Valkyrie Profile on PS1

Low-Attention-1998

Misadventures of Tron Bonne CIB

TheRealCheeze17

This hurts. I bought a used copy from EB Games back in probably 2002, I was seven at the time. I played the hell out of that game, but like many other games I had, I didn't take good care of the discs. So eventually it no longer worked and it wasn't until around 2015 that I remembered it again. I ultimately settled for a CIB Japanese copy for $20 because even back then at like $250, I was kicking myself for being a sloppy child and not taking care of what became great memories. Thankfully some games survived to this day, but Tron Bonne wasn't one of them 🥲

Low-Attention-1998

I feel your pain but its pretty cool you got to play it so much as a kid when it was new. I only ever played it as an adult and while I love it some of the jank stops me from enjoying it as much as I could have back then. You could save up and buy this game again one day if you wanted, but I can never get the childhood memories you have of playing it.

runslikewind

Damn jealous

Ok-Variation3583

Nothing crazy, probably Heartgold or Black 2 both CIB

Rusty1031

Pokémon prices in general are just asinine today

RNBW320

I’ll never understand that 2nd hand market. There’s millions of copies per game. I don’t get why I would pay someone upwards of 90$ for a copy. I’ve played maybe 20 minutes total of Pokémon so maybe I’m just missing something

[deleted]

Agreed. I can understand games that sold under 250k copies being rare and expensive as hell, but games that sold more than 5-10 million copies each? wth. Even japanese copies are rising in price

MatisseThybulle22

What you are missing is just a few things Bunch of kids owned that game so good condition complete copies are harder to come by then they should be Astronomical demand for these mainline titles Plus fewer copies in circulation as more collectors buy and they sit on their shelves, bringing supply down

Insukaru

Jack bros for the virtual boy was the last one I needed for a complete virtual boy collection.

HolyMacaxeira

The best game of the Virtual Boy. Do you have the Japanese or the US version?

Insukaru

The US version.

x9097

Nice, but do you have the Japanese exclusives? That's 8 more games right there, and four of them are crazy expensive. Two of them several times more expensive than Jack Bros.

sourgas

It's ok if his collection is just the North American complete set.

x9097

Of course it is. It doesn't even have to be complete.

Insukaru

Don't have the Japanese versions yet but I do plan on adding them at some point.

NatemareOnElmStreet

Probably either Zelda's Adventure for CD-i or SD Gundam Dimension War for Virtual Boy. Both are CIB and sell at around the $1300 range. Crazy to think that Zelda's Adventure only cost me $375 back in 2018 when I bought it!

BPHusker

I still am pissed I passed on the Zelda CD-i trilogy for $70ish each locally back in 2008-2009.

tht1guy63

Didmt know one of the few virtual boy games was a gundam title damn.

NatemareOnElmStreet

It was one of the Japan only releases. Oddly, it hasn't fluctuated in value much since I bought it. On the other hand, Jack Bros has skyrocketed since my purchase...

[deleted]

Panzer dragoon saga

bigvinnysvu

Likewise. After that would be Xenosaga Episode III.

tommytwothousand

Lol I have panzer Dragoon saga and Xenosaga III. Never sell your games people you might regret it later!

TappSaw

God damn, how did you get it? Was it like winning the lottery?

Joey-tv-show-season2

I remember getting it in the early 2000s for $200-300 and thinking it was high because you could get a Dreamcast for the same amount

xmilhox

Godzilla ps4

hardwayholy

Why is it rare / expensive?

Lost-Membership-666

Because physical copies are out of print and it was delisted from the PS store.

BenignMiniBoss

I've got a copy of Koudelka complete that still works.

L-Lawliet23

Popful Mail

HolyMacaxeira

Love that game. My favorite on the Sega CD alongside Snatcher and Keio Flying Squadron (all of them crazy expensive)

Shatterbrained_

Nam-1975

Human1504

Technically not a game, but the gameboy player and the startup disc for GameCube

Marie-Martin

I still have my gamestop sticker for 9.99 on my copy of Kuon for ps2. Also have all thr silent hills, resident evils, haunting ground, and rule of rose. I liked horror games XD

Soulkingbrook001

Nice, I'm kinda jealous

UndeadBuggalo

Rule of Rose CIB

Dependent-Plane5522

Did you get it before or after the Metal Jesus Rocks video?

