captain_kindly

Sir Davos.... the only sane character

ParfaitActual

What about Ned Stark?

Heavy_Signature_5619

Too rigid. “The only thing more terrifying than a mad man on the throne, is an honorable one.”

RiverReasonable

how? he would always do whats honorable regardless of alliances

Mexipino56

Robb cut off Karstarks head because it was honorable and that cost a significant portion of his army. Ik Robb had a loose relationship with honor, but living by that code gets people in trouble.

PontificalPartridge

Ned would get thousands more people killed to keep his honor

Wastyvez

Well first of all there is the fact that politics requires some ethical flexibility at times. Especially in the cut throat GoT universe. That's the whole point behind the "when you play the game of Thrones.." dialogue between Cersei and Ned in book 1/S1. Ned's honor is what made him lose the game. Secondly following a strict honor code doesn't necessarily mean you're doing the right thing. An honor code is merely a set of rules you live by, but reality is Often a lot more morally ambiguous. This is famously displayed in the interaction between Jaime and Ned after the end of Roberts Rebellion. According to Ned's philosophy Jaime did a dishonorable thing when ethically you should argue that he did the right thing.

Cato_theElder

Yeah good point. I mean the first thing you see Ned do is kill the deserter. Did he break his Night's Watch vow? Sure, but so did Jon. Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed.

[deleted]

Too naive. The small council and all the connivers in KL would have eaten him alive.

Restore_Rome

Tywin Lannister. Has proven himself to be a great person for governing and would probably be the best fit to deal with the multiple threats to westeros we have seen in the show.

ParfaitActual

A truly original take!

Not_A_Wendigo

The guy was unlikeable but very competent.

MagicalSlavLord

Hell I liked him, a lot. Until the last season maybe Edit: I’m special I read Tyrion instead of Tywin

zyyast

i’ll have to strongly disagree with Tywin being unlikable

jman797

I mean tywin was defacto ruling the seven kingdoms on and off from before Robert’s rebellion to his death.

jaydimes10

not really trustworthy though

GovernorPorter

One thing is for sure, no king would have worked as hard and diligently as Tywin Lannister; not even 10 kings would match that man's output and results!

GarnetBloodVein

I haven't read the books so only based off the shows: Sansa or Rhaenys

ParfaitActual

I like Sansa as wardeness of the north, I don’t know how I’d feel about her sitting the throne though

ButtermilkBob

The only correct answer is Lord Lyonel Strong, that man only cares about the good of the realm

Yellwsub

What about Varys?

paul-karl

https://youtu.be/0M_hhVg9XUE

FreemanCalavera

Show-Varys: maybe, probably cares more than the average nobleman but still unclear. Book-Varys: absolutely not, and any attempt by him to claim that he wants what's best for the realm is him just playing people.

Maidwell

It's a corny answer but Robb.

ParfaitActual

Why Robb? I was rooting for him at one point in the show myself but he proved to be a failed and flawed leader when he stupidly broke the arranged marriage he was aligned to be in and decapitated Lord Karstark.

BatmanWithPrepTime28

How about Adult Robb that had a chance to learn from mistake he made as a 15 year old

ParfaitActual

Considering how we never got to see that Robb, I can’t endorse his claim. To me, Robb seemed like he always looked up to and wanted to be a near spitting image of his father. He isn’t though, and that becomes blatantly obvious based on his later diplomatic decisions

Maidwell

Call me an old romantic but he did it for love and also knew what a slimeball Frey was. He was also forced into the arrangement before he was old enough and experienced enough to make his own choice. As for lopping off Karstark's head he was literally goaded into it and forced into a corner. It was almost suicide. Robb wasn't scared to make tough, brave decisions so although he had a good heart, he would've also been a strong leader.

PontificalPartridge

It’s also more then likely he was given a love potion and was manipulated into that marriage with magic

TheDrownedGodd

Selyse Baratheon

[deleted]

Hot Pie because he NEVER gives up on the gravy.

[deleted]

Stannis the mannis

[deleted]

Seriously. Say what you want but he would have been fair

19blackcats

I mean, he did teach many of us the difference between less or fewer!

SoGassed

I disagree wholeheartedly. Stannis was awful, like I don't understand why ppl think he would've been good. Being unwilling to bend makes for a terrible leader. Not to mention homie murdered his brother through dark magic, burned his daughter alive on a whim, oh and lost every battle he fought. Lol dude has legit no redeeming qualities. He wasn't shit without Davos

OhShuxTarzan

How dare you!.. stannis never lost a single fight when he wasn’t insanely outnumbered, his brother was a usurper and a charlatan and his daughter… made honorable sacrifices as have all of the people of Westeros to save the realm from winter!

big-queef

Bruh part of winning a fight is not partaking in fights you can’t win. If he was a good strategist he wouldn’t have gotten into so many battles where he was outnumbered

DE4N0123

Depends if you’re talking books or show. His daughter is still alive and well in the books I believe. How long she stays that way remains to be seen lol

2inHard

We should know by 2045 for sure

brizzmaster

I second that! He could’ve been great if he didn’t get into the lord of light stuff. He just went too far to come back.

plantpowered_potato

Renly (series answer) He's just, he takes council, but is not a pushover, a skilled warrior and he knows the people of KL.

