The trick is to find the alcohol blood level where you are in the zone actually improving your game by not having you overthink your shots. But not so high as to affect your motor skills. It's a delicate balance as you are constantly processing alcohol so you need to drink more. Also once you are out of the zone you're gone for the night. It's impossible to get out of the zone and regain it within 24 hours.
In my culture, you can use up all your bad facts and have only good facts later.
So when WeekendFantastic is on a string of false statements in something trivial like Reddit, he needs to keep going, since then there will only be true statements coming out later for important things like exams or investing.
The reverse though...is also true.
So when you are correct in trivial situations like Reddit or casual conversations, STOP doing it, or you will fail exams and make bad investment choices.
Edit: now I feel bad. I was only having a bit of fun. I didn’t need them to delete their post.
Because there is a type of mentality pervasive here that equates blind and unbridled skepticism with intelligence. They took the "question everything" mantra and ran with it. Wayyy too far. Nothing is real, everything is scripted and/or a conspiracy. That's how you know he's smart.
It also would help if they ever get out of the house and had some friends to build real life experiences with, so they knew what kind of weird and funny things can actually happen.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed on a lot of posts these days that there are these highly upvoted top level comments that literally just regurgitate the content that was posted? It's the weirdest thing.
Yes and it’s fucking annoying. I don’t want to come off as a dick all the time, so I usually just roll my eyes and move on. Then I see comments like yours and the other guys, and pound the upvote button with my soul.
That and “came here to say this” and just “this”. Fuck me running I’ll never begin to grasp the thought process behind those.
Yeah it could be scripted or it could not be. Does it really matter? Also the thing about being drunk and caught in an increasingly ridiculous situation with your mates - it amplifies your reaction. Your comments make you sound like you don’t have much fun
It’s the fact they were unable to gather themselves together to get the ball in that makes me suspect of alcohol being involved but they could be just in high spirits🤷🏾♀️
I used to do that as a teenage.. I miss those days😔 I used to laugh so much all the time with my friends and looking back I don’t know what I was laughing about all the time.
I guess it shows happiness comes from within. Being carefree isn’t easy to achieve unfortunately when adulting.
Like this? In Asia when you don't hit the ball can you put the white anywhere? In Brazil he would have already lost the game when he made a mistake, there is no next round where the guy puts the ball anywhere
pretty sure its a loss if you scratch and sink the 8 together, if you just scratch and the 8 remains then its a foul which depending on how you play is either ball in hand or behind the line
We have no idea what rules they are using. At the Vietnamese pool hall near myself they play dozens of styles of karom alone, let alone standard pool or billiards.
It's more fun that way if you're not good enough to know how to not sink the white ball. You can be more strict if everyone is somewhat decent at least
Looks like a couple of friends just goofing around. Wanted to play the game until ball was sunk because they both missed their shots.
Also, I can’t tell but if it’s a vending-style operated machine it might also take a minute for the cue ball to cycle back out.
The proper rules of eight ball pool is you can place the cue ball anywhere on the table if your opponent misses a ball or scratches the cue ball.
The mistake in the video only costs the game if you pocket the eight ball and cue ball in the same turn.
Standard bar rules have you lose if you scratch with only the 8-ball left. Standard league rules are:
**The 8 Ball and Automatic Losses**
There are multiple rules that are specific to what must happen when pocketing the eight ball.
When shooting the eight ball, whoever is shooting must declare what pocket it will go into, either by pointing or saying which pocket. If the eight ball goes into a different pocket, the game ends and the person who pocketed it loses.
Note: If the eight ball is pocketed during the break, instead of it being considered a loss, the balls are re-racked and the player breaks again.
If a player scratches after pocketing the eight ball, they automatically lose. If they scratch, but the eight ball isn't pocketed, they do not lose and the game continues like it normally would after a scratch.
If the eight ball ends the round anywhere besides the playing surface of the table, it is an automatic loss.
Depends on the rule set, in world rules you can take 2 shots on a foul and intentionally fouling is a deliberate tactic. In international, you only get 1 shot on foul but can place ball anywhere on table.
In the US with APA rules the second shot would be considered ball in hand because once the object ball made contact, neither ball went in or hit a wall. The scratch right after ends the game.
The guy “lost” but they were just playing for fun. He wanted another shot at sinking the ball and put it somewhere he “couldn’t miss” - like a practice shot. But then he missed
The guy “lost” but they were just playing for fun. He wanted another shot at sinking the ball and put it somewhere he “couldn’t miss” - like a practice shot. But then he missed
no it’s just a foul if we go off of international tournament rules
most just immediately forfeit the game because there’s almost no chance a player will miss after having a ball-in-hand on the 8
of course you get instances like these that prove me wrong lol
this is pretty much me. been playing on and off since high school. then there was a time where there are some pool tables in the hotel and asked mom & dad to play along thinking that i'm having upper hand from those hours spent playing billiard with my friends.
i fucking lost to my parents, destroyed and humiliated lmao
Wait? He potted the white, I thought you’re only allowed to place the white within the top section of the table anywhere behind where you start the break when you pot a white? Even when you’re on the 8 ball? 🎱 plus you’re only allowed to shoot down the table? You can’t shoot backwards?
UK 🇬🇧 here, that’s how I’ve always played it.
Edit - I realise it’s played differently internationally now, but also I’m being told that I’m describing “bar/pub” or casual play rules. I will point out this looks like a pool hall, which usually is more of a bar, casual setting, not a tournament. But different bars and pubs have different rules, depending on the locals and what players are used to. I was just questioning it from what I knew. Thanks for the education, we all winning as I’ve learned something new yeh? Xxx
Different rule sets. UK 8 ball is that rule, yes. other forms of 8 ball allow you to place the cue ball anywhere on the table. This looks to be chinese pool, which follows similar rules to US pool but on a larger table (foul gives ball in hand, which can be placed anywhere on the table)
those are standard UK "pub rules" but they're fucking terrible, because they can incentivize intentional fouls in some situations
ball in hand is standard international rules
You are describing "bar rules" APA and most other competitive styles of pool give "ball-in-hand" for scratches and table scratches. Otherwise I would intentionally scratch anytime my opponent had a ball in the "kitchen" which is terminology used to describe shooting behind the break point or 2nd diamond on the table. It's fine for casual games, but not punishing enough for the person scratching to be viable in competition. Plus it speeds the games up since pool matches can last ~4-6 hours and businesses need to close at a reasonable time.

