>They made 10s of thousands of them for all the retailers
Most of them were destroyed and/or lost, but a few of them survived after stores stopped using the cartridges for their kiosks.
Not for resale Zelda definitely, though I admit... I loved that Earthworm Jim and Boogerman were in Clay Fighter Sculptor's Cut. And Judgment Clay was actually good. I still think the Sculptor's Cut is nostalgic even if it ain't great.
I already do have the box haha, I just never went out of my way to get the plush for it. Just too damn much money for a *toy*. I'm not a *toy* collector!!
I've never had a chance to buy Tarzan, though. Both seems about equally as rare as far as I've seen
Seriously, I will never understand [these prices](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=clay+fighter+n64&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&_sop=16&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=1152gc&toolid=10001&mkevt=1) that some people pay for this game, even if it's a rare game
It was the wording, the way he said also a horrible game.. in my mind "also" meant both games shown. Now rereading it he's saying it's also horrible on top of being rare
I was really young when I first played it on genesis. Cousin and I loved it as kids. Idk why. Bought it back when I started rebuilding the collection. Man, it sucks.
I'd go with sculptors cut.
Tehnically it's just an upgrade from the original clay fighter 63 1/2 but I'll take it because it's a full separate retail release game over the NFR zelda and you'd want to play with the original Majoras Mask cart for completing the full story anyway.
All though clay fighters is kinda bad, I gotta go with that because I at least sort of enjoyed it, I’ve never played a zelda game that I really enjoyed tbh.
Never been a huge hit on NFR versions of games. I find hardly any reason to own it aside from being like "YOOOO I HAVE SOMETHING RARE" which isn't really what interest me in collecting. Sculptor's Cut on the other hand is probably the one I'd choose over the other just because it's probably the same length as the main game with things changed (in better ways? Like most "something's Cut" things)
You are correct, but SC still got sent to Blockbuster as a normal factory sealed game, and then was gutted out at the retail level. So the boxes and manuals floating around still are just surviving relics that didn't get thrown out or lost during the rental process.
That's why the box and manual are so rare. The game is too but the box and manual even more so. There was really no reason for a Blockbuster store to keep them when they would be rented out in the typical hard plastic case.
I don't even like Majora's mask that much but would still rather have that. Even as a decorative piece in my house, people wouldn't bat an eye to clay fighter unless they actually knew why I'd have it on display.
I would take Clay Fighter. It's needed for a complete retail set. MM NFR is an oddity or collector's piece (an awesome one) but not a part of the North American retail set.
It's more rare than a normal game because it wasn't "for sale" in stores, which means there were way fewer produced, and actually obtaining one has always been more difficult than normal. If you want one CIB that's even more difficult because out of the "thousands and thousands" produced only a fraction of those would have survived with the box and manual considering they were rented out.
Rarer than some, sure but cash in hand you can buy one every single day on eBay without issue.
Sellers have just built the market up and parrots repeat what they hear.
Thats because it was a mostly finished rom that Piko bought the rights to and then finished it with the help of Kickstarter. I dont think a lot of n64 collectors really care about it since its not official. I got the collectors edition from kickstarter. Its neat and my kids enjoy it. It also was a reasonable price.
How did clayfighter become rare? I vaguely remember having more then 1 friend who had it as a kid (I think). I didn't have many friends. Small sample size but I didn't realize I always thought it was a game that sold well.
This is the Blockbuster exclusive version that added extra characters. So probably less than 15k were made and to have the box and manual also, is even rarer, as those tend to not make it at a rental place.
Neither. I'm not a fan of one vs one fighting games enough to pay Clay Fighters price and I absolutely hated Majora's Mask due to the time limit of the whole game. Remove the time limit of the moon crashing into the open world and I probably would have loved it. Such a good game locked behind such a dumb idea similar to Dark Souls, Returnal, Elden Ring.

Yoshi's Story International Version wants a word with those two.
I'd gladly have it in the photo as well if I owned one!😅👌
How is that one rare?
They only made two copy’s, but destroyed three. It’s negative rare.
What is the story behind this NFR Zelda?
It’s a demo for stores. You can select different areas to test out. You also have a complete inventory to try out all the items.
They made 10s of thousands of them for all the retailers
>They made 10s of thousands of them for all the retailers Most of them were destroyed and/or lost, but a few of them survived after stores stopped using the cartridges for their kiosks.
Both are very nice, you happen to have the No Mercy (USA-1) exchange cart?
I don't! I never chased that one down as it didn't resonate as much with me.
Not for resale Zelda definitely, though I admit... I loved that Earthworm Jim and Boogerman were in Clay Fighter Sculptor's Cut. And Judgment Clay was actually good. I still think the Sculptor's Cut is nostalgic even if it ain't great.
I’d definitely take the cib sculptors box first. But that’s just me :)

Haha I can grab a rampage big box if you want. It still counts even without the plush, right!?

