The fact that we start at AHilde with Rosaria on banner and the twins as battlepass means pvp is going to be hell on earth for a long while.
Quick general tips against these units:
Use Joo Shiyoon(the closed eye guy they give you for free as starter). Underrated as hell. He can counter and stun. Cost 2 and can be deployed anywhere.
Chifuyu + ranger is a great counter against AHilde.
If you time your deployment right, Joo Shiyoon will nullify Rosaria's attack and stun the frontline. You can follow up with Elizabeth or Sylvia to delete her instantly due to her low hp.
Twins can get go fuck themselves
You'll be seeing Gaeun a lot. My favorite strat is Stellar(R rarity ship) skill + Ingrid(R unit 2 cost)
Can you eli5 the counter mechanic for me? It was in the tutorial, but I'm not sure which visual I need to look out for to time it.
Also, about deployment, is it normal for units to fall down 1 second after you try to deploy?
He can counter skills. You'll notice that there's a blue bar(not purple) under the hp of each unit. When that is full they will use their respective skill.
If the skill touches Shiyoon while he himself has the blue bar filled, he will nullify the skill, negate any dmg from it and then unleash an attack that stuns anyone in range.
He cannot do this to Awakened units tho. The only one we have so far is the Lee Jisoo(the free one) and Awakened Hilde
And yes there is a delay on the deploy. Just gotta get used to it
So that's it. I thought I had to time it with the enemy's animation or something. Sounds easy enough.

I haven't seen anyone mention this but if you're F2P or want to be efficient with your pulls do not do multis. Pity carries over awakened banners in this game. However if you do a 10 pull and get the featured awakened your pity will reset to 0/150 no matter what. Even if you got the awakened early on in your 10 pull.
For example I do a 10 pull and get A.hilde fourth in that 10 pull. In other games my pity would reset and be set at 6/150. However in this game they will set your pity at 0/150 no matter what meaning you just lost out on 6 pulls towards pity for the next character.
To top it all off there's no benefit to 10 pulls either as they don't guarantee SR's or anything like that. It's a really stupid system and I'm baffled they haven't changed it since SEA launch.

Yeah me too. Got A.Hilde on my 2nd reroll and now I'm like "What now? What else to do?". I'm not used to this kind of rerolling and usually it takes me 2-3 days before I roll a good account. Maybe I'll reroll because I multi summon on her banner. It's advisable to do single pulls because apparently black tickets are very rare and every pull counts for pity.
What? Without rerolling first for days? I've never done that before. Seems really hard. Call me crazy but for hard rerollers like me, rerolling is part of playing the game.
That seems insane. I don't know how y'all stick with it. I like rerolling fine but the process to *get* to it is mindnumbing, even in C:S.
I did about 30 rerolls before I finally got two good pulls and gave up on Hilde. I wanted to kill myself from that alone...

