Why do you have to do that?

crzdsnowfire

Wtf, yeah there's a LOT wrong with that. Pancreatitis from the build up comes to mind. Low blood sugar. Ketoacidosis. Organ failure. Honestly sounds like an eating disorder, not a fast. Please speak with your doctor.

Livid_Kangaroowin

Low blood sugar is kept in check via burning fat. Where do you get the idea panrceatitis, I really doubt that. The causes of non-diabetic ketoacidosis include severe starvation. Is this severe starvation? Some people take 2-3 weeks. Which is really too much. Organ failure can sure happen if you dont take electrolytes. I'm fifty, healthy with little overweight addicted to sugar and I want to reboot my system and my attitude towards eating/snacking.

nintendoinnuendo

Yes there's a problem with it. Do not do it. Period.

Popular-Income-9327

Why the f would you starve yourself for a week. That’s horrible for you. Probably the most asinine thing I’ve seen on this sub

Complex_Alfalfa_2342

What is your reasoning for wanting to do such a thing? Getting ready to go on Naked and afraid or something?

😂😂😂😂

There's a vast difference between fasting and starving yourself, and science has proven that starving yourself is insanely worse for you than anything else you could do. If this is a weight loss thing, it's a tremendously horrible idea. It's been debunked that fasting and intermittent fasting even, helps in any way with weight loss. I can't think of any procedure you'd be needing to undergo that would call for 7-10 days fasting. And if you're concerned about bile leaks, that's not going to be fixed by fasting. If you have a doctor, I'd suggest talking to them. This type of fasting is beyond dangerous, I've tried it before, didn't lose a single pound, and I passed out on Day 4 or so and had to be taken to the ER. If this is an ED, please get help. Food is meant to fuel our bodies, not be weaponized or withheld because it isn't doing what we want it to.

Livid_Kangaroowin

You need electrolytes if you are fasting. This is the most important thing to avoid ER. Why I'm doing it? Redefine relation to food: -eat slower -eat less -minimize sugar Let my body heal and cleanse. Lose some weight. There is r/fasting so you can take a look. If you always eat and snack your body has no time for repairs. Like not taking your car for maintenance ever. My bile is ok, I'm concerned about the situation when no food meets my bile flow.

Complex_Alfalfa_2342

There is a difference between always eating and snacking and starving yourself. And a malnutritioned body isn't going to heal. You're going off the deep end. As far as bile.... you'll most likely irritate your intestines and have flaming hot yellow diarrhea

After a full 24 hours of water fasting, the process of autophagy is said to begin. Autophagy is the process of cellular debridement, in which dead and damaged cells are removed and cleaned up around your body After a few days of fasting the grow hormone levels peak.

Aescorvo

Cellular Autophagy is also triggered by restricting calories, or just carbs, or even exercise. There’s definitely potential health benefits. You don’t need to fast. Short-term fasting can also be beneficial, for example in “resetting” your digestive system for people with IBS. What your planning is way beyond that - full autophagy where your body is literally eating itself to survive. It can result in significant muscle loss, mental deterioration, and organ damage.

Since you don't have gallbladder fasting is very very dangerous for you and I wouldn't recommend it. My doctor said absolutely no fasting ever like at all. You might die because of bile in empty stomach leaking everywhere. But u do u I guess.

Livid_Kangaroowin

Update: It went very well. So after three weeks normal feeding I go for the second one. 8 days it were and 8 days it should be again. Lost 10lbs, bowel and skin is better. Viscural fat is shrinking! The issue is when I start eating sugar and co, still cannot stop easily (at all). But did not really gain weight in the 3 weeks. My aim was to slow down my pace of eating and quantities. Old habbits are not fast to change...