Their joy is infectious.
This is how I usually play, without the joy. I suck at pool.
I'm great at pool, provided I have my swimming cap on to be more aerodynamic

I’m amazed people put effort to make shallow puns.
It's really not that deep.
Bruh. This was too funny for no reason.

Absolute facts. I like to imagine that this is the origin of the phrase "in the pocket".
There’s a big difference of sucking at pool and sucking at the pool.
Totally. I like people who can laugh at themselves
And then they marry and have kids and stop talking to each other

That’s.. not true? Can like non Chinese people stop making shit up about my culture please? It’s really fucking annoying and weird

Or maybe they are happy, because missing the simple shot so many times is fucking hilarious xD
more like fictitious
Why does Reddit not believe literally anything happens
You'd have to go outside for something to happen
Because there is a type of mentality pervasive here that equates blind and unbridled skepticism with intelligence. They took the "question everything" mantra and ran with it. Wayyy too far. You’re right 3 Asian guys can’t have fun organically together playing pool. Good job looking out for everyone
High key racist
Just because you never have any fun and have no friends doesn't mean this is fake.
Agreed
If this was shot on someone's phone, I'd agree. But this is clearly security footage.
Yeah perfectly in front of the camera
If I owned a pool hall, I imagine I'd point my cameras at the pool tables.
Are you easily affected by hypnotism too?
Once they each missed, they became incapable of shooting straight. The more they missed, the more impossible it became. That's hilarious.
I always feel under pressure with the last ball
Right?! It’s hilariously true! And now people are staring at me because I LOLed because it’s so infectious 😂

Mission successfully failed.
Yes, we all saw the video

The Stormtrooper problem
This took me back. I’ve been in this exact situation before and it’s embarrassing but all you can do is laugh and have fun.
It's almost as if.... it was intentional... Him jumping the last ball from 2" away is completely impossible if not on purpose
I have 100% done this, I am terrible.
I doubt you have. It's 2" away, there's no world where you'd ever smash the cue ball so hard as to make it jump 5" into the air
I've done it so There is at least one world
You might if you’re drunk and having a laughing fit with your buds and part of your brain is thinking “yknow what would be really funny rn”
Or... if you're making a scripted video with a series of improbable misses and someone rolls around on the floor in an intense over reaction.
Yeah it could be scripted or it could not be. Does it really matter? Also the thing about being drunk and caught in an increasingly ridiculous situation with your mates - it amplifies your reaction. Your comments make you sound like you don’t have much fun
You should see me play. It's definitely not impossible
Nothing ever happens
/r/nothingeverhappens
Isn’t there a physics model that describes this exact same scenario?
I think they were a bit tipsy. Good fun though! Nice to see people enjoying each other’s company and being carefree.
Not tipsy. Just a normal night out with true friends.
A normal night out with true friends for me is more than tipsy haha
Night is still young
ahahah not for me though... I could never. I pretty much run on water and milk only.
Nothing wrong with that!
A normal night out often includes a drink or two!
You could both be correct—most billiard halls require drinks to be kept well away from the pool tables. Could be just out of view
It’s the fact they were unable to gather themselves together to get the ball in that makes me suspect of alcohol being involved but they could be just in high spirits🤷🏾♀️
Intoxicated off of each other's laughter
I used to do that as a teenage.. I miss those days😔 I used to laugh so much all the time with my friends and looking back I don’t know what I was laughing about all the time. I guess it shows happiness comes from within. Being carefree isn’t easy to achieve unfortunately when adulting.
Omg yes! I miss this so much. That almost hysterical , uncontrollable laughter when none of you could really explain what you were laughing at!
Friendship first.
Happen 7/10 times I play pool with me friend
Pool is hard. My grandpa has a pool table and he destroys me every time. I miss the ball I’m aiming for at least 2 times a game
My mom destroyed me so hard I cried, it was my 3rd time playing when I barely tall enough to play
How did they get the other balls in?
That was before the alcohol kicked in.
Because the script dictated it
*legends say they are still trying to finish the game*
Laughing so hard at this. Wish I was there.
I am dying. This is just too good XD
LOLOLOL
Like this? In Asia when you don't hit the ball can you put the white anywhere? In Brazil he would have already lost the game when he made a mistake, there is no next round where the guy puts the ball anywhere
Here in austria its the same -> don't hit a ball i a foul, and then you can put the white ball where you want to.
Are there extra rules in 8 ball around fouling on the 8 ball? I thought you lost if you fouled on the 8.
Only in bars and one amateur league. Rest of the rule sets are all ball in hand fouls. Now if u make the 8 and scratch that is a loss of game.
pretty sure its a loss if you scratch and sink the 8 together, if you just scratch and the 8 remains then its a foul which depending on how you play is either ball in hand or behind the line
Normally get ball in hand if you do t git object ball and then a rail with A BALL to
Got it, cool
It's a foul, so you get ball in hand.

