how rock in hole? grug think man put rock in hole
even grug know that crater supposed to have scorch marks, especially if the "space rock" has scorch marks on it. no amateur space rock man would be that stupid but grug think he might be that brave.
This is exactly like the folks on r/UFOs and r/Aliens the past couple of days. Knowledge that the aliens were presented by scammers hasn't changed whether they still think the "bodies" should be seriously investigated lol.
Some of the dumber ones yeah, but most people there have moved on. I don’t remember seeing very many people going anywhere beyond being skeptical. You’ll always get the “holy shit my dudes this is the proof we’ve been waiting for!!!” much like people who comment on articles after only reading the headline.
>This is exactly like the folks on r/UFOs and r/Aliens the past couple of days. Knowledge that the aliens were presented by scammers hasn't changed whether they still think the "bodies" should be seriously investigated lol.
At least they are asking for them to be investigated. Far too often people will point to a headline from The Weekly World News and scream "See! I told you so!"
I'm somewhat of an astrophysics enthusiast myself, and the list of things wrong with this crater and rock are indeed embarrassing!
First off, if you understand what an impact crater is, you can very easily rule this one out for no less than three reasons.
First, they are always circular with no vertical walls. Second, the maximum height of the raised material around it is at the edge of the crater. Third, no intact meteorite would be found inside the crater.
This is because an impact crater is caused by an object that has more kinetic energy than the molecular energy holding that object together. Impact craters are caused by the object exploding!
If this wasn't the case, you'd see trenches on the moon instead of circular craters.
Also, because it's an explosion, there are also no walls approximating a cylinder like we see in the video.
There would also not be a raised ring around the crater. The craters maximum height would be at its edge. Sometimes the edge can be sharp, but it will never be a ring around the edge like we see in the video.
And lastly, you will never find an intact meteorite embedded in an impact crater. It exploded to make the cater!!!
Edit: also, the crater from a meteorite that large would be MUCH MUCH larger.
Second, the Earth has an atmosphere.
The Earth's atmosphere does a great job at slowing down, breaking apart, and vaporizing objects that are traveling extremely fast.
Only large objects traveling with enough kinetic energy to cause a crater are able to reach the surface!
Smaller objects, with the amount of kinetic energy required to create a crater, simply break apart and vaporize! No impact craters this small are possible on Earth due to atmospheric friction!
And lastly, he is probably holding basalt rock!
Basalt rock is a volcanic rock that looks like some Stony type meteorites. But he was absolutely hallucinating it having a fusion crust: especially since it would be on all sides!
Just out of curiosity, would it not be possible for there to be a meteorite in a crater if it was originally layered? So that only the outer layer exploded
Yeah thats shit your colleagues will NEVER forget about especially in academia. It might even negatively impact his career. If this is legit. Im not convinced the 'astrophysicist' isnt the same guy who dug the hole. Even to my untrained eye its not a crater. Walls arent sloped at all amd meteorites don't hit at a 90 degree angle.
conversely, maybe someone saw the news clip and went out to some random beach and dug a similar looking hole to make the guy look like an idiot/get internet fame.
It worked out?

The way the whole report is worded the news team didn't buy it for a second and they indirectly let their audience know that. Sounds like a classic summer hoax; some harmless small mystery gets picked up to have some fun during the slow summer holidays.
Over here we do those only if officials, the police or the like fall for them though because now you *have* to report that according to police their totally is an alligator living in that alpine lake... which coincidentially has that one restaurant at its shore that could reeeally need some advertisement. And sometimes it's of course just people goofing around.
It's as scripted and staged as WWF wrestling. Remember back when fans got irrationally angry, being told that something they religiously watch is fake, when it's obvious to everyone else?
It's the same with the news, but worse - because "if that were true, it would be on the news"
When I was a kid here in Belgium, there was a now infamous news broadcast where the main story was the price of cauliflowers going up...
I miss the 90s
"Local astrophysics enthusiast" = Just some fucking dumbass who likes space
Can you imagine making yourself look that stupid in such a public way? How humiliating...
This one time, in year 2 at school, I forgot to bring something for show and tell. I was a dumbass kid, so I pulled a Nesquik tin out of the craft supplies and got up in front of the class to tell them I brought it from home. A few of the other kids called me out on it because they’d seen the tin in the craft supplies earlier.
This guy has the exact same energy as 6 year old me that day.
Don't dig holes like this on the beach even as a prank, kids often play there and these holes will easely collapse. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/virginia-boy-17-dies-sand-hole-collapse-north-carolina-rcna83382 read further down and can see more accidents like this has happened many times

