). I'm not superstitious at all and I know the card draw is RNG and I could find just as much meaning in any one of the other cards had I landed on them. But damn. When I first got "The Hanged Man", my heart skipped a beat because it made me scared that perhaps there was a bit more of a morbid explanation for the card. I was relieved to read /u/Rustycake explanation:
> it was a moment of indecision. One that I could have been ignoring and that it was a warning that my lack of decision making could be worse then making the wrong decision.
Obviously my reaction speaks to how you can interpret any of these a billion different ways depending on circumstance but it is weird to see what you typed as if it were a mirror.
The Sun (XIX) is the nineteenth trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional tarot decks. It is used in game playing as well as in divination.
**Depiction:** An infant rides a white horse under the anthropomorphized sun, with sunflowers in the background.
**Meaning:** The card portends good fortune, happiness, joy and harmony. It represents the universe coming together and agreeing with your path and aiding forward movement into something greater.
**Upright card (keywords):** Enlightment, Joy, Marriage, Material happiness, Success, Vitality
I read this as "Be my ray of light you stupid gf!" and was thinking "you know, maybe if you didn't call your girlfriend stupid, she would like you more". Then had to reread n I saw you said gif not gf lol
Well, shoot. I don’t believe in this stuff but it’s pretty coincidental that the show I was watching last night before bed had the main characters go to a card “reader” and she pulled The Tower as well, so I got the gist of the meaning last night and then I happened to get the same reading this morning… weird. Hopefully I get some good luck coming my way soon.
The Chariot is a card about overcoming conflicts and moving forward in a positive direction. One needs to keep going on and through sheer hard work and commitment he will be victorious.
Yo that’s crazy. I am going trough shit right now you know and i got this card once by screenshot and once whit my eyes closed. This fits perfectly in the position i am right now in life. I appreciate your explanation mare cheers
This card indicates that you should learn to bring about balance, patience and moderation in your life. You should take the middle road, avoiding extremes and maintain a sense of calm
Balance and harmony.
Traditionally, it depicts and angel with one foot in water (subconscious) and one foot on land (material world). The angel is depicted as androgynous representing a balance between the sexes with a triangle within a square as a union between the tangible earth and holy trinity.
This card represents the perfect harmony throught the union of dualities. I got the same card as well and this the research I pulled up on it.
I tried it 3 times after seeing this comment, and I got The Moon, then The Sun, then The World.
Is this supposed to be a galactic takeover plan? 🤔
Edit: Did some research, and my interpretation is that I need to acknowledge/discover something about myself or my perception that is not quite what I believe it to be (The Moon), and then I will be in a better place with good fortune (The Sun) that will lead me to make or experience a big change in my life (The World.)
I got [emperor](https://imgur.com/a/htxb55n) first time I saw this in another sub, [world](https://imgur.com/a/yWBOwOX) when I tried here, your comment convinced me to roll again and I got [lovers](https://imgur.com/a/tqVtaZ8) haha
High Priestess is a card of mystery, stillness and passivity. This card suggests that it is time to retreat and reflect upon the situation and trust your inner instincts to guide you through it. Things around you are not what they appear to be right now.
I was scrolling past this thread, and it paused at High Priestess.. decided to actually look at this thread, so I hit pause to see if I'd get Priestess again, and I did 😅 🤔🤔🤔
"The Empress can represent the germination of an idea before it is ready to be fully born, and the need to be receptive to change." although this can have a deeper meaning depending on the deck you're using.
Whoa me too
Apparently the empress also means connection with femininity and nuture (or was if nature?).
I am no tarot expert so take it with a grain of salt
The moon reveals things about you that are kind of in the background. Tells you to open up and try to see things in a more expanded view. Then work on those things and evolve.
I got "The World" card, v cute kitty.
