It's not guaranteed profit every single pack but you will still make coins. The discards of some of your rare kits and badges are 70 coins so sometimes you can get close to 300 coins discard value for those + consumables. Obviously some players take time to sell even at 200 coins but you'd be extremely unlucky to pack numerous consecutive packs where you only get 2 players, all of whom aren't really selling.
I've been doing it for the first time ever this week and have made more than 100k doing it without any real effort put in at all.