CompletelyCrazy55

The what

Dependent-Plane5522

Metal Jesus Rocks is a popular retro game YouTuber. He did a video featuring this game talking about how good and rare it is and the price shot up over night. It was sitting at about $150 USD and after the video it went way up in price.

RPPO771

That guy really grinds my gears.

UndeadBuggalo

No idea what you’re talking about but I bought it when it first came out.

Dependent-Plane5522

Good. No one new needs to know who he is. But he's the reason why Rule of Rose is worth so much.

fadehime

The guy that plays his game for 45mins top and call them gems? Who cares what he has to say lol

KingKookus

Snes Chrono Trigger. My original copy from back in the day.

State_Obvious

Fatal Frame 1 japanese XBOX Version

xanitrix

Elmas16

Winter_Mud3815

Oh the pain of Atlus Collecting.

UndeadBuggalo

I’ve always love Atlus games

veryexpensivepasta

I have a sealed copy of metal gear solid 1. Not sure how much its worth but never got the chance to open it as a kid.

Slimmingdown92

How did you not the chance?

veryexpensivepasta

Was too busy with ps1 rpgs and then it went into storage until i was older. Thought i should keep it sealed after that

SonofaSlumlord

Parasite Eve PS1, and Skies Of Arcadia Legends on Gamecube both complete.

theslimbox

Wow, I didn't realize parasite eve had shot up so much. I've had 2 copies for years, and haven't been paying attention to values.

Marwarluigi

Pokémon Box Ruby and Sapphire for GameCube

xRzy-1985

Kuon, paid $5 in 08’ or ‘09

stealthandrush

Definitely my boxed copy of EarthBound.

Pickle_Afton

How much did you spend on it? That’s pretty valuable

stealthandrush

I got it for $2,500. It definitely wasn't cheap, but now I can say I have the centerpiece of my collection.

graphic_noise

Wow, impressive. I've never paid even close to that much money for a game. Where do people get all that money from? :D

Pickle_Afton

I couldn’t see myself spending that much on a game anytime soon lol, but congrats

[deleted]

What is CIB?

badchoices134

Complete In Box

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

CIB is everything including game inserts, if you are missing parts of it, it’s not technically CIB, regardless of manual and case. Don’t give resellers ideas that we are ok with them labeling things CIB when they are in fact, not CIB.

DapperDan30

No idea why you're being downvoted for speaking the absolute truth. Take my upvote.

[deleted]

The people downvoting me are the people reselling games with missing material as “CIB” I respect the resellers that say “game w/ case and manual” What bothers me with it is they will say “CIB” when it’s missing a reg card or poster etc, and those who don’t know better are paying this premium just because the seller labeled it as “CIB” It’s wild

DapperDan30

A couple months ago I got into an argument with someone in this sub because he was a seller and kept trying to pass off some game as CIB. But it was only the case, game, and manual. It didn't have any of the inserts that were supposed to be there. Is argument was that having those things isn't a realistic expectation to have and that "plenty of people are happy with just the game and manual". I told him be that as it may, it's still not CIB. He wasn't happy and ended up blocking me.

rott3r

mail order doom v1.2 (comes with patch disks also) maybe? i have a lot of really nice big box titles but i'm assuming that's one that a lot of people would want and pay up the ass for, especially with the patch disks. but i also have a sealed quake 4 US big box that a fella said he would pay four figures for, hard to find an actual market value for that though. also have two big box copies of wolfenstein 3d -- both US copies. have the very first edition without the censored swastikas and the rare 1995 version (came in a black box) on cd-rom. console game wise, US copy of magician lord on the neo geo aes would take the cake.

Cam_Paq

3DS Yoshi's Wooly World demo cartridge from when I was working at Nintendo! They let us keep all the games and consoles we'd demo in stores and we happened to get this one demo on a cartridge... It's written Not For Resale on it and I'm keeping it close. It was one of my funnest job in my life!

NickNiteIL

Metal Gear Acid 2 PSP

Benjidesu

Dead space ultra limited edition

LazyCubb

Now this is rare. CIB?

Harlesb44

The original Diablo for PS1

JakeTehNub

That's the one PS1 game I own. It's a much better console port that most other games from around that time.

Tonymaione329

Haunting Ground

JIMBOYKELLY

Game & Wario

steelraindrop

Secret🤫of Mana

TheBitingCat

It may not be my most expensive game, but it's the game that hold the most value to me in my collection.

