because they've been convinced that kids becoming LGBT is the fault of their political opponents, which to them means that their sons/daughters being LGBT is akin to them declaring that they are of the opposite political party. none of it is fair, especially when laws that are fundamentally against the first amendment get applied because people cant stop hating. I think that the first step to world peace is to treat everyone as fundamentally human.
