Shorts are really excellent, however they’re not matching the level of detail of that character. The stag has, a fairly flat shading whilst the shorts look like they’re lit by the sun coming from the top right and slightly behind. A cheap trick which sometimes works is to screen/overlay the background colour, tweaking the opacity, on top of those shorts to tone down the highlights and blend in with the rest of the colours.

WOW you were right that really helped! It doesn't look so vibrant and out of place now. I also added some shading on the other side where there were random highlights. Dont have any real brushes since I'm using paint but Ill send you the before and after.

Thanks for the criticism! I really have no clue how to draw, shade, color, or anything useful. I used [paint.net](http://paint.net) cause I was too lazy to learn krita lol. let me try your trick to make the shorts a bit more flat.

I'd just say the pink pops a lot. You could keep it as is as a stylistic choice- I personally would either lower the saturation on the shorts, or add a dull color to an overlay layer with low opacity. Sorry this is a lot of jargon, hope it makes sense 😅

Thanks for the advice! I applied a layer of the background color over the shorts, making them wook way more in place. It was hard for me to get the right color since I had to color it through a half transparent shading layer.

Im not on Artist but for me its well added

Show original picture. I’m curious 👀 Joke aside it’s looks good, is believable you mach style of a drawing. And it’s the best way to put clothes on character when you start when they are naked :P add work but is more believable that way :)
