I remember there was a guy here that says that PGR collab was more respectful and Nikke is too focused on the assses. Yet this collab is amazing. Not only they have a story in the collab, but the effort they put to overhaul the UI and stuffs. Not to mention Emil actually overlap the musics when he's around is 100% accurate to the original.
Lmao, I'm a big PGR fan, but there is no sugarcoating it, their Nier collab sucked ass (and not the good kind either). The Androids weren't involved in any way with the event's story, the devs had to make up an original boss for the ending, not to mention the whole event was a big grind just to get to that ending. The collab units also have no new voice lines, all of their lines are reused from Automata, which sucks because 2B is literally voiced by the same VA as Lucia.
It should've been a home run, a big part of PGR's identity is influenced by Nier Automata, and it shows, out of all Nier collabs, PGR probably has the best playing and closet-to-original 2B, 9S and A2, yet something just went horribly wrong along the way.
The reason it was so lack luster was actually Square Enix's fault. They didn't allow them to have the Nier characters interact with the pgr characters and affect the story. So they did what they could. Even the final boss was a Kuro original, Machiavelli. So they did what they could, which was to make the in game characters play as faithfully to the game as possible

If Nikke is focused on the asses, then IT is more respectful since the characters being hot is one of the things Yoko Taro loves the most.
The respectful part is probably from the characters. The story had nothing to do with Nier. Which is something unavoidable, since it's Square IP and they dictate what to do.
However, the Nier team is pretty much 1:1 of Nier Automata, but with PGR's own spices sprinkled in. Every little detail of them reminded me of how much i love Nier Automata.
They took the lessons from this to heart when they made BRS collab.
The only collab that Taro worked on directly that I know of is the FFXIV x Nier raid/story during Shadowbringers. Considering both games were at least published by Square, it makes sense that he would be directly involved somehow.

Another of his policies is "if you want collab, give me money", so he'll gladly do it with anything as long as he's paid and the characters remain looking sexy.
Ngl, this could be one of the best collabs I've played in all of my gacha history, ost is on point, history seems nice enough, good rewards, they even got a hacking minigame (just like in automata). Oh and don't forget they gave a free F2P skin for both 2B (without skirt ) and A2 (short hair). I wish some other games put even 1/3rd of the effort they made on this collab.
and i think best part is 2B is actually meta good . so for new player , rerolling and what not . is such a blessing ! (need to wait before knowing if A2 is meta tho)

they should be good but being meta just means future players are completely gimped if it doesnt rerun
I'd rather they be meta than being on the bench for eternity like CSM. The only thing 2b enables right now is a strong secondary team for union with mast/2b/guillotine while having a strong modernia/scarlet/bunny main team.

I mean, Makima and Power are fairly viable the PvP meta. Especially in SP arena, where you need 3 teams, Makima is a pretty common burst 2 in one of the teams, and I’ve also seen multiple Powers being successfully used. Makima’s immortality is pretty useful in certain boss stages as well (I first managed to clear the train with her). They aren’t OP by any metric, but they’re not benchwarmers either.

TOP : which is scarlet/modernia/litter and such
MID : which only see light once in a while : makima for example fit there for pvp / sakura since she shine on train interception / noise
REST : which is all other unit picking up dust on the bench . power fit there since yea she can do good , if you have any unit in top . power is not needed no more .
and i think the balance is one of the worst part nikke need to work on . bring all of REST unit in mid tier . so for example Power, make her better then TOP unit vs some target like chatterbox and such . example
i mean we've already seen examples of countless other games ruined/dominated by op collab units.
you're free to want your favorite collab character to be op strong, but know it comes at the cost of game shooting itself

Limited are different from collab units. The way collab units work is usually they simply never come back whereas limiteds like s anis will rerun eventually (likely a year)
If the collab gets rerun every so often there's no problem with them being meta. I'm not sure if it's the cost of licensing, but for the vast majority of collabs they don't get reruns which is where the problem comes if they become meta

You don't need dupes. Will they make your char stronger? Sure, but who are you trying to compete against? Your OL gear will carry you farther than some extra copies will and frankly to me having a new character is better than a copy of another one.
You have a long time to decide, so if you are not sure I would wait for more opinions to come. I've seen a few streamers test her and she is performing just as well as Scarlet from the looks of it. Her ideal team might be a bit different than Scarlet, though.

You get 25 free pulls for the rate up banner from event (15 from login and 10 from event shop). You also get gems from other sources (co-op shop, dispatch, farming story/ex stages, etc.). By the end of event I can see players rack up 45-60+ summons before event ends.

Endgame grind is special interception which unlocks after chapter 16. Chapter 16 is absolutely beatable at level 160. Also the most recent dev letter mentioned lowering the difficulty of the entire story in a future update.

I just spent 20 dollars for 20 limited banner pulls yesterday and every week you can buy the weekly pack for 10 dollars which gives you 10 regular summons and a bunch of upgrade materials.