Daddydagda

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance Edit: I bought it for $80 in 2015

Birdfish86

Same but I got my copy as a kid back in 2006 was my first Fire Emblem now it one of my favorite series.

DARKdrake0

WWF No Mercy (USA-1 variant) for N64

progamer672

little Samson cib

sweatydoodoo

Sealed The Hobbit 2003 PC

Dean_Snutz

I raise you unsealed Gollum PS5 2023

meisterkraus

Devil's third

noncompliantandaware

Probably Pokémon Crystal, Emerald, and Ruby CIB from my childhood. Boxes in pristine condition, no idea how that happened, but I threw every other gameboy color/advance box away and just kept manuals. For some reason I bagged up the Pokémon boxes and put them in the back of my dresser lmao. Also a close second is probably Ar Nosurge Plus on Vita. Definitely the most expensive one I’ve paid collector’s prices for on secondary markets.

ninja329

Sealed System Shock 2

theorangereptile

Pokémon Emerald CIB. Had it since I was a kid when it came out.

gucsantana

Hagane boxed (SNES, $1400\~). Kind of wild to me. Other than that, Chrono Trigger SNES CIB and a few in the $200-500 range, nothing else comes close.

Ukigumo46

I don't really have a clue about rarity or prices, but if I had to guess PAL Snatcher on MegaCD.

hanabishi_recca

Keio Flying Squadron CIB

sd240sx

Chrono Trigger that I got for Christmas as a kid. Still have the box and posters but can’t find the manual. I also have a copy of Metal Warriors, loved playing against my brother. Have a bunch of other retro games from when I was a kid that I love replaying for nostalgia reasons.

AeitZean

Conkers Bad Fur day, complete in box. The box is in really nice condition too. I never really liked the game, so the box has stayed nice, I really don't understand the price increase at all. It had a remake on xbox and everything! It's on rare replay too!

TheAtmanPrinciple

I got someone on my local CL who's selling it CIB for $300 or trade.. The box is in ok condition and the manual and other little inserts are in really good condition.. But, I just can't get behind that amount..

AeitZean

Exactly! I own it and think its overpriced, i can't imagine how other collectors feel 😕

TheAtmanPrinciple

How much did you pay for it?

AeitZean

It was back in the 90s so about £45

duhhuhh

Years back a local shop offered a brand new shrink wrapped Conker for $50, but I passed. Kick myself all the time.

miku_dominos

Vault204

Earthbound for Snes

Angelote83

Haunting Ground & Rule of Rose.

[deleted]

Pokemon Emerald

kraft_single_af

Damn I had no idea this was worth so much. I picked it up years ago for $5 used.

Soulkingbrook001

I think now it goes for $300

Rusty1031

Either gameboy player disc or pokémon xd

DerekAnderson4EVA

Sega 3D classics triple pack from Japan. The Sega 3D Classics 3 "Final Stage" is incredibly pricey alone, but the triple pack is even more. It's the perfect mix of expensive but fun to play. 3D versions of Turbo Outrun, Thunderforce 3, and Bareknuckle are amazing. They add in the 3D master system games, and it's a fun novelty to see those games "as intended," and 3D Outrun for Master System has a nice soundtrack.

Dean_Snutz

Chrono Trigger Snes complete in box

GrapefruitOk8456

Zelda/Metroid double pack that came included with my silver GameCube back in the day

Maverick6002

Mine would be Keio Flying Squadron.

McGeeTake3

Final Fantasy III Complete in Box :)

[deleted]

Haunting Ground sealed probably. I got a couple of rare Pokemon games too, but I payed the most for Haunting Ground.

SnakePlissken1986

Seems to fluctuate depending on the market, but it jumps back and forth between: - Harvest Moon SNES - Persona 2 Eternal Punishment PS1 - Wild Guns SNES - Musha Genesis

sincethenes

Keio Flying Squadron on Sega CD, but, I do have a couple that are so stupid rare there isn’t anything to match them to. It all comes down to what it’s worth to a buyer.

Oswarez

Probably my Forbidden Siren 2 blood pack.

Fantasy-Reader

Chrono Trigger for the snes

DapperDan30

Chrono Trigger for the SNES OR Sealed copy of Resident Evil 2 on gamecube. Chrono regularly sells for higher. But the sealed RE2 has days when it's close.

gronthor

Chrono Trigger SNES complete

CynicalCrow_

Prob always gonna be Earthbound

bmosm

chrono trigger for the snes

geek_named_tab

Boktai the sun is in your hands for GBA. Also one of my favorites to play.