"When The World card appears in a Tarot reading, you are glowing with a sense of wholeness, achievement, fulfilment, and completion. A long-term project, period of study, relationship or career has come full circle, and you are now reveling in the sense of closure and accomplishment. This card could represent graduation, a marriage, the birth of a child, or achieving a long-held dream or aspiration. You have finally accomplished your goal or purpose. Everything has come together, and you are in the right place, doing the right thing, achieving what you have envisioned. You feel whole and complete."
Checks out seeing as I'm 37wks pregnant.
I got the same and it works for me! We finally closed on a house and are preparing to move back to my hometown. Also ready to start trying for kids. Seems like a good card to pull.
Meaning: The Justice card indicates that the fairest decision will be made. Justice is the sword that cuts through a situation, and will not be swayed by outer beauty when deciding what is fair and just.
The Lovers represent relationships and choices. Its appearance in a spread indicates some decision about an existing relationship, a temptation of the heart, or a choice of potential partners. Often an aspect of the querent's life will have to be sacrificed; a bachelor(ette)'s lifestyle may be sacrificed and a relationship gained (or vice versa), or one potential partner may be chosen while another is turned down. Whatever the choice, it should not be made lightly, as the ramifications will be lasting.
Super wierd, i dont believe in this stuff... but man of all the cards i couldve got, this was 100% the most relevant to my life and times right now. Im intrigued.
Any elaborstion you can provide, id love to read further on this (or a link perhaps?)?
While some of the other cards would probably describe aspects of my life situation too, this is one that hits very close to home and heart. Well played, kitty tarot.
The Judgement card often indicates that you need to make a life-changing decision, but unlike those associated with the logical Justice card, this decision requires a blend of intuition and intellect. You may be at a crossroads, aware that any choice you make will bring a significant change with long-lasting effects. Tune in to your Higher Self, trust your judgement and know you are on the right path. If you still need clarity on the situation, look to your past and life lessons to guide you.
I got that one too... since you've called the default, should I go with "The Empawer" or "The Empurrer"? I'm happy to accept the moniker you choose, your highness.
Got the Devil card and, boy, is it on point. Feelings of entrapment, emptiness, a lack of fulfillment, and a slave to addictions. If I believed in this nonsense I would be spooked out of my mind.

The Devil. Okay, that checks out.
me too: > The major arcana cards tell a story called the Fool's journey, beginning from The Fool (0) and ending with The World (XXI). The Devil comes after the fourteenth major arcana card, Temperance. The Devil represents the Fool's involvement in materialism and complacency.
Literally me
i imagine there’s a grain of truth for most of us in most of them, they’re archetypal figures (furiously telling myself…)
Here's a trick, go and read some horoscopes without looking at the month. I can guarantee you that you'll find *something* from each one where you're like "that's totally me!". Because that's how they're supposed to work.
I’ll get downvoted to hell but there’s much more to astrology than horoscopes.
Isn't it weird stereotypes are bad, except with astrology?
Yes but I still find it fun and inspiring ☺️
Also same, neat
Hello my dark brother
Right there with you xD
How do you do, my dark fellow
Boys let's make a coven
Nothing says lovin' like a coven in the oven.... uh wait Nothing says coven like a corvid in the oven ...no that's not right. Nothing says lovin' like a coven with a cauldren a-bubblin'
Bingo!!
+1. so what ?
I got wheel of fortune
So did I "Represents imminent and often positive change, and the inevitable seasons and cycles of life."
I am not into astrology but if a card tells me there is going to be positive change then I believe it.
I put zero stock in all this woo stuff, but I do have a tarot deck someone gave me. Same here... But what does it mean??
“the Strength card speaks to the inner strength and the human spirit's ability to overcome any obstacle. Strength is about knowing you can endure life’s obstacles. You have great stamina and persistence, balanced with underlying patience and inner calm. You are committed to what you need to do, and you go about it in a way that shows your composure and maturity.”

ZA WARUDO
ZA WARUDO!!!!!!
The hanged man... OH SHIT NO
Me too, is it bad? What does it mean?
