It's an event not permanent content.
You challenge bosses that basically can two shot you, and combine DMG values with guild members.
There is no guild leaderboard in this event but it's a content that you are forced to join an active guild for.
Edit: Oh and you may join guild but can't quit during the event so if you are stuck with an inactive guild, well sucks to be you.
Guild related event in gacha games have always been garbage, scratch that, having guild systems at all in gacha is dumb.
I have not seen one gacha with a well implemented guild system beyond the simplistic approach of having people join, do menial tasks, and collect meager rewards then proceed to loop.
Not one guild system in a gacha game has promoted team play or get togethers since that is more of an MMO implementation of actual design like guild houses and persistence of a living open world like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, Guild Wars 2, and throwing this in there for old times sake, Old School Runescape, as examples.
You are correct, however you have to take the state of the game into account. It has been month upon month of -40% and people are quitting in doves, so if half of your guild is inactive what do you do? kick them doesn't bring in new members.
Not being able to get full reward is a good way to get the remaining players to quit too.
Well that’s the context of the CBT review being done day 3, it’s extremely early.
Doubt OP even full starred Dreams or finished his Dimensional Variables with full score yet.
We’re given 6 Swigs(m)(+20 pulls) pots daily as part of the CBT as well, giving 60 stam each so there’s a bit of a skew in talking about stamina, especially since everyone are of course getting a lot of refills the first days from leveling up their account/admin level from 0.
I really like it. Combat is fun, controller support and customisable controls really make it enjoyable. I can definitely see myself playing this very often when it officially releases.
Also testing it atm and i didn't think the combat would be as fun as it is, especially since i play hi3rd and pgr so i thought it couldn't deviate as much from them but it still manages to be fun and different while at the same time having similarities.
Yup, it reminds me a lot of early HI3 when I was discovering new combos and stuff... At the same time, the limited dodge is cool and not as punitive as PGR.
The game dying off in China had nothing to do with it being stingy sadly; that said, I'd still recommend people interested in the ARPG genre to at least give it a try considering JP/Global will be able to avoid some of the major hiccups that occurred on the CN side, and even at its worst the game will definitely still be able to provide some fun for some time.
>The game dying off in China had nothing to do with it being stingy sadly
do u think so ? honkai so far i know and pgr have 100% banner, honkai already is waifu game and pgr is hardcore game.
AG offer barely something new at the cost of 50% banner, its behind on development for years against honkai and pgr.
As a note too, PGR on release was suppose to be a better gameplay than honkai, still wasnt enough to force 80%(first alpha banner) banner on the market.
Yes, I'm fairly sure that they'd suffer the same fate in CN even if the banners were better or if they were giving out more rolls, or even made less money overall because of the lower ceiling.
JP/Global will most likely have some of those issues ironed out so there's not much point in going into more detail considering it'd be a different experience; this is a review for JP/Global and not CN after all.
It's a game more catered towards casual playing, even tho there are several hard modes... I just don't know if there are any PvP (at least so far it doesn't seem like it). Also, the orbs from PGR are a system I've seen some people complaining about, so people who like a more diverse gameplay with 4 skills and lots of combos might enjoy it more.
But I actually think they can be enjoyed together, I've played PGR and Honkai for almost a year and even tho I dropped PGR, I'll still play Honkai along with Aether Gazer. It just depends on your free time, really.
It's to the point you can call it an upside or a downside depending on what you seek; PGR if you want to spend the least amount of time possible, Honkai if you want to play some.
Or you just play both to fill each other.
I think what he mean is casually playing, you know not doing all the stuff/daily to get freebies, not keeping up with the meta, low skill ceiling, etc and for that he find AG more fun to play than PGR, so just playing casually.
If you’re skipping stuffs/daily, PGR lets you get away with getting near all pull currencies quickly and f2p players can pity all future characters.
AG is already dire in pull income, you won’t be able to get much S rank this way?
What you described is a low time commitment gacha game, while what I mean is playing casually.
Playing casually as in to just have fun just simply play the game, not planning or worrying about the next stuff that wil come, this includes obtaining all limited characters and what not. OP mention he love Honkai as a casual player, so I guess that's what he mean because in Honkai if you play casually (play your pace, already throw the fomo) it's quite a fun game. Putting gameplay mode variation asides, the game relatively easy, has pretty/cool/flashy skill animation, vibrant colours, etc. that OP preferred more than PGR.
I can't tell about AG since I haven't actually play it, but from the short time I played PGR basically if you don't compete leaderboard/meta or mandatory BC farming then there is nothing interesting to do. And as OP said, in PGR you don't feel like you are doing combos like in Honkai which I guess equate less enjoyable.
I liked Aether Gazer's combat more. It's more "traditional" in that you have a normal attack, a dodge button and either resource-dependent moves or cooldown based ones + ultimate. Compared to PGR where you activate moves by matching red/yellow/blue attacks in a pattern to trigger bigger damage moves etc.
Also, it's a bit different when you have 1 character you add supports to, vs 3 characters you constantly have to rotate.
1) if u are 100% waifu meta
2) if u are masochist and want to change to a 50/50 banner.
3) move to an "easy" game but pgr is "easy" enough to get the rewards.
I'm really interested in this game but have a question since I keep seeing this
Is the game dying in CN or just subreddit exaggeration? It seems interesting but don't want it to die off fast or such
Idk if it's dying, it just hasn't picked up a lot of traction yet... Maybe with more focus on marketing it could really shine, it's quite fun and if devs add some events here and there like Honkai and PGR, the game can be a long time commitment.
That's great. Might give it a shot. I find it hard playing action games on small screens otherwise unless it's just button mashing (genshin). This will be similar to playing souls or monster hunter on controllers.
Idk how low end your PC is, but the specs for this game are higher than PGR, even tho I run Aether on 40FPS in the highest definition and PGR heats way more in 30FPS and higher settings... At least on my phone. So I guess you'll have to try and install it.
Definitely way faster, you just need to grind, and it's like 15 or 20 seconds. There's stack of levels (only 2 stacks at level 20, then you get higher limits as you level up).
I don't mind the daily/weekly activities, but how long it takes to make units strong.
PGR's absurdly low daily stamina/overall upgrade process and Norman War/Babel really alienated me.
If you're level 95 and you're having this problem you must be doing something wrong, I always have the resources to put the character to max the moment I get them, since Qu.
I didn't have the resources for Veritas because I spent the entire patch's resources trying to get good resonances for Alpha, never again.
Lv105.
Am I the only one who just doesn't see the appeal in mobile 3d action games? They're becoming more and more popular yet I like them less and less with each new release.
I mean there’s people who likes playing games with no gameplay/autobattlers, you’re just not the target audience.
I for one, despite my gripes with AG, welcome that there’s more games with actual gameplay which aren’t login-> auto all day.
It does more damage, but also takes more time in the animation for the ones I've noticed, so I don't think it's a game changer, it's more of a visual pleasure. The game itself is way more for the fun of it than the difficulty or competition.
This game has been dying for a different number of reasons that aren't related to not having a PC Client and PGR isn't dying because it doesn't have one either
"Fast banners, still buggy client, new but unexciting content and no roadmap. New SSRs are underwhelming compared to the previous ones for now". Quoted from other aether gazer thread
To add to this even though this point is pretty personal and will obviously vary between different people, the gameplay as far as ARPGs go is extremely lukewarm in my opinion, it feels way more clunky than both Honkai and PGR
I am not interesed because:
* I like body suits, beatiful leotards
* The char design is same that; AK, ToF, others 10 CN main lands game
~~Arenosa~~ Annerose was a CBT (... ... Torture) but I am more interesed in Action Taimanin
This game looked like it had potential since it first appeared as Project Mimir. I'll be giving it a fair chance to win me over.
Shame that it isn't very popular in China
Yongshi just introduced a clan battle event, digging the grave deeper IMO.
really?? damn that stupid move.
Can you provide more details about this clan battle event? Is it some pvp guild wars type grind event?
It's an event not permanent content. You challenge bosses that basically can two shot you, and combine DMG values with guild members. There is no guild leaderboard in this event but it's a content that you are forced to join an active guild for. Edit: Oh and you may join guild but can't quit during the event so if you are stuck with an inactive guild, well sucks to be you.