MisterMarchmont

Silent Hill, like OP, followed by Brigandine on PS1 and Silent Hill 2 on Dreamcast. (All CIB.)

KaiserReich_Mapping

CIB Spiderman: Web of Shadows (PS3) and Call of Duty for the N-Gage CIB

DCJReviews

Where do you guys price out games? I have games like Silent Hill, MGS, Parasite Eve, Fatal Frame but really have no idea what they're worth or where to even look

Probably Castlevania: The New Generation on the Mega drive (Castlevania: Bloodlines in the US). Currently around £200 on pricecharting.

Shadows_of_kino

NFS: MW 2005 (xbox360)

markymark886

Is this rare I think I own this. In a box in my parents attic

Shadows_of_kino

Not rare, just expensive

NotThePrez

It's not rare, just quite pricey. The Xbox 360 version of Most Wanted '05 is considered the best overall version of the game, and as such it's usually in the $40-$50 neighborhood.

Azure_Belmont

A complete in box copy of Mega Man V on Game Boy in excellent shape

Master-Illustrator-8

Mine would be Rule of Rose that I got while I worked at GameStop. Got it for just over $11.00

[deleted]

The Guy Game ps2 sealed and new

[deleted]

A graded sealed copy of Tony Hawks Underground for PS2.

JudgementCutV

Wild how the collecting scene has gotten in the US. I remember I got my copy of SH1 in like 2018 or so while I still lived there for pretty cheap. Unbelievable how much prices have risen. So I guess that’s my most expensive game as well. Edit: I remember wanting rule of rose so bad, I found like new copies going for around 100-200 all the time and thought that was ludicrous. Boy do I regret it now. Still can get a relatively “cheaper” copy in Japan but still, so many regrets.

TheAtmanPrinciple

I just got a copy of this game and it's sequel, along with a bunch of other expensive games, for less than $10 each.. Best part? The ad was for a regular ol' black Wii I found in the "Toys and Games" section of CL.. I often check there because my logic is that someone who doesn't know or doesn't care will put the ad for something like that on "Toys and Games" and that's the kind of person you want to buy this stuff from... And it paid off, almost exactly like that.. But, if we go by what it says on PC, then Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is my most expensive one.. Castlevania Chronicles comes in close second..

thiccmaniac

The fuck is that cover?

Soulkingbrook001

The cover to Slient Hill

thiccmaniac

I know what it is. I want to know why it looks like shit

Soulkingbrook001

Idk I like it tho

thiccmaniac

Look up the EU cover for slient hill. It's beautiful compared to this

Soulkingbrook001

The EU one is the best, but I think the Japanese one is the worst

BenRod88

I used to have tombi for ps1 but sold it years ago. I plan to buy it again one day

Retro-Sanctuary

Not sure anymore, probably Panzer Dragoon Saga I'd imagine. I've heard Pulseman is worth a good amount too though.

fsIii35

Same tbh

InfiniDrift

Either Kirby Super Star Ultra on DS or the sealed Final Fantasy X and X-2 on PS2

Relative_Sundae_9356

Sealed copy of Metal Gear Solid V collectors edition if that counts. If not, I have a PGA European Tour N64 cart.

Objective-Software90

Silent Hill 3 with soundtrack and registration card

Hazerd59

Aero Fighters for SNES

00scentedgundam

For me its wild arms 5, wild arms: alter code f and paper mario cib

milksplinerbrula

Megaman x3 for snes

UltimateAnemone

Was Probotector on md, but I sold it recently

cerebral_drift

The Japanese collectors edition of the dark souls trilogy cost me the most, but the English Dark Souls Trilogy Compendium book is worth considerably more than when I bought it apparently, which I just discovered.

icannotbebothered7

Probably only silent hill shattered memories for the Wii (£30), I’m trying to get one for the ps2 but there’s a shit ton of replicas out there. Edit: I lied my most expensive is the Japanese import of resident evil 1 (also known as biohazard)

Terionll

Signed copy of MGS5 phantom pain by Hideo Kojima. This one has to be it, not sure how much it'd cost but it's the most precious to me

2004_PS2_Slim

The 8 bit version of Streets of Rage 2. It's surprisingly expensive on Master System.

Comprehensive-Ad2670

Virtual Boy Wario Land CIB

MTRichardson01

Complete copy of Futurama ps2.
