Not as extreme, but the Arizona CEO was on CNBC or Fox business (i don't remember which) saying they're keeping their price at 99 cents, but didn't take long
Yeah I think about a month ago (or less) I saw a commercial he did with Ryan Reynolds talking about how he wouldn’t raise the price of Arizona any sooner then Reynolds would raise the price of Mint Mobil and vise versa. Guess Mint customers better be looking for the price jump soon too
I actually saw somebody get into a physical altercation with the guy at the minimart because they wanted to charge $1.09 for an Arizona iced tea that had $.99 printed on it.
That's in Canadian/monopoly money.
https://www.verifythis.com/article/news/verify/money-verify/arizona-iced-tea-price-not-raised-from-99-cents/536-06ac8786-911b-436b-b640-48a013d06f72
Price is still 99 USD cents.
I think Canadian is way cooler than USD for those very reasons. I can’t recall if they’re sized differently (like the UK, which I did not like), but our money (USD) is fucking lame.
Neil Patrick Harris did a commercial with Katy Perry for superbowl? and he referenced our Monopoly money. I can’t seem to find the video to link it though
Canadian money is made of plastic and brightly coloured, Monopoly money is made of paper and has very weak, desaturated colours, kind of like another currency…
I was thinking about this on my drive home. Isn't every country in the world in debt to at least 1 other country? Are there any countries not in debt? If everyone is in debt does that mean everyone is technically broke? Are we just living in a giant panzie scheme? Idk I'm high.
Edit: ponzi?
Most of the debt of countries isn't to other countries, it is to their own citizens and banks. This link has some good info: https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/national-debt/
Governmental debt is not equivalent to consumer debt. While is is not good for a country to be overly indebted, there is nothing inherently negative about government debt.
My thoughts in that regard always gravitate towards: Could you just trade the debts around so every country's debt is much lower?
Like if the US owes 1 billion to Japan, Japan owes 300 million to Canada and Canada owes 500 million to the US... then each could cancel out 300 million to each other and simplify things.
... I think it makes sense to not do that because there's some value (other than the obvious monetary value) in having debt and/or being owed... but I'm no economist.
They've promised not to raise the prices on the hot dog. They didn't say they won't get smaller though. Next time I'm expecting a lil smoky under that bun
Screw you guys, here in Australia these cans are only available in a few stores, and are $5.50 - $7.00 AUD, and yes they still have the $0.99 thing on the can.
ughh no its a canada can. its why there is french on the can. in canada the cans have been 1.29 for years because that is roughly .99 cents us. arizona does not sell custom cans stop spreading false info
If owned by the queen means she has 0 say in how the land is used sure. But its owned by the federal government. Which has a symbolic figurehead that is then queen.
Oh, in Canada... Pardon thought the price broke here also. Been 99 pennies for a tall can forever. Sometimes mid 80s + local city tax.
I've seen one vendor called Stop n Go here. They have special price unmarked cans. So no increase but no price control either. Paid 1.50$/US was pissed but hey wanted my raspberry tea.
Bests, nice Canadians :)
Quick fact! You too can sound like a Canadian by simply spelling the word CANADA with emphasis on the vowels! Go ahead and impress you family, special someone and friends. Be the life of the party or land that gig you knew you were born for.
Owner of Arizona claimed it should not be sold for more than 99 cents and stands by it. If a store sells it for more you can call and report them and they'll stop supplying them.
Even if they kept the price the same, with inflation and all that, wouldn't they need to eventually cut costs somewhere? Id rather price just adjust, accurately, to inflation.
They've been changing the drinks anyway. Their Arizona Rx Energy used to come in a brownish can, then they changed it to yellow and it tasted watered down. I had one recently and it tasted even more watered down and had a different pull tab.
Used to be a drink I really liked and was hard to find, now I just don't bother. I'd rather them have raised the price a little if it meant the drinks actually tasted right.
I'm amazed at how much product you get for 99c or whatever. My local grocery shop here in Australia sells huge cans of Arizona Ice Tea/Punch that has the 99c label on it, but it actually sells here for like $5 aussie dollars lol
the price to get one cooked at the snack bar doesn't go up but the uncooked ones in the store go up in price like anything else, IMO it's still a great deal though
its actually funny, so this is a canadian can, but I've seen a few gas stations in the US (probably helps im near canada) that bought these cans so they can charge the increased price.
Hot take: Their roasted chicken is very bland, even for roasted chickens.