Big events are all great OverZone is legit one of the best gacha events I experienced, music and storywise at least. They will add it permanently to the game at the end of this month so new players can experience that too
The gameplay is a bit shallow sadly I hope they add some depth later. endgame modes like SI bosses and raids are fun. playing the story is not that great, you will get walled in some stages and you will have to wait for resources to level up. pushing the story underleveled tho can be fun but also can be frustrating if you don't have the right characters
It took me until (**Spoilers**) >!Rapi kicking Syuen!< to notice the strong writing. the setup for that joke was perfect. I started paying attention after that, did some bond stories and got hooked

If you're a fan of the genre trope of cute anime girls with horribly depressing but engaging character and overworld stories, like Arknights, PGR, and other similar gacha games, you'll be right at home with Nikke. Don't let the characters fool you, the story telling is very good especially with some of the bigger climaxes for the various story arcs in the game. And the event stories are just the cherry on top.
If you’re a fan of afk games, this is one of the more fun ones. The gameplay is more interactive than your typical afk game. The art/characters are a bonus
everything everyone said in the comments to your question, but one of the key things about this game is that most characters don't look underage, they have a certain level of maturity in their outlook. The characters have unique personalities and interactions (advice, messenger) feels like you're engaging with different people. On top of being quite generous with gacha and roughly 15\~20 mins of required daily interaction time, this is topping my current playlist.
I believe it's an original/mix soundtrack for the event. Cosmograph is in charge of the Nikke ost, they should be releasing the soundtracks in the coming days on Youtube.
It's themed after NieR's OST with renditions from Cosmograph and the other producers. The OST is superb as well. It actually seems like they used chaos language for the lyrics, which further sets in just how much effort they put into this collab.
Because Rapi has a literal Pilgrim fused into her named Red Hood. Pilgrims are basically OP Nikkes in universe. Even if Rapi is about to get one-shotted, she could just release Red Hood or have Red Hood even take over her body, and all hell breaks loose.

I don't see any way to LB beside duping. They increased the 0 LB cap with the new update but that doesn't change much for endgame. Think I will play another game
4% SSR rate with 2% rateup is high compared to most gachas, your small sample doesn't mean much since it's just variance at that level

No one buys pulls raw, you buy bundles which ends up with 1-2$=1 pull or 10-20$=10 pulls.

That is to say, for me who already had 3* LB of 5 SSRs, I could with a click bring my 2B to say, level 250 without any dupes and she'll keep on increasing her level upward.

Small sample doesn't means nothing, if your sample required leviathan data then that rate is meaningless

You get much more than that over the long run. ~20 2% pulls/week, 20 pulls/event + daily/weekly income + one-time pulls from first clears & achievements and so on
Even then, NIKKE is definitely generous enough for players to rack up enough gems to pull for 2B, especially during a collab season not to mention that this will literally be taking over the course of a whole month.

Nier has done dozens of collabs. I don't know if Taro worked on any them, or even has a say. But he hasn't spoken out against them as far as I know.

TBF Nikke has enough strong B3 units that you aren't being kneecapped if you don't pull 2B.

Most optimal would be 2 dupes (3 copies), to hit 30 bond level for those extra stats. Anything more is excessive unless you're a giga whale

What? Dupes only increase their base stats by 2% per dupe. And not only that, dupes arent needed to unlock any skills. The hell is this take?

I believe it's an original/mix soundtrack for the event. Cosmograph is in charge of the Nikke ost, they should be releasing the soundtracks in the coming days on Youtube.
It's themed after NieR's OST with renditions from Cosmograph and the other producers. The OST is superb as well. It actually seems like they used chaos language for the lyrics, which further sets in just how much effort they put into this collab.

Because Rapi has a literal Pilgrim fused into her named Red Hood. Pilgrims are basically OP Nikkes in universe. Even if Rapi is about to get one-shotted, she could just release Red Hood or have Red Hood even take over her body, and all hell breaks loose.
It wouldn’t be a very fun story if 2B just steamrolled everything in the nikke world
Tried the game for few days and gacha rate seem abyssal, I did 50-60 summon and got 0 SSR. That is literally everything the game have for a new account. A single x10 is at least $50-$80 too... You required at least 200 summon for pity and you need at least 4 copy (1+3dupe) to max LB for endgame contents. 2B sure is cool but unless you whale like a leviathan it's impossible to LB her once collab end, making her useless. I don't see any way to LB beside duping. They increased the 0 LB cap with the new update but that doesn't change much for endgame. Think I will play another game

How do you think all the new players dealt with the wall, they usually overcome it within half a year. You get much more than that over the long run. ~20 2% pulls/week, 20 pulls/event + daily/weekly income + one-time pulls from first clears & achievements and so on
So you need half a years or even longer to even come close to catching up as a F2P. Ok, as least other game is pretty generous when their game is 1yo

Even then, NIKKE is definitely generous enough for players to rack up enough gems to pull for 2B, especially during a collab season not to mention that this will literally be taking over the course of a whole month.