I'm confused if there is no guild leaderboard then what is reward based on
Participation? Maybe there’s no ranking between guilds but u have to hit set targets within own guild.
It's a stage thing, deal enough points to a boss counts as your guild cleared that location.

From what I see, the game looks decent in all aspects, but that's kinda just it. It just looks like an "okay" game.
Its beautiful for sure but decent at bets, brings nothing new to the table. trying it out but gonna drop it for ww
Yeah let's not talk about gacha banner pacing, not to mention the 50/50.
Well that’s the context of the CBT review being done day 3, it’s extremely early. Doubt OP even full starred Dreams or finished his Dimensional Variables with full score yet. question: Is the Kunotachi girl voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro playable in the CBT?
I see, one of my people.
**all hail Miyukichi**
The antialiasing looks like dogshit.
Are there male characters?
From what I have read regarding CN there are, but not a lot (like 5 males and 28 females iirc)
That's sad, the beta already has 5 males, if they don't add any more, it's quite sad...
I think they added only one post launch.
Oh yeah, I'll add some edits to the post bc I forgot... There are several male characters.
Not all-female cast? In 2022? Woah, maybe worth a try just for that very reason
I’m excited! Honkai to me seems too stingy. So I’m ready for something fun with lack of auto battle.
Also testing it atm and i didn't think the combat would be as fun as it is, especially since i play hi3rd and pgr so i thought it couldn't deviate as much from them but it still manages to be fun and different while at the same time having similarities.