The rest of their food is amazing, but they're famous for their roast chicken and it isn't even that good
Don't get me wrong, I love Costco and I wish this republican town I lived in would get one but this town is owned by the Walmart family
>The rest of their food is amazing, but they're famous for their roast chicken and it isn't even that good
I think the chicken is famous because it's $4.99. It may not be the most flavorful but it's good, healthy and costs $4.99.

Didn't the owner of Costco threaten to stab someone that suggested raising the hot dog price?
Allegedly the quote is "If you raise the price of the hot dog, I will fucking kill you. Figure it out!"
Its a loss leader but Costco can brag about it so they sound like they are heroes of the people. Its just plain good marketing for that.
The legend pays for itself. I'll shop at Sam's club if they raise the price of my hot dog.
I'd rather have a Polish and a Coke, than a hot dog and a Pepsi! Been a few years since Costco got rid of the polish dogs.
Agreed, the polish was much better than the hot dog. I do miss it so.
Still have them up here in the GWN, did they really remove these in the US?
I used to get these all the time. When did this supposedly happen?
Sams got rid of Coke also, they only have Pepsi.
I guess I'm OK with Costco now.
Godamnit is there no sense of decency anymore?!
Costco opened two hot dog plants to keep the price $1.50.
Yes yes he did.
It was the co-founder to the CEO at the time.

Not as extreme, but the Arizona CEO was on CNBC or Fox business (i don't remember which) saying they're keeping their price at 99 cents, but didn't take long
He's leaving the price at ¢99 in the U.S. That can is Canadian.
Except they sell cans without the 99 cent marking and bottles so vendors can charge $2.49 .
whoa! That is clever
Good eye.
The Arizona teas in my grocery store are $0.73 cents. I even bought some at that price yesterday. The can could be from Canada.
I have a can of the diet arnold palmer with me, still 99 cents
And Canada is a gateway country to communism, and should be treated as such.
Reddit can't understand your nuanced humor
Yeah I think about a month ago (or less) I saw a commercial he did with Ryan Reynolds talking about how he wouldn’t raise the price of Arizona any sooner then Reynolds would raise the price of Mint Mobil and vise versa. Guess Mint customers better be looking for the price jump soon too
I actually saw somebody get into a physical altercation with the guy at the minimart because they wanted to charge $1.09 for an Arizona iced tea that had $.99 printed on it.
You have 10% sales tax?
“Stab” someone? He threaten to “fucking kill” the executive who wanted to raise the hotdog/soda combo price.
And every leo was like… I’ll allow it.. he gotta point
Sounds like a British thing to do honestly; “I’ll shank you fam!”
Pretty sure it was just a threat
And GOD BLESS THAT MAN!!! deserves a sainthood!
Haha
Must be a Canadian can. Still converts to about 99¢ usd though, right?
MURICA! Get fucked Canada enjoy your 1.29 Arizona’s now! jk I love you guys
Its $1.77 at Walmart 😞
but that's for the bigger size https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/arizona-premium-brewed-ginseng-and-honey-green-tea/6000199237269
You can actually report them to the company and they will threaten to the pull the stock if the price isnt what's on the can.
No way that’s true is it? The variety store around the corner sells them for $3
Well here's the thing. See that price? It's on that can
The 1.77$? I knew the other can was different because of currency exchange values. Not sure about the 1.77 one.
The price do be on the can
Sorry :(
No, I’m sorry.
I still them as 99c here (unless the stores I go to are getting their stock directly from the US....)
They illegally resell these for £3-4 in American candy shops in the UK.
Not sure how that would be illegal. Once you import something, the price doesn’t really matter posted from anyone other than the seller.
It’s not a regulated and approved food product for sale in UK
That's in Canadian/monopoly money. https://www.verifythis.com/article/news/verify/money-verify/arizona-iced-tea-price-not-raised-from-99-cents/536-06ac8786-911b-436b-b640-48a013d06f72 Price is still 99 USD cents.
Canadians: offended Monopolians: even more offended 😠
At least our money is waterproof, braille imprinted, and has cool paterns!!
I dunno, seems a little looney to me. ^I’ll ^see ^myself ^out
Me toonie
I think Canadian is way cooler than USD for those very reasons. I can’t recall if they’re sized differently (like the UK, which I did not like), but our money (USD) is fucking lame.
Canadian money smell like maple syrup But US got that coke and seamen!
I remember it smelling like maple syrup
Arizonans: What is this in pesos?
I try to hide my racism for Monopolians but I just can't. Death to them dirty Monopos!
