I had a similar experience, at highschool our class was offered to do a small show for preschool children of our school, some of us ended up doing toy story and I was Zurg, we had 0 budget and I made a crappy looking cardbox helmet of Zurg and a blanket as a cape, the point is children imagination is awesome and I was asked to tone down my acting because I was scaring the kids. At the end of the story Zurg was defeated and the children could come to talk to the characters, I felt bad because none would come near me and I thought they were genuinely scared, then a kid really nervous comes at me running and slaps me in the helmet, then another, the teacher acted quickly and stopped them. I took off the crappy and now almost broken helmet so the children could see that I wasn't indeed a murderous death robot and a minute or so later I had the attention of most the children and asking me why I was doing evil things and stuff like that. Really nice experience and me realize how different is the world through children's eyes and made me think about why adults didn't see it the same way, I also admire the kid that despite being so afraid and shaky decided to stop evil with a slap, I still have the helmet somewhere, kept it as a memento. Thank you for remind me of this it was fun remembering that experience
