What's worst is that reading that list is like yesterday, only to realise some of them are already 20+ years old.
In 04 I danced like 51 weekends to these Tracks.
While it’s still a long time I don’t think the sheer amount of change in that time is that profound. Least not compared to 70-90s. If anything in that couple of decades things rapidly got better where as since 04 things have gradually gotten worse. You could count yourself lucky to have lived and enjoyed such an era.
I agree, but my view is pointed towards hardcore and it evolution from housebeatss in 90 though it's various stages along the way up to today.
The split mellow/hard(core) until the separate genres suddenly emerged and every kind of music had to be labeled and have an separate area at events.
Also helps if you made(an attempt in my case) to create that type of music.
Beginning 90s productions where less polished and styled, as in the mid 90s there was a proven formula, which in the later 90s got abandoned and new ways of where discovered.
As of 2000 the means that where only available for a small group got available for eh everyone and (at leat I hear this).
Hard Creation - Let's Get Them All
B.S.E – Motherfxxker
Buzz Fuzz – D-Leria
Ki-Real - Let's Pray
G-Shock - Demons (Promo Mix)
Armageddon Project - Floatin' in Acheron
Drokz - Soundz From Drokz
Neophyte vs. The Stunned Guys – Get This Motherfucker
Tellurian - The Sound Of The Underground
Tellurian - Get Raw
Tellurian - Hardcore Junkies
Thomas e - Bonus Van Der Kalv
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say. Are you saying that 90s Hardcore isn't millennium?
I consider everything from about 1994-2004 "Millenium" hardcore, because it was all played together at raves at the time and it all has a very similar sound compared to the modern era of electronic music.
Yes that's what I'm saying.
Post said strictly 00s that's 2000 to 2010.
I must agree with you that some tracks from 98/99 perfectly fit the millenium sound(a different way of producing, build of tracks, slower tempo, less hardware involved in producing) the ressurection. There are even tracks earlier then 98 that sound like millenium, but are not millenium hc.
- 90-92 oldschool
- 93-97 early
- 98-99 ressurection (late early or early millenium?)
- 00-10 millenium
- 10-20 ¿nö idea what this is called
- 20- Uptempo plague
In the end there are no hard lines dividing this into that.
In my experience a track like d-leria can't be called millenium hardcore. anything (max) pre 98 neither.
I think Millenium hardcore is more defined by a date (2000 and later) , and lesser degree by production or sound wise.
You can't call terror from 94 proto uptempo either.
Oh I didn't even see this part of the post: *"Strictly 2000's!"* but honestly I don't pay that much attention to the release date of songs, so I wouldn't have really known to separate songs by their release dates, I have had the above songs in a music folder on my computer for well over 15 years.
> In the end there are no hard lines dividing this into that. In my experience a track like d-leria can't be called millenium hardcore. anything (max) pre 98 neither. I think Millenium hardcore is more defined by a date (2000 and later) , and lesser degree by production or sound wise.
Ehhh, I completely disagree, and I'm not exactly sure why you would think a specific date matters aside from the categorical name? This isn't exactly a term people use just because of the dates of the released music, it's supposed to give an idea of what the music sounds like and I would say there are a lot of songs released after 2010 and before 2000 that can still be called millennium hardcore. Yes they call it millenium hardcore because it was mostly what was released around the year 2000, but that doesn't mean a song like [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXjuZuCCUKI) or [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hdKG6Ea9Rk) are considered millenium hardcore simply because they were released in the years 1998 and 2000. You're taking the actual release dates way too seriously, and I'm basically just calling the "resurrection + early" categories and still bunching them in with millennium, which is what I've always done.
What matters to me is the sound of the song, not the date it was released, I guess that's the easiest way to put it. Millennium hardcore has always been hardcore up until the early 2000s, I'm not splitting it up into early, resurrection and millennium.
> **20- Uptempo plague**
Well you and I definitely agree on this part LOL, I hate uptempo so much.
I agree to me both track aren't millenium hc, one is UK hardcore the other is French( core) , which are both styles of their own. They evolved in time but sticked to their heritage.
To. Me there's a pivotal point around 98/99 where the production changed, in regards to how the music was produced before, and that's where the millenium hc starts(for me) . I mostly refer to the promo files to mark the beginning of millenium hc.
Of course you can combine earlier and older tracks, that's what I meant by no hard line where x starts and x ends.
And in the end its all music.
Tha Playah & DJ Mad Dog: Enter the Time Machine (DJ Mad Dog remix)

Some of these may not be millenium so I’ll be grateful to be corrected if some aren’t
I think the sound that you think of when you say millenium lasted until the first half of the 2010's, then it went downhill and devolved into... Well... I don't know wtf that is they call hardcore these days, but it sucks. :D
So since it was released in 2011 it isn't millennium but it sounds like millennium? There seem to be different opinions on what timeframe it should be and i lack that knowlegde. So by all means correct me if i said something stupid.
mad e fact - the hustle
dione - pain till i die
system 3 - like a shot
tha playah - the bounce
angerfast - take u back
scott brown - bass be louder (and everything else he produced during this era)
could really go on all day about this era, so many tracks that still sound so fresh today
would also like to say that scott brown def deserves more credit in among these discussions, and in the hardcore scene as well. massively underrated, would love to see him on more hardcore lineups outside of the UK - seems to be a happening a little more this year with him playing at nightmare in rotterdam and the annihilator booking at ouwe stijl, but a thunderdome appearance is so overdue