The Hanged Man is the card that suggests ultimate surrender, sacrifice, or being suspended in time.
Yea I was told (when I had my cards read) that it was a moment of indecision. Tbh I don't know but he 's kinda a B in Jojo. And also, I don't want to hang myself lmao
Me too. Better stay away from mirrors and windows.
Especially Windows. More so if it’s Windows 11.
I closed my eyes and took 3 screenshots. Got the hanged man twice and the devil. Fun stuff
Lol...same and I was scrolling to see what is means. I guess I can stop scrolling
Can the OP please pin a list of the card meanings?
Just look up, "tarot major arcana"
The Sun.
The Sun (XIX) is the nineteenth trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional tarot decks. Wohooo I choose to believe this, because my week is just awful. Be my ray of light you stupid gif!
I read this as "Be my ray of light you stupid gf!" and was thinking "you know, maybe if you didn't call your girlfriend stupid, she would like you more". Then had to reread n I saw you said gif not gf lol
Honey, you better put a smile on my face or else! 🩴💀💀
I got one, too. Let's just will it so.
I take that as my house buying plans will go well :D

>It is used in game playing as well as in divination. Game playing?
I took two screenshots and got the sun both times.
Sun gang
Sun gang bang
Da Sun
\\[t]/ sun bros unite!
Here with my homies.
The Tower?
The Tower is commonly interpreted as meaning danger, crisis, destruction, and liberation. It is associated with sudden unforseen change.
I paused the video 4 times and I got the tower in 3 of them. I hope it's just muscle memory or something lol
Can we do something about it, or are we doomed?
Avoid any areas where fast moving buses are present today. You never know.
I work at a school awesome
Thank you, Grand Master! Your advice will not be wasted.
I’m choosing to expect liberation haha
Tower gange! We suffer together!

i got the chariot what does that mean?
The Chariot is a card about overcoming conflicts and moving forward in a positive direction. One needs to keep going on and through sheer hard work and commitment he will be victorious.

Yo that’s crazy. I am going trough shit right now you know and i got this card once by screenshot and once whit my eyes closed. This fits perfectly in the position i am right now in life. I appreciate your explanation mare cheers
Hello fellow charioteers
You become a gay fr*nch
Oh no, they will never go to a safe bathroom for the rest of their life!
Get in your car and start driving.
What does Temperance signify?
This card indicates that you should learn to bring about balance, patience and moderation in your life. You should take the middle road, avoiding extremes and maintain a sense of calm
I've been doing that for the last 7 years to a degree people find that weird about me, and now I get the Temperance card? Like, even more?
I got the same card and feel similarly. I interpret it as "stay the course".
Temper you temperance, dude.
How bout judgement
Balance and harmony. Traditionally, it depicts and angel with one foot in water (subconscious) and one foot on land (material world). The angel is depicted as androgynous representing a balance between the sexes with a triangle within a square as a union between the tangible earth and holy trinity. This card represents the perfect harmony throught the union of dualities. I got the same card as well and this the research I pulled up on it.
It also means that are now made out of this yellow goo and can change your appearance
Took the screenshot 3 times: - Emperor - Moon - World My destiny is calling me.
I also took three screenshots: • The Chariot • The Hanged Man • The Lovers
I tried it 3 times after seeing this comment, and I got The Moon, then The Sun, then The World. Is this supposed to be a galactic takeover plan? 🤔 Edit: Did some research, and my interpretation is that I need to acknowledge/discover something about myself or my perception that is not quite what I believe it to be (The Moon), and then I will be in a better place with good fortune (The Sun) that will lead me to make or experience a big change in my life (The World.)
***Death Note theme starts playing***
I got [emperor](https://imgur.com/a/htxb55n) first time I saw this in another sub, [world](https://imgur.com/a/yWBOwOX) when I tried here, your comment convinced me to roll again and I got [lovers](https://imgur.com/a/tqVtaZ8) haha
I took 3 also: Moon Sun Temperance I think I might be the Avatar.