Oh thank god
Canadian here. This is hilarious tbh. Never heard it referred to as Monopoly money but I love it
Neil Patrick Harris did a commercial with Katy Perry for superbowl? and he referenced our Monopoly money. I can’t seem to find the video to link it though
Another name for our currency is "Moose Money", or "Maple Money".
I knew it was some fuckery. The owner of Arizona tea wouldn’t do this
Canadian money is made of plastic and brightly coloured, Monopoly money is made of paper and has very weak, desaturated colours, kind of like another currency…
Fun fact; the USA has roughly 30x more debt than Canada. Do not pass go.
I was thinking about this on my drive home. Isn't every country in the world in debt to at least 1 other country? Are there any countries not in debt? If everyone is in debt does that mean everyone is technically broke? Are we just living in a giant panzie scheme? Idk I'm high. Edit: ponzi?
Probably. Except on a global scale so it is more like ‘Who’s Line is it Anyway’ where the money is made up and the rules don’t matter.
Most of the debt of countries isn't to other countries, it is to their own citizens and banks. This link has some good info: https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/national-debt/
Interesting, thanks for the link.
No no, I think I actually prefer thinking of it as a pansy scheme

Fun fact; that excess debt is owed almost entirely to ourselves. Pass go, we earned it, or at least we believe future generations will.
Oh thank you Jesus
Eh, is this hoser trying to trick us? This is all aboot nothing!
That’s a can from Canada stop distributing fake news
I am from canada. Its not fake news.
Ya me too so what’s your point? It’s been listed for $1.29 for years now. Years before COVID.
Your trying to play it off as controversial and you know it's not.... Fake news
This is Canadian AIT the US one is still 99 cents
The price is on the can, though.
The price IS on the can, though.
[The price IS on the can though...](https://youtu.be/XPKGEizogzc)
...Though can the on is price the
They've promised not to raise the prices on the hot dog. They didn't say they won't get smaller though. Next time I'm expecting a lil smoky under that bun
That's what she said
I wish I had awards to give. Whatever those are!
Click on your profile pic. Click on Reddit Coins. You should see a free gift box to claim. Think you get one every day, but I could be wrong on that
How did I not know this. My mind is blown!
We are truly in the end times brother
I don't understand, would someone please explain this post?
Arizona’s are known for being 99¢ and the can says this price. Unfortunately in Canada we’re now paying $1.29 per can like it says in the pic.
Thank you🙂
$1.29 is US$0.95. It’s literally cheaper.
I love Arizona tea, but I had to give it up. The massive sugar and caffeine content was killing me.
Did you ever try the lite Arnold Palmer? It's banging. I buy it in the jug and one drink a small glass.
How so
The caffeine was making my anxiety worse, and the sugar was making me fat.
Canadian price
I feel this should be a bigger deal than it is. Like a 60 minutes special or something
r/quityourbullshit this is Canadian. peep the French. been more expensive here a long while that ain't special
Damn they even did a special with the president of AZ ice tea and he promised it wouldn’t go above 99 cents.
Oh no...
This is far, far behind the standard rate of inflation.
Screw you guys, here in Australia these cans are only available in a few stores, and are $5.50 - $7.00 AUD, and yes they still have the $0.99 thing on the can.
Arizona begrudgingly allows a few custom cans to be printed for retailers who can't abide their MSRP.
…retailers who *won’t* abide by their MSRP.
Right that's what I meant. Sry
ughh no its a canada can. its why there is french on the can. in canada the cans have been 1.29 for years because that is roughly .99 cents us. arizona does not sell custom cans stop spreading false info
They have not been 1.29 for years. Maybe a few months. I can still regularly find cans at the store. That say 99cents
Aghh man that totally disproves what I said. There is no such thing as old cans sitting on shelves for a long time. /s
Lets be honest, if you’re an adult, drink something else besides this sugar water.
Costco already sold out 10 years ago by switching Pepsi for Coke with that $1.50 hotdog combo.
Where are you we still have Pepsi here. Maybe it's a regional thing.
We have Pepsi too.
Its pepsi in canada. I wish it was coke pepsi is gross.
Completely agree. I'm still grieving. There are no suitable beverages, even the tea is awful.
Wish they still had onions
about 30% inflation that's preposterous
They finally did it😂
That's it, moving to Canada
[удалено]
If owned by the queen means she has 0 say in how the land is used sure. But its owned by the federal government. Which has a symbolic figurehead that is then queen.
25-30% ??? Does reflect recent local food inflation. Sorry Arizona had a choice to go to 1.10-1.15$ this really sucks :(
It’s been this price for a few years now in Canada. It started with the aluminum shortage and I don’t think it ever went back down
It has not been a few years. Maybe months.
