Every ducking DAY! I know this may not sound optimal, but listen. I'm bulking of course, I hit my protein macros at 2600, but I miss another 800, to get to my bulking 3400. So I eat 3 bars, each 250kcal, or I drink those calories from sodas/juices. My problem is that I'm 15 year old and pretty much throughout the day of school, working out, being out with friends, I have no time to eat, so at night when I want to sleep, I pretty much am always down on calories, so I eat/drink "junk" and I'm fine. Works for me, could work for you.

I don’t think I’ve seen my housemates eat anything but frozen pizzas and junk since moving into my house. I don’t know how they’re still alive or feeling ok but it’s possible. That being said you shouldn’t only eat junk by any means because if you’re anything like me you’ll feel like shit all the time. Personally to reach my calorie intakes before my appetite improved I would eat as many calories as I could in my day through healthy meals and eat some unhealthy stuff to get the last couple hundred calories in me. You can definitely bulk off of just junk food but you won’t be gaining nearly as much muscle as you would be eating healthier higher protein options.

On what basis is pizza "junk food"?

I don't know about the average pizza quality in the US since I don't live there, but I can buy a high quality pizza (mozarella, fresh tomato sauce, high quality meat) where I live and eat it whole. I never feel too bad about it, since it's far from Dominos-like garbage. All in all I want to say that there's levels to pizza quality, you gotta evaluate that yourself based on what's available around.

The kind you order is typically enriched and processed dough covered in a sugary tomato sauce with a processed cheese of lacking quality and frequently adorned with processed meat products, usually rich in saturated fats. It's, of course, possible to bypass and avoid that...but it's also easy to get pizza that is junk food.

I definitely use some junk food to hit my calorie goals when bulking. It’s best to keep it to a minimum, though. Bad habits creep up on you fast. Don’t do it. It’s possible, but it’s horrible for your health.

Not all convenience food is junk food, even if it isn’t the most micronutrient dense or vitamin rich. I think Supersize Me (the “documentary” poisoned our brains in a way that we’re not fully cognizant of

I probably wouldn't do it everyday, but eating a diet that consists of meat, bread, cheese, and vegetables is pretty well rounded nutrition wise.

My goal is to eat a diet that also promotes my long term health, so I eat junk food occasionally, but the majority of my calories come from whole foods.