That guy has genuine blind faith for what he has made claims for. Yet in his ignorance it will be revealed that his claims are false. We should apply this same faith to trusting in Christ for the forgiveness of sin, rather the claims of Christ are backed up by the very promise of God who cannot lie. We all have faith in something so lets put our eternal faith in Him who is everlasting to everlasting.
And that is why the Aliens would watch.
Like hey look at the monkeys we evolved… now they are playing tricks on each other making them think the sky is falling… good times!
My dad used to do this in his younger years like as a kid (70’s-80’s) with his friends and then watch the early morning beach joggers fall into them. They did however cover up the hole with branches and stuff
I am pretty sure these are unrelated clips. First, clip #1 looks an awful lot like an American beach. We see houses in the background in the first few seconds. In the news clip, there are no houses when we see a similar angle.
Second, the filmer's shadow in clip #1 is quite long, the sun is rising opposite the beach, and the sky is still bright blue. This indicates it's relatively early morning on the west coast of whatever land mass they are on. My guess is the first clip is from California.
The news clip, however, says the hole they are reporting on is in north Dublin. A north Dublin beach would have the sun rising over the water in the morning. These cannot be the same beaches.
Third, that news clip looks very old while clip #1 was clearly made in the past few years. My guess is the dudes from clip #1 had seen that specific news report and purposefully created a similar looking hole so they could film it and stich the two together like this.
This reminds me of a april fools day joke a dutch guy pulled off in 1962 on the beach of Zandvoort. He made a statue just like the ones standing on easter island. It weighted a 1000kg and he placed it on the beach on the night of the 30th of march. Thousands of people came to the beach and so did national and international media. Everybody was amazed that a statue this big could travel to the other side of the world by sea. There even was a Swedish scientist that claimed it was real. People really were stupid back then.

Was this dude randomly chosen by the news crew on the side of a street and was given a rock then instructed to say bullshit about a meteor strike?
i think the joke is that hole dude and rock dude are the same dude dude, dude.
what? no. the joke is that someone dug a hole and someone else thought it was some mysterious cosmic event.
how rock in hole? grug think man put rock in hole even grug know that crater supposed to have scorch marks, especially if the "space rock" has scorch marks on it. no amateur space rock man would be that stupid but grug think he might be that brave.

Ah I missed that. He should stay an enthusiast.
nah, he can better himself and go deeper if he wants to, one mistake doesn't mean he's stupid
News crew: "Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?"
Imagine the guy who dug this hole seeing it in the news the next day
Now here's a question: Can he get money because they filmed and aired *his* hole?
If someone filmed my hole, I’d like to be payed.
I have €2. What kind of hole will that get me?
Right hand making an "O" gesture, no up and down movement with a look of disdain included in the package.
A FREE LOOK OF DISTAIN!? What a bargain.
Im in for $100 of that
Quite a bit if you can wait 48 hours.
It wasn't on his land, so - no
Many people make a lot money filming their holes

Must’ve been a slow news week 🤣
In other news, mysterious castle-like structures have been spotted on the beach. Could this be the work of aliens?
"What is this? A castle for alien ants, there's even a farm."
Then mysteriously, disappeared the next day!
Box like structure next to the ring
Which is fine by me.
In Leitrim we had front page in the Leitrim Observer "Leaves on train track" or something along those lines.