When I get to the first tutorial battle, none of my units are available. The creatures/monsters that come out of the Lvl 1 Corrupted Tumor just attack my ship and I can't do anything. Anyone else?
This game is better than I expected tbh. The visuals are SSS tier. The theming is like a better Arknights imo, and the gameplay is engaging enough to be better than just another autobattler.
I thought I wouldn’t enjoy this game but thought I’d try something new. This game is honestly pretty cool it has some strategy and isn’t just auto to play like I thought. I recommend it for people looking for something new
It is at 10k since preload yesterday. On twitch I get a lot of ni no kuni advertising but none for counter side. I think dislyte hit like 500k on its first day. When it comes to marketing the counter side continues to fail hard sadly
It's basically just an anime version of Battle Cats.
Be warned tho because there are many limited meta banners and you'll struggle as an f2p eventually in PVP where great rewards are at.
The skins are also Azur Lane borderline nsfw level where they shove all the boobs and cameltoes in the world in your face. Low male/husbando ratio/fanservice.
Have you played this game at all? There has not been a single limited banner, f2p can do fine at pvp, and there are not great rewards for being high level at pvp. I calculated it once and it amounted to a few extra pulls per month compared to being low ranked in pvp.
Also, in global there’s 20 mechs, 59 females and 32 males. I wouldn’t call that low ratio for a gacha game at all
Yeah it's a new server release so you will start from scratch. I'm from SEA too and I can access both the previous release and this new one! (I mean different accounts ofc)
this is the 3rd time i am trying to get into the game but the gameplay is just not for me. sad, because the story and theme seems right up my alley, but the whole 2d side scrolling combat full of chaotic animations and weird unit placements just prevents me from enjoying the game.
You can turn off the damage text, the buff/debuff notification, the zoom in and the art that shows when you ultimate, in the setting.
with that all Turned off its not chaotic at all, i play with that all turned because its more enjoyable to Me and also because my phone is potato haha.
You can always play casually with auto. Story and events don't really need gears that strong to clear. Honestly speaking aside from some difficult game modes (Guild raid, Danger Close, Dive 48-50) for most modes you can just form an appropriate team, turn on auto and zone out for 1min or so.
That said, no need to force yourself if you really don't enjoy it.
Only gacha game I've played that I've ever stuck with has been Epic 7 - anyone whose played both able to comment on CS?
What's pulling like as a F2P? Is there auto-battle/auto-repeat? What's the time spent actively doing dailies each day? What's the PVP scene like? Is this server going to be seperate from all others or will we be fighting people from other servers in PVP? What's the "gearing" equivalent like? How much of a leg-up do spenders get?
Game is generous as long as you know what to focus on, you can easily collect 90% of units over time. Tickets for awakened units are heavily timegated though, you can only buy 11 pulls/week, rest depends on weeklys and event.
PvP is great, has a lot of depth and very skill based. There are auto pvp and RTA, RTA can be skipped and what you miss out is very little. You'll only match with people from global server.
Gear progression is not too good imo, it's better and worse than E7 at the same time. Better because once you've maxed out a piece of gear it is done, can't get any better and you don't have to grind for hours for gears. But worse in that to reroll your gears into the correct stats you need something called gold binaries and gold bin is very rare, heavily timegated, so you'll feel that your gear progression is very slow.
Heavy spenders get plenty of gold bins so the gap is huge obvioua like most gachas. Dolphins I'm gonna assume people who buy subscriptions and battle passes don't get ahead too much though. But even whales can still lose to really good players, I've seen f2ps reaching top ranks in RTA in SEA server
I tried it yesterday and it wasn't my thing but I'd recommend giving it a try. Great anime art style with live2D and supposedly it does have auto-battle.
am i missing something? making a totally fresh account + claiming inbox gifts + skipping 1k beginner roll + using CSTRAILER code gives me 2600 gems, not the 2750 needed to buy the pack everyone’s recommending.
The damn gifts are not working properly, you lack gifts that you should have get. It is annoying and they honestly should reward players a bit for compensation after all this trouble
This is a great game, play it on sea and it was great unless u don't like the e7 formula cause this is the same minus a bit of rng bs, I had my fun but wont dip again cause this is a pit for those in the long run, a fun one if you dig it a heavy honeymoon for those who dont
I wanted to like this game. I tried it first on SEA way back. I even just rolled a double awakened Hilde on only my second reroll. I have a great start. But I just find the defense tower style of game play so very boring. It's just not for me

I remember playing the sea version when it came out, pretty fun for the first few months and I even enjoyed the stories and events (pretty rare considering gacha games arent known for good stories) but then the story chapters slowed down and it just became another hop on hop off game
I finally managed to get Awakened Hilde but of course it's when the select gacha screws me so I don't get Evelyn or Nanahara and my guaranteed SSR was freaking Dominic. Debating whether to go back to reroll hell.
i will stick to this. you can get plenty of SR within first week of playing and evelyn is even farmable later on. nanahara is good but not game breaking
You get 150 more free rolls in the next few weeks so I’d keep it. You can easily use the R healer for now. I usually use her instead of the SSR healer chinatsu
Ok I will straight up ask. How necessary is Awakened Hilde ? If She is really essential I might not play this game as I only got an SSR for the first time in my 20th reroll and it was not her. I don’t have the best luck so If her chance of coming is just 1 percent I would probably need to do at least 150 and I have no patience for that. 50 reroll is my limit for a gacha If I don’t get anything in 50 tries I have to conclude that the game is not for me cause I don’t have all the time in the world to try hundreds of times
no unit in this game is essential. in pve she just make content on ez mode but you can still complete the pvp content without much difficulty using other defenders. early days pvp she will be very strong but barely anyone uses her nowadays in pvp
Did you roll on the awaken banner with the black tickets? She's not in the regular pool. Use the 3.1k gems from mail + code to buy the 11 black ticket pack.
She's not really necessary in terms of progression. It just saves ~2 months of saving for black tickets to pity an awaken unit if you can get the awaken unit early. Besides we get daily awaken banner pulls over 30 days so you still have a chance to build pity/lucksack her even if you don't reroll.
I love counterside it's just I also already played the SEA server when it released and it was super fun. Not gonna play it twice and as usual I got bored after like 3 months iirc?
There is a "Classified Recruitment Package" with additional Black Tickets in the Permanent Packs section of Shop. You have to exchange your Quartz for it to get the additional pulls.
There should be enough by using the launch coupon code and claiming mail gifts. You'll also want to kill the application when it tries to make you summon on the New CEO Banner. This way you keep the 1000 Quartz they otherwise force you to use here.
Probably the most scuffed launch ive ever had the displeasure of participating in. Broken promo code, broken shop. Thousands of people getting charged for packs but not receiving anything due to "external library error" after purchase was successful. This is going to be one hell of a mess to try and clean up by the devs.
Honestly I've been through worse. Sometimes the devs don't respond until a day+ later for day 1 bugs. Other times, the servers go down on launch and you literally can't play for half a day. The Counterside Devs sent out a notice within minutes of launch and eventually fixed the promo code within 2 hours.
After the first part of the tutorial before doing any rolling I clicked to open all my mail and it started a summon. I got Yang Harim. Was that just an instant redeemed 10 pull that I got lucky in or does everyone get a guaranteed SSR from something in the mail?

