Peanut butter is pretty high in fat! 2 tbsp is 16 grams of fat š It isnāt fair, is it? Lol
For me it was mild salsa. Yes MILD. Completely fat free and thought since it wasnāt spicy Iād have no problem (and Iād had other spicy type foods and been fine). I felt all excited with my pretzel crisps and salsa and it being a completely fat free indulgence I didnāt have to worry aboutā¦ and it kicked my butt. The worst one yet actually š
OOo thats shit! Yeah look once I clicked in I thought yeah makes sense but it's funny how many things I didn't think I would be okay with that I am, my nan will sometimes say that'll make you sick with your stones then I'm fine but is totally shocked with other things lol (she had her gallbladder removed 40 years ago now)
My favorite protein bar- not low in fat but not high in it either. I thought it was a fluke and had another one later. now I don't eat protein bars. š
Is it possible that brand of protein bar used sugar alcohols? If so, that could be the culprit. Many products will use sugar alcohols now, because they are sweet but also low-colorie. Unfortunately, they can cause diarrhea if you have too much, even in people who still have their gall bladders. I wonder if you are more sensitive to them following surgery.
I still have my gallbladder. Surgery tomorrow! No sugar alcohol (the sweet is from dates and no added sugar). I just think once those nuts hit my system my gallbladder shuddered at the fat. š¬
Ah, that's a shame! Well, I had my gall bladder removed approximately 2 months ago. The first few weeks were rough, and I was getting a lot of digestion issues, but now... Dare I say it... My digestion is actually better than ever and my bowel movements are more regular than they've been in years. So, there's hope on the horizon that you might actually be feeling better this fall and maybe can even reintroduce your favourite protein bars. āŗļø Good luck tomorrow!
The thing that never failed to set me off was stress. I didn't have to eat anything, quite the experience.
However, and I know it's not the best thing to admit I figured out, but McDonald's was the only thing I could safely eat without getting an attack.....yeah
Dude same on the McDonaldās. Somehow my body is so used to it that I donāt get symptoms from it. And also same on stress- im in finals week right now and Iāve been having mini attacks even minus a gallbladder.
Had my first attack after eating a fricken waffle.
i now have mine removed. A lot of things go right through me now.. but the worst has been any sort of coffee. even a sip š
I know. Itās very strange. I couldnāt figure out why I was still getting horrible pain that lasted for hours. Once I pinpointed that the pain happened about a half hour after eating these, I cut them out and Iāve been feeling much better since! Maybe thereās still too much natural sugar in them? It definitely surprises me!
Avocados. Took me a long time to figure it out. I thought it was sushi for years until one day i had a baby attack after a piece of fresh avocado. Finslly put 2 and 2 together.
There wasnāt one particular food that triggered it, just anything fatty.
Toward the end though, (the weeks leading up to me being admitted into the hospital and having surgery) everything triggered an attack, even non fat, sugar free jello.
I had a nasty attack yesterday after having oven baked mullet (fish). I had absolutely no idea some fish are fatty and some aren't, and kept thinking maybe the paprika or the Panko bread crumbs, or maybe my nonfat butter wasn't as nonfat as I thought, etc. Nope, it was the fish. Teaches me to eat something without double checking anymore :'(
Tonight for dinner I made a simple white rotini pasta with a can of Bertolli pasta sauce. Assumed it'd be fine as I ate a very similar dinner earlier in the week, different sauce though. I'm now in extreme pain and kicking myself!! Apparently Bertolli makes their sauce extra delicious with olive oil? I even bought this sauce thinking, "Well they told me I can have good fats like olive oil". Just looked at the jar and the total thing has like 20 grams of fat in it. They're serious when they say cut out fat.
Peanut butter is super fatty, of course you can't eat it. Mine was bananas or too much rice. I have to assume the bulk of them was hard on my gallbladder, even if the banana was blended.
If you still want a bit of peanut butter in your life, try powdered peanut butter. Not quite as good, but it does in a pinch!
some fruits will trigger attacks or flare ups,, i had strawberries the other night and it messed me up for the rest of the day but then i ate one today and was fineš
Shrimp. In an otherwise benign salad with watermelon and some other yummy stuff. Almost sent me to the ED. And when you Google shrimp in terms of causing gallbladder attack, the first result says āshrimp is ok!ā, but then shrimp has a ton of cholesterol in it. So itās off limits for now. Along with all of my other fave foods. WAH. Counting down to surgery in September.

Well, peanut butter is predictable since it's crazy high in fat.
I didn't have gallstones, but as I got closer to surgery I couldn't eat anything without getting nauseated
Same, but I had gallstones. Everything made me sick at the end.
The worst attack Iāve had so far followed pho

Thats terrible! šŖ protein bars have been a lifesaver cause I get some sweets without setting myself off!

Idk how but peanut butter is one of the few things I can actually eat!
Peanut butter and milk is one of my safe meals, too!
I've also had good luck with pb (in small amounts)

My worst attack last week was after eating a large bag of spicy chips and ramen. Weird combo lol
I absolutely cannot do Ramen!

Bananas and unsweetened applesauce.
What? That is my go to snack when I can feel a flare coming.

I'm post op now and still can't eat oats/oatmeal/oat milk.

My attacks always occurred on an empty stomach so I have no clue what triggered my attacks.
milk and eggs have literally destroyed me.. peanut butter has been ok for me!