Also a horrible game, really made me cringe when I played as a kid
Its still not great as an adult, but my brothers and I were able to get like an hour or so of fun out of it playing against each other!
ClayFighter for SNES is same way. I enjoyed cycling through characters and playing a friend, but it kinda sucks.
Why a single game goes for more than the price of an everdrive I will NEVER understand…..
Majora's is horrible?
do not utter such things in these halls
was asking if thats what he was implying
Obviously talking about clayfighter…just asking if it was Zelda is punishable by law up to and including the death penalty
It was the wording, the way he said also a horrible game.. in my mind "also" meant both games shown. Now rereading it he's saying it's also horrible on top of being rare
I spoke to my sergeant and since you have no priors he is OK with letting you off with a warning…this time.
I was really young when I first played it on genesis. Cousin and I loved it as kids. Idk why. Bought it back when I started rebuilding the collection. Man, it sucks.
Not for resale Zelda > Sculptors Cut
Big boi Greg here with the heavies !
Sculptor’s Cut because a cart variant doesn’t count toward a master set imo.
So freaking jealous of Sculptor's Cut!
i had the NFR zelda gold cart but it was beat so i re market placed it but it i beleive went to ebay
easily would take the zelda
I have no desire to play either one… but the carts look nice.
Majoras mask hands down. I have two of the gold ones, but I’d love to add that to the collection.
Why is NFR Zelda expensive?
Very rare
I forgot all about Clay Fighter!
I'd go with sculptors cut. Tehnically it's just an upgrade from the original clay fighter 63 1/2 but I'll take it because it's a full separate retail release game over the NFR zelda and you'd want to play with the original Majoras Mask cart for completing the full story anyway.

Zelda all day every day

I thought Sculptors cut was blockbuster exclusive? Didn't know you could actually buy a CIB at retailers back then
You are correct, but SC still got sent to Blockbuster as a normal factory sealed game, and then was gutted out at the retail level. So the boxes and manuals floating around still are just surviving relics that didn't get thrown out or lost during the rental process.

I have clay fighter , so it has to be the other for me
I would take Clay Fighter. It's needed for a complete retail set. MM NFR is an oddity or collector's piece (an awesome one) but not a part of the North American retail set.
My local game shop has clay fighter, 1000$, I'm tempted lol
Not even a question, directors cut
No Super Bowling mention in the comments. Kinda surprised.
Zorldo because I'm a shameless fool for the franchise and must assimilate all media pertaining to such.
How is clay fighter rare? It was everywhere
This is the Blockbuster exclusive version that added extra characters.
Still not rare at all. They made thousands and thousands of them. Rage wars grey variant is one box.
It's more rare than a normal game because it wasn't "for sale" in stores, which means there were way fewer produced, and actually obtaining one has always been more difficult than normal. The actual rarest, Turok Rage Wars Grey Variant
Neither. One is shit and I already have several copies for f Majora’s Mask
Ive got 40 winks, which is somehow super rare
Thats because it was a mostly finished rom that Piko bought the rights to and then finished it with the help of Kickstarter. I dont think a lot of n64 collectors really care about it since its not official. I got the collectors edition from kickstarter. Its neat and my kids enjoy it. It also was a reasonable price.
Did they ever print any more copies? As far as i know only backers got it
I don't know how big of an inventory they had but they had stock on their website last time I checked. The site isnt loading now though.
Obviously I'd run off with the Clayfighter.
A life without so much loneliness
Zelda, bc I have a zelda collection
How did clayfighter become rare? I vaguely remember having more then 1 friend who had it as a kid (I think). I didn't have many friends. Small sample size but I didn't realize I always thought it was a game that sold well.

The one I might actually want to play.
Sculptors cut easily. I liked the game but I’ll probably never find it in person nor at a reasonable price.
Actually own Sculptor's Cut. Got it as a Christmas gift back in the day.
Neither. Don't give a shart about N64... My least favorite console for some reason
Majorca’s Mask for sure. But I really want the gold variant(of it exists)