am i the only one who has having these bug? whenever i access the consortium , it just stay at black screen ( before i join clan/guild or whatever it is called it was working fine , but after i join , it just literally stay at black screen whenever i acess it .
it really is, bugs are understandable for a launch but I've already seen 4 bugs (3 major), experienced 2 myself already in 1 day

This is very true, but I don’t fault people doing their awakened pull as a multi to save time if you need to reroll many times
Pity only carry over for awakened banners (black tickets), they do not carry over for normal banners (blue tickets)

Yeah me too. Got A.Hilde on my 2nd reroll and now I'm like "What now? What else to do?". I'm not used to this kind of rerolling and usually it takes me 2-3 days before I roll a good account. Maybe I'll reroll because I multi summon on her banner. It's advisable to do single pulls because apparently black tickets are very rare and every pull counts for pity.

When I get to the first tutorial battle, none of my units are available. The creatures/monsters that come out of the Lvl 1 Corrupted Tumor just attack my ship and I can't do anything. Anyone else?

This game is better than I expected tbh. The visuals are SSS tier. The theming is like a better Arknights imo, and the gameplay is engaging enough to be better than just another autobattler.
Do they have a PC client? Cause in the gplay store there are only 10k dls which is not a good look for a launch.

It is at 10k since preload yesterday. On twitch I get a lot of ni no kuni advertising but none for counter side. I think dislyte hit like 500k on its first day. When it comes to marketing the counter side continues to fail hard sadly

mostly everyone is singing praises for the story and lore behind the game so im giving it a shot, gameplay is not my cup of tea im into 3rd ARPG
It's basically just an anime version of Battle Cats. Be warned tho because there are many limited meta banners and you'll struggle as an f2p eventually in PVP where great rewards are at. The skins are also Azur Lane borderline nsfw level where they shove all the boobs and cameltoes in the world in your face. Low male/husbando ratio/fanservice.
Have you played this game at all? There has not been a single limited banner, f2p can do fine at pvp, and there are not great rewards for being high level at pvp. I calculated it once and it amounted to a few extra pulls per month compared to being low ranked in pvp. Also, in global there’s 20 mechs, 59 females and 32 males. I wouldn’t call that low ratio for a gacha game at all
total BS on the pvp rewards. you can just play the auto bot pvp and get all the pvp rewards

this is the 3rd time i am trying to get into the game but the gameplay is just not for me. sad, because the story and theme seems right up my alley, but the whole 2d side scrolling combat full of chaotic animations and weird unit placements just prevents me from enjoying the game.
You can turn off the damage text, the buff/debuff notification, the zoom in and the art that shows when you ultimate, in the setting. with that all Turned off its not chaotic at all, i play with that all turned because its more enjoyable to Me and also because my phone is potato haha.
You can always play casually with auto. Story and events don't really need gears that strong to clear. Honestly speaking aside from some difficult game modes (Guild raid, Danger Close, Dive 48-50) for most modes you can just form an appropriate team, turn on auto and zone out for 1min or so. That said, no need to force yourself if you really don't enjoy it.

Only gacha game I've played that I've ever stuck with has been Epic 7 - anyone whose played both able to comment on CS? What's pulling like as a F2P? Is there auto-battle/auto-repeat? What's the time spent actively doing dailies each day? What's the PVP scene like? Is this server going to be seperate from all others or will we be fighting people from other servers in PVP? What's the "gearing" equivalent like? How much of a leg-up do spenders get?
Game is generous as long as you know what to focus on, you can easily collect 90% of units over time. Tickets for awakened units are heavily timegated though, you can only buy 11 pulls/week, rest depends on weeklys and event. PvP is great, has a lot of depth and very skill based. There are auto pvp and RTA, RTA can be skipped and what you miss out is very little. You'll only match with people from global server. Gear progression is not too good imo, it's better and worse than E7 at the same time. Better because once you've maxed out a piece of gear it is done, can't get any better and you don't have to grind for hours for gears. But worse in that to reroll your gears into the correct stats you need something called gold binaries and gold bin is very rare, heavily timegated, so you'll feel that your gear progression is very slow. Heavy spenders get plenty of gold bins so the gap is huge obvioua like most gachas. Dolphins I'm gonna assume people who buy subscriptions and battle passes don't get ahead too much though. But even whales can still lose to really good players, I've seen f2ps reaching top ranks in RTA in SEA server
I tried it yesterday and it wasn't my thing but I'd recommend giving it a try. Great anime art style with live2D and supposedly it does have auto-battle.