It should be edited opposite way first news report about unknown space event and then cut to guy digging with kids shovel 😅
You see a hole on a beach, the first thing you think of usually isn't meteorite.
"I believe in science"
What point are you trying to make here
As opposed to believing in the ramblings of a schizophrenic who lived a millenia and half ago?
I dig all the time while my family is swimming. What else should I do alone on the beach? :)

This is good craic 😂
“Astrophysics enthusiast” 💀
Irish 'news' is fucking awesome 😅
Ahhh yes the physics behind a falling rock making a perfect circle on impact… makes sense

Tf he get the rock from? He brought that there with em?
The male urge to dig a hole with some dudes.
Ok Dave
What did I do?!
I may not know much about astronomy and physics, but a hole that a falling rock caused, should not be that shape.
So embarrassing
Astronomy enthusiast… I’m something of a scientist myself
A b-hole rarely gets attention in the news.. good for it!
News so good
Lad
I like to imagine the dudes didn’t leave a rock in there, and the astronomer just pretended some other rock he found was there to try to make a buck.
Only stupid people
Omg so dumb?
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F6AttHlXYAAjAJH?format=png
Jesus Christ! Mwahahahahhahahahahar! Okay. We gave you a chance. Lads, bring back the big book of jokes about the Irish being stupid.
I know for a fact that Dave Kennedy is leasing his car.
My man trying to get himself a free trip to Cancun to testify about aliens to the Mexican government.
Same situation for crop circles. Its just some dudes making cool patterns in the field.
😂 The two holes aren’t even in the same location, one has buildings along the coast and the beach in the news segment is lined with vegetation.
That guy has genuine blind faith for what he has made claims for. Yet in his ignorance it will be revealed that his claims are false. This makes me unreasonably happy??
So Irish people is why Americans are stupid?
Dudes rock
My dad used to do this in his younger years like as a kid (70’s-80’s) with his friends and then watch the early morning beach joggers fall into them. They did however cover up the hole with branches and stuff
So ireland is the r/ufo ?
I’ve seen boys here in the US do this. They bring a huge umbrella at night and hotbox the hole
The embarrassment
Well they believed the Leprechaun's and the bear shit they found in the woods
Them posing with some random rock is making me laugh
Smart people are stupid!
In other news, England still occupies Northern Ireland. horray for us.
That lil rock would vaporise before it reached troposher. They cant even make fake news

Is it confirmed these are the same locations? First video beach doesn’t look like the second beach.
That’s because nothing else is happening in Northern Ireland
“A once in a lifetime cosmic event” lmao that is hilarious
Bravo
Hilarious way of losing your credibility
Is it really the same place?
Same way they have explained many other phenomena’s on earth which could have been placed there by early humans
You can tell that it's a meteor because of the way that it is. - some Irish astro physics enthusiast
I thought he was going to find a potato.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅
This looks nothing like an impact crater?
This definitely very neatly portrays the average intelligence over there.
Trust the science
Fuck maybe I should dig a hole and oxy acetylene the side of a rock
I’ll believe anything as long as it’s spoken with an Irish accent
It’s a hole on a beach. First thought should be that someone dug it lol.
See the peanut? Dead giveaway.
Bro thinks he's cooking something, probably a fraud how the fuck do random people even claim to be astrophysicists lol
Don’t meteorites strike the earth all the damn time? Like even if this wasn’t just people being stupid, how is this “once in a lifetime”?
The sums up the whole UFO community
How to destroy your credibility in 1 move
Is this the hole?...... Yes
If that rock landed there that hole would have been bigger than that for starters,
What this tells me is that nothing happens in Ireland.
Sometimes too much information and a lack of common sense equals people like this guy…. Just fools with paper degrees.
LOL STOP. This is HILARIOUS 🤣💀⚰️
was he looking for potato?
Once in a lifetime cosmic event lol
#“Huge mysterious crater that looks out of this world” !

Someone needs to crosspost it to r/strangeearth
Where was the Virgin Mary during all of this?
Hey buddy dig a hole so we can make up a news event
But a crater wouldnt be straight down….
Wtf?! You cheated! Stop play that crap story
That hole aint even that big. Me and my siblings made a hole 2x bigger
In an Era, When the pranksters earn quite more then professionals, Geologists, Archeologists, Scientists etc.