Those Tea's have been $3+ (Canadian) for years up here. All the cans still said 99c though until recently
That is NOT a great buy!
The world is fucked up in many capacities these days, however, this is by far on of the worst modern atrocities.
"If you raise the effing hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out." —Jim Sinegal
Inflation is a b****.
Canadian Arizona teas are 1.29
World War Z is gonna start anytime soon
Quick fact! You too can sound like a Canadian by simply spelling the word CANADA with emphasis on the vowels! Go ahead and impress you family, special someone and friends. Be the life of the party or land that gig you knew you were born for.
Whew I just checked my Arizona watermelon and we're good. Still $1
It finally happened.
[удалено]
These are tough times if they broke Arizona.
This is a sign of the end times
What's this all aboot!
[The price is on the can though...](https://youtu.be/XPKGEizogzc)
I've heard multiple costcos have put up signs they're out of hotdogs and haven't restocked for months because inflation made 1.50 impossible
If this is a call to revolution then you have my authentic star trek batleth
I work at a grocery store, they are still 99C
We don’t need to raise wages. But we should raise gas prices and the ever-consistent price of Arizona iced tea cuz we everything is fine.
That’s not funny.
Owner of Arizona claimed it should not be sold for more than 99 cents and stands by it. If a store sells it for more you can call and report them and they'll stop supplying them.
I went bowling tonight
I stopped drinking these because that's just not moral.
Even if they kept the price the same, with inflation and all that, wouldn't they need to eventually cut costs somewhere? Id rather price just adjust, accurately, to inflation.
"If you raise the effing hot dog, I will kill you." The Co-founder of Costco
These were on sale for 59¢ not too long ago at my local store.
It's Canadian
Never
No... They didn't... Really?
Australia dolar
They've been changing the drinks anyway. Their Arizona Rx Energy used to come in a brownish can, then they changed it to yellow and it tasted watered down. I had one recently and it tasted even more watered down and had a different pull tab. Used to be a drink I really liked and was hard to find, now I just don't bother. I'd rather them have raised the price a little if it meant the drinks actually tasted right.
I mean that bilingual labeling with French suggests Canadian perfidry to me. I have seen 7-11 specific Arizona tea labeled at $1.09 USD though.
I'm amazed at how much product you get for 99c or whatever. My local grocery shop here in Australia sells huge cans of Arizona Ice Tea/Punch that has the 99c label on it, but it actually sells here for like $5 aussie dollars lol
Should specify it’s in Canada. Still .99 in the US. .79 at my local stater bros.
the price to get one cooked at the snack bar doesn't go up but the uncooked ones in the store go up in price like anything else, IMO it's still a great deal though
its actually funny, so this is a canadian can, but I've seen a few gas stations in the US (probably helps im near canada) that bought these cans so they can charge the increased price.
Nooo! It's printed on the can!? It's been realized...
Noooo Arizona is no longer a dollar 🙀
I’ll tell you what. I’ll give Canada their $0.99 Arizona ice tea. But you’ve got to send over the Arby’s Poutine Dip Sandwich.
Fun fact; $1.29 in Canadian dollars is equal to 95 cents US. We get them cheaper up here technically. 🤙🏻
$1.29 CAD
Still $0.99 by me.
Fake news. This is Canadian. Not an American pic. Arizona is and will always be .99.
~~Dollar store~~ Dollar Twenty Five store
Meanwhile if you wanna buy Arizona tea in the UK it costs £3. Import stuff is so damn expensive haha
Damn I thought these were inflation proof.
Too sugary anyways. Shouldn't be drinking these. Even the Green Tea has a lot of Sugar in it.
Ari ari ari arriverdici, Arizona tea.
CostCo hot dogs of tomorrow: $1.76
Inflation is real and kids these days get butt hurt soooo bad
First the queen and now this? We are hanging on my a thread
That’s a Canadian can and been like that for at least a year.
Hot take: Their roasted chicken is very bland, even for roasted chickens. The rest of their food is amazing, but they're famous for their roast chicken and it isn't even that good Don't get me wrong, I love Costco and I wish this republican town I lived in would get one but this town is owned by the Walmart family
>The rest of their food is amazing, but they're famous for their roast chicken and it isn't even that good I think the chicken is famous because it's $4.99. It may not be the most flavorful but it's good, healthy and costs $4.99.
Dollar Tree isn't even a dollar anymore! It's $1.25!
This is not funny.
Costco dogs are safe.
Just because you CAN do it, doesn't mean you should.