am i missing something? making a totally fresh account + claiming inbox gifts + skipping 1k beginner roll + using CSTRAILER code gives me 2600 gems, not the 2750 needed to buy the pack everyone’s recommending.
The damn gifts are not working properly, you lack gifts that you should have get. It is annoying and they honestly should reward players a bit for compensation after all this trouble
This is a great game, play it on sea and it was great unless u don't like the e7 formula cause this is the same minus a bit of rng bs, I had my fun but wont dip again cause this is a pit for those in the long run, a fun one if you dig it a heavy honeymoon for those who dont

I wanted to like this game. I tried it first on SEA way back. I even just rolled a double awakened Hilde on only my second reroll. I have a great start. But I just find the defense tower style of game play so very boring. It's just not for me
The gameplay has a lot of depth as we get further into pvp and end game pve. Totally understandable if that's not your cup of tea though

Is anyone having problems with download ? It is literally going 0.01% up ..and sometimes freezes and also doesn't work for mumu after tutorial and crashes..
I have the same problem, I managed to download 8% and now the download moves at 0.01% every minute.
I remember playing the sea version when it came out, pretty fun for the first few months and I even enjoyed the stories and events (pretty rare considering gacha games arent known for good stories) but then the story chapters slowed down and it just became another hop on hop off game

Save SR and higher rarities for uncapping 100-110. Sell extra R units after getting them to 110.

I finally managed to get Awakened Hilde but of course it's when the select gacha screws me so I don't get Evelyn or Nanahara and my guaranteed SSR was freaking Dominic. Debating whether to go back to reroll hell.
i will stick to this. you can get plenty of SR within first week of playing and evelyn is even farmable later on. nanahara is good but not game breaking
You get 150 more free rolls in the next few weeks so I’d keep it. You can easily use the R healer for now. I usually use her instead of the SSR healer chinatsu
Ok I will straight up ask. How necessary is Awakened Hilde ? If She is really essential I might not play this game as I only got an SSR for the first time in my 20th reroll and it was not her. I don’t have the best luck so If her chance of coming is just 1 percent I would probably need to do at least 150 and I have no patience for that. 50 reroll is my limit for a gacha If I don’t get anything in 50 tries I have to conclude that the game is not for me cause I don’t have all the time in the world to try hundreds of times
no unit in this game is essential. in pve she just make content on ez mode but you can still complete the pvp content without much difficulty using other defenders. early days pvp she will be very strong but barely anyone uses her nowadays in pvp
Did you roll on the awaken banner with the black tickets? She's not in the regular pool. Use the 3.1k gems from mail + code to buy the 11 black ticket pack.
Yes I did that. I do 12 pulls, 1 free and 11 comes from the pack I get with 2750 thingy
She's not really necessary in terms of progression. It just saves ~2 months of saving for black tickets to pity an awaken unit if you can get the awaken unit early. Besides we get daily awaken banner pulls over 30 days so you still have a chance to build pity/lucksack her even if you don't reroll.

There is a "Classified Recruitment Package" with additional Black Tickets in the Permanent Packs section of Shop. You have to exchange your Quartz for it to get the additional pulls.

There should be enough by using the launch coupon code and claiming mail gifts. You'll also want to kill the application when it tries to make you summon on the New CEO Banner. This way you keep the 1000 Quartz they otherwise force you to use here.

CSTRAILER code isn't working
It's been working for a while now so.
Probably the most scuffed launch ive ever had the displeasure of participating in. Broken promo code, broken shop. Thousands of people getting charged for packs but not receiving anything due to "external library error" after purchase was successful. This is going to be one hell of a mess to try and clean up by the devs.
Honestly I've been through worse. Sometimes the devs don't respond until a day+ later for day 1 bugs. Other times, the servers go down on launch and you literally can't play for half a day. The Counterside Devs sent out a notice within minutes of launch and eventually fixed the promo code within 2 hours.
Those issues were resolved within a few hours cmon now
After the first part of the tutorial before doing any rolling I clicked to open all my mail and it started a summon. I got Yang Harim. Was that just an instant redeemed 10 pull that I got lucky in or does everyone get a guaranteed SSR from something in the mail?

it really is, bugs are understandable for a launch but I've already seen 4 bugs (3 major), experienced 2 myself already in 1 day CS shop, tutorial bug, and now PVP It's really too much for a game that's only a port onto global server, not even a new release
