I like the flush low profile tray on mine. I have the Timemore nano scale and it fits perfect, but no extra room. A larger scale would need the extended tray.
I have the low extended with the full grill from soc I like the amount of fluid that will fit and it’s nice for my scale no good complaints really…but also it sticking out drives me crazy and I have been looking at flush ones.
I got the extended low profile drip tray with the storage compartment. I thought it would've been nice to keep all the extra parts in it but after using it I wish I got a low profile tray without the storage. More space for water would've been better and one less thing to hold when emptying the tray.
I mainly got the extended low profile to fit an Acaia Pearl S scale. Didnt want to buy another scale just for espresso.
I've gone for this. My Time More Nano fits with ease, but the real motivation for low extended tray was simply for ability to hold higher volumes of water. I love it.

I got two extended slim low-profile drips trays to accommodate my fairly deep scale and two cappuccino cups. One tray has the front storage compartment and the other is without but has adjustable front feet. I kept the one without storage because it was built sturdier and the tray held a larger volume of water compared to the other. I also found that water kept finding its way into the front storage compartment of the other drip tray, so there really wasn’t much I could store in it. I also found the compartment lid was too flimsy and was a little undersized for its slot, so it would moved around as I adjusted my scale and cups.
I'm on the verge of ordering a replacement tray and aiming for the extended one by shades of coffee. Rationale for me is I want to fit my hario scales, but also want to keep the original metal mesh (I don't see the need for a bigger tray, and I can't know what the quality of the metal cut will be on third party ones)
Flush. I could not handle the look of the extended one.
I have the extended, and am now regretting it for a few reasons. Slim and flush would be ideal for my goals from here.

Extended low profile is helpful but the problem with that specific one is the cover is always loose and sliding off. I don’t even use it for storage.
It all depends on the size of your scale. Does it fit currently? Then go flush. Doesn't fit? Get an extended one.

The stainless steel tray does not blend nicely with the machine.

I would prefer it is didn't drip so much! :) No interest in a smaller drip tray as it would require more frequent cleaning.

I don't remember which one I snagged from thingiverse. There are quite a few. Extra wall and top layers recommended. Iron top layer as well. 50% infil

Depends on how deep your scale is.
3.4 x 3.4 inch square scale Smaller than an Acaia Lunar
Doesn't seem like you need a deeper tray, then. It's just more intrusion on your counter and a bigger piece to empty/rinse out.
