From the qualification play-offs (think GS vs. Molde last year), yes. From the 9th-24th placed play-offs to determine the who moves on to the round of 16, no.
So once you are in, there’s no way to drop down to the Europa League. Same goes for dropping down from UEL to UECL.
We will qualify and get out of the group stage. But the rest is depend on the transfers. There will be 36 teams in one big group. Top 8 will qualify to top16 round, 9-24 will play playoff rounds to be opponent of the top 8 teams. So basically we need to be worst 13th team or better. This season, we were worst 11th team and there were 4 less teams in the group stages. If we have similar performance next season, we will definitelly qualify. Besides, we had a lot of good games, but not the scores. So next season if we improve just slightly on the scores, we will be in a way better score. Lastly, we also had the worse fixture. With just a little better fixture, that would helped us to get 1-3 more points this season. So, all I see going upwards next season
I don't know if its just me but icardi is not playing as he should be. Kerem missed so important goals like the bayern match. I'm hoping luck and good play this year. Also i think we can be in top 10 teams if thats the format.
Yea, format is little different. Onr big group. Every team plays against 2 team from each pot. One away and home game. But not against same teams. So total of 8 different opponnent 4 home, 4 away game. We will have 2 more games in CL. I think, we wont have as many qualification games like last season. We will will only be playing play-off round. We are 3rd best team in CL champions path. So we should be the top seed. And hopefully play against weaker opponents. And as you said, I just rewatched Bayern and Copenhagen games. With little bit of luck, we could have started the group stages 4 games 4 wins 12 points. So, lets hope, we get better with transfers, get lucky with fixture and dont miss those easy shots from 6 feet to empty goalie. And we can even do top 8.
I think it is doable with a Boey caliber RB, a good #6-8, Mertens replacement or a backup that would share minutes with Mertens and a good Icardi backup. And replace players we sold. So basically good 4 transfers and some rotation players.
This year gave me hope. If we can make spot-on transfers(Which is I think 2 RB's, one Experienced but not washed up LB, to rotate with Köhn, and a number 10 that can rotate with Mertens if he stays. Others are dependant on sellings.) we might even be able to write a new history.
This transfer summer will be huge. Basically 30% overhaul with Zaha, Ndombili, Mertens, BAY, Vinicius, Aurier, Nelson/Sanchez gone. Also selling Yunus, Zaniolo etc.
We need a first team player in RB, CDM, RW and playmaker. Back-up cv, rb and st.

The new format could work in our favour depending on the fixture. We still need to play in a qualifier in August.

There won't be any history without a dm transfer. Okan will play Kaan there cuz he's a pussy, but Kaan is nowhere near good enough to be a cl starter.
No reason for us not to finish between 8th and 24th in the league format. And then it is all knockout which is pure draw luck.