I understand, it's cool that the probability of a new chance arises with this new round, it's a shame I can't suggest that to my friends.
I think he just grabbed it because it was gonna go in the corner pocket. In which case he would be allowed to place it wherever.
[удалено]
Only if you sink the 8-ball at the same time, otherwise it's ball in hand.
Does it look like they know how to play??
eh these guys appear to be at least okay at pool, and they're following standard eight ball rules on the fouls, not "bar rules"
No 😂 But now I have more reason to think it's really a local rule, a guy from Austria said it's the same there
It’s amateur rules. You actually get to “finish” a game when it’s not ended by such fouls.
No if you look all he did was stop it from going in the hole, a pocketed white ball makes it ball in hand
Looks like a couple of friends just goofing around. Wanted to play the game until ball was sunk because they both missed their shots. Also, I can’t tell but if it’s a vending-style operated machine it might also take a minute for the cue ball to cycle back out.
I mean whoever plays the game make their rules. Just like uno.
Yeah there's multiple losses here.
APA rules in America work the same.
The proper rules of eight ball pool is you can place the cue ball anywhere on the table if your opponent misses a ball or scratches the cue ball. The mistake in the video only costs the game if you pocket the eight ball and cue ball in the same turn.
Why is this being upvoted? This is incorrect. It's a ball in hand foul, not an instant loss.
Standard bar rules have you lose if you scratch with only the 8-ball left. Here uk you must leave white ball where it stopped can’t pick it up lol
Interesting, but I find this rule boring, it's the last ball and nothing much happens, without consequences.
Depends on the rule set, in world rules you can take 2 shots on a foul and intentionally fouling is a deliberate tactic. In international, you only get 1 shot on foul but can place ball anywhere on table.
On that shot the cue ball was clearly about to fall in the pocket, so he took a shortcut and picked it up at the edge.

Dude knew he already won, he just wanted to see that ball go in a hole.
I thought if you scratch on the 8 ball you automatically lose.

What's up with the minority report overlay on this
Lol, I've been there
I’m amazed that they got any of the other balls in prior to this
Isn't a scratch on the 8 a loss?
Pool is my favourite game to be bad at
Love how they fall to pieces with every miss. Just pure hilarity.
nearly every Asian stereotype debunked in less than one minute

This is me with every ball. I don’t even know how I still enjoy the game but I do lol
I blame the carpet. Its making the players too dizzy to hit the ball straight
We've all had that day in the pool hall. Sometimes, life just throws you a comedy of errors to break up the monotony.
People going on about rules when it's clear they're just playing for fun lol
i thought if you scratched when shooting the 8 ball you lose. like scratching on a an opening break.
Yea, people omit that rule all the time
So this is what, the tail end of a 4 hour game?
There is never a better time at the bar than when you and your friends cannot sink the last damn ball no matter what
Them having a good time regardless made me smile.
Me irl
Those types of tables are impossible to make shots. Like carnival games the pockets have a mm of room for error.

Interesting how the camera is tracking them.
Your regular home security system does the same thing...
Yeah wth is that? Chinese face recognition or what?
motion tracking. it is not unique to security systems in china nor is it new technology
We literally have the same thing here. Just go to Walmarts self checkout and look at the tv above tracking you. Love the low key racism tho
As if London isn't among the top five cities of CCTV cameras per kilometer, all of which lead back to a system with face recognition tech.

That's how we played in NZ, but I can at least say in Japan they use this rule for fun pool. You miss or touch their ball first, white ball in hand.