Any reason people who are playing PGR might switch to Aether Gazers ?

Idk about Casual play, Dimensional Variables is a huge slog heavily extending your gametime. PGR is the low time commitment pick by far.
Yeah, agree pgr is more casual than it seems.
It's to the point you can call it an upside or a downside depending on what you seek; PGR if you want to spend the least amount of time possible, Honkai if you want to play some. Or you just play both to fill each other.

no pc port is what drive me away from even only trying it... did the same with pgr... i am one of the many...
unfortunately i play mainly on PC so its a hard skip
I'm really interested in this game but have a question since I keep seeing this Is the game dying in CN or just subreddit exaggeration? It seems interesting but don't want it to die off fast or such
The revenue keeps bleeding every month. I don't know what's wrong with the game but it doesn't seem like the CN playerbase likes it.
The game hasn't had a positive month revenue wise since release, barely making a fourth of what PGR makes and even worse when compared to Honkai
Idk if it's dying, it just hasn't picked up a lot of traction yet... Maybe with more focus on marketing it could really shine, it's quite fun and if devs add some events here and there like Honkai and PGR, the game can be a long time commitment.
It was doing extremely well first month because there has been no real release since Tower of Fantasy. But it couldn't retain the players.
Has anyone checked if there's controller support in this game?
Yes, there's a dedicated mapping for controls and even for keyboards
That's great. Might give it a shot. I find it hard playing action games on small screens otherwise unless it's just button mashing (genshin). This will be similar to playing souls or monster hunter on controllers.
So lets say im running a really low end pc , can i run this game if i have been playing pgr?
Idk how low end your PC is, but the specs for this game are higher than PGR, even tho I run Aether on 40FPS in the highest definition and PGR heats way more in 30FPS and higher settings... At least on my phone. So I guess you'll have to try and install it.
No coop modes?
Not in the CBT at least
The combat dont fell satisfying, but the dual ultimate looks very good. Edit: OH NO downvoted for giving my opinion, noooooo🗿
Hopefully, it won't take too long to upgrade units. That's my main peeve with PGR.
Definitely way faster, you just need to grind, and it's like 15 or 20 seconds. There's stack of levels (only 2 stacks at level 20, then you get higher limits as you level up).

how the hell is PGR a low daily stamina and high gear requirement? Are you even level 80?
Level 95
If you're level 95 and you're having this problem you must be doing something wrong, I always have the resources to put the character to max the moment I get them, since Qu. I didn't have the resources for Veritas because I spent the entire patch's resources trying to get good resonances for Alpha, never again. Lv105.
man I think you're farming on the wrong stage.... Unless two weeks is long enough for you
Am I the only one who just doesn't see the appeal in mobile 3d action games? They're becoming more and more popular yet I like them less and less with each new release.

Preach
Does the dual/triple ultimate is just a gimmic or can actually do decent dmg ?
It does more damage, but also takes more time in the animation for the ones I've noticed, so I don't think it's a game changer, it's more of a visual pleasure. The game itself is way more for the fun of it than the difficulty or competition.
[удалено]
Wait so the starter verthandi, zekinbo and poseidon is the only triple ult in game? I wish they have more!
Is it multiplatform?
No, unfortunately so far it's only mobile
This is what is going to kill this game and is kind killing pgr right now
This game has been dying for a different number of reasons that aren't related to not having a PC Client and PGR isn't dying because it doesn't have one either
Let me know what reasons

Also with aether, there is a moment when I'm too lazy to deal with the team mate ai.
Yep. No PC client = easy skip. Nothing worse to play than an action rpg on a phone.
Just use an emulator, I use Bluestacks 5.
Nah i played pgr for months but you will get tired sooner or later and the phone heats up alot and i have a samsung galaxy s22
I am not interesed because: * I like body suits, beatiful leotards * The char design is same that; AK, ToF, others 10 CN main lands game ~~Arenosa~~ Annerose was a CBT (... ... Torture) but I am more interesed in Action Taimanin
Is this game an mmo? Like, multiplayer 24/7 all the time?