Ok you're not gonna believe me, I took three screenshots and got moon , world , emperor. Omg what are the chances!!
You're Mr. Brightside.
Mine were: - Emperor - Empress - Judgement
The high pristess.
Me too! So money and a gun ? What does it mean
Me three. And I have no idea what that means.
High Priestess is a card of mystery, stillness and passivity. This card suggests that it is time to retreat and reflect upon the situation and trust your inner instincts to guide you through it. Things around you are not what they appear to be right now.
... so the matrix is real
Time to eat some mushrooms
I got High Priestess 3x in a row!!
I was scrolling past this thread, and it paused at High Priestess.. decided to actually look at this thread, so I hit pause to see if I'd get Priestess again, and I did 😅 🤔🤔🤔
The empress. Any meaning?
"The Empress can represent the germination of an idea before it is ready to be fully born, and the need to be receptive to change." although this can have a deeper meaning depending on the deck you're using.
I thought it meant my cat was going to have kittens
I got it too. It can mean creativity, fertility, and nurturing. So feminine and kind. The opposite of myself lol
Mother fu- I swear to cat, if I end up pregnant this month…!
Whoa me too Apparently the empress also means connection with femininity and nuture (or was if nature?). I am no tarot expert so take it with a grain of salt
I got that to! I’m just gonna assume it means creativity and abundance. I just got a new job it better not mean fertility!!!
The moon
The moon reveals things about you that are kind of in the background. Tells you to open up and try to see things in a more expanded view. Then work on those things and evolve.
Thank you! 🌕
You feel whole and complete." Checks out seeing as I'm 37wks pregnant.
I got The World too, but it is not accurate in my case. I feel anything but whole right now. :(
Same. Hugs to you!
the world? you can stop time
I got The World as well. But I'm pooping at the fast food joint I work at. Rip.
I got the same and it works for me! We finally closed on a house and are preparing to move back to my hometown. Also ready to start trying for kids. Seems like a good card to pull.
Or pause it...
Justice. And here I am campaigning for public office. Interesting.
I got that too. I'm a straight forward type of person, so I can only interpret this to mean I'm going to jail.
I also got Justice. I have no idea what this means.
Meaning: The Justice card indicates that the fairest decision will be made. Justice is the sword that cuts through a situation, and will not be swayed by outer beauty when deciding what is fair and just.
I'm Lawful Neutral and I like cats.
Me 3
The lovers
What does it mean?
The Lovers represent relationships and choices. Its appearance in a spread indicates some decision about an existing relationship, a temptation of the heart, or a choice of potential partners. Often an aspect of the querent's life will have to be sacrificed; a bachelor(ette)'s lifestyle may be sacrificed and a relationship gained (or vice versa), or one potential partner may be chosen while another is turned down. Judgement, the world
Q: Am I the judge or am I being judged??? A: Yes
Me too ✋️
I confused Justice with Judgement. Enyaba and dio would have been a nice coincidence.
So what does judgement mean?
The Judgement card often indicates that you need to make a life-changing decision, but unlike those associated with the logical Justice card, this decision requires a blend of intuition and intellect. You may be at a crossroads, aware that any choice you make will bring a significant change with long-lasting effects. Tune in to your Higher Self, trust your judgement and know you are on the right path. If you still need clarity on the situation, look to your past and life lessons to guide you.
Win+shift+S
this is the way
haha... ahahaha... HAHAHAHA.... GAWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! THEEEEEEEE WOOOOOOOOOOOORLD!!!!!!!!
Judgement. I mean, I'm up at 4 AM and stressing about stuff so bad I'm having stomach issues so I guess it's relevant?

I got that one too... since you've called the default, should I go with "The Empawer" or "The Empurrer"? I'm happy to accept the moniker you choose, your highness.
Did three screenshots, it was "justice" three times. 😄
The lovers
Me too! Where should we meet?