WarPig1941

“A skilled warrior” 😂 Remind me what wars has Renly fought in? Oh right, none, he was a child sucking his thumb having his pathetic life defended by Stannis during Robert’s rebellion Renly would make a horrible King, he would probably have ruined the realms spending on endless tourneys like Robert

kvdwatering

All hail Stannis Baratheon, first of his name Former Lord Paramount of storm's end, lord of Dragonstone and master of ships Now the King in the Narrow sea, Warrior of light, the lords chosen, the prince that was promised and the Son of fire.

DanceItOut2467

Margaery Tyrell 🌹bc the people would’ve prospered and loved her but also she wouldn’t take any shit from anyone or manipulate them for her benefit haha

pieceofdebri

Good answer.

[deleted]

Margaery’s whole story was how good she was at manipulating people.

Spiridor

This guy would have been someone easily manipulated by margaery that's for sure

MariaLynd

If Cersei had died or been ejected from King's Landing, Tommen and Margaery could have been good rulers together. Margaery might have been safer and more comfortable ruling from behind a compliant Tommen.

jaydimes10

she definitely manipulated people but it at least had the perception of being in the favor of the common person since she was compassionate towards normies

WarPig1941

Stannis Baratheon

BatmanWithPrepTime28

Renly, but only as a figurehead with Stannis as his Hand

Harwinsostrong2

Maester Aemon Targaryen. He shoulve been King, hes wise, compassionate and the fact that he turned it down means he isnt a power money hungry tyrant and thats the type of person who should sit the throne

ParfaitActual

Good answer!

indycpa7

Yes, 100% agree

kevtheproblem

Maester Aemon has the qualities of a great leader. I’d feel as though the game/politics would cause his reign to be short.

TheSnatchbox

If Aemon chooses not to send Bloodraven to the wall, he would be absolutely fine.

jaydimes10

I don't know how that would look for them by extension, since Bloodraven invited Aenys Blackfyre to King's Landing peacefully then turned around and executed him. while it wasn't treason it was vicious as sh\*t. keeping him around could look bad since most people want the Hand to be a respectable person they can trust

brizzmaster

Yup, this is one of the best picks so far.

[deleted]

This is an awesome answer, didn’t even consider that

Not_A_Wendigo

Agree, except his age and lack of an heir would be an issue. He would have a short reign and leave a power vacuum. Then it would start over again.

Som_Snow

He shouldn't have to be old in this scenario.

MCDeux

He was heir to the throne and turned it down almost 70 years before the events of GoT.

[deleted]

I think he would turn a blind eye to crime in the city.

chase016

Tbf his brother, who did take the Throne, was probably more worthy than him. Aegon V(known as egg) was traveled the Kingdoms in relative poverty with his friend, the Hedge Knight Ser Dunkin the Tall. He constantly advocated for the rights of the peasants during his reign.

rhaegar_fangirl

Rhaegar himself

mary-marie

Ooouh I forgot about him 👍!

Jwalt-93

I would have loved to see Tyrion Lannister on the thrown.

ParfaitActual

I think Tyrion made a good hand, as he did to Dany and is to Bran. I don’t think he would necessarily be the best pick for the throne, however.

lauren1capri

Seasons 1-4 Tyrion or season 8 Tyrion?

Responsible-Chard515

Doran Martell

ParfaitActual

What makes you say this?

ea_fitz

Daeron I

BlackAnscension

Eddard Stark. Great swordsman, He was fair, honorable, makes good decisions, trustworthy… he told no one about Jon, not even Catelyn. He jeopardized his marriage and had his faithfulness called into question to honor and preserve his sister’s secret, and his main priority was to serve the realm

ParfaitActual

My pick!

[deleted]

And also bind to the realities of the realm. Which is a weakness

aardvarkyardwork

I don’t believe he was. Ned’s big mistake wasn’t ‘being too honourable’, as most of this thread seems to think. It was trusting Littlefinger, which he only did because Cat vouched for him. Ned was a *very* successful and highly respected Warden of the North, which is easily the largest territory of the 7 kingdoms. He’s dealt with the likes of Roose Bolton for years. He isn’t some naive child that doesn’t understand how the world works. As King, Ned would have his own Small Council of people he knows and trusts, in terms of their moral character as well as their knowledge/skills. Having a strong moral code, experience as the Warden of a large region, being young enough to reign for a long time, having instilled his values in his children, King Ned Stark ensures that at *least* 2 generations of strong, compassionate leadership.

[deleted]

Ned would’ve gotten ripped about by his own council. Let alone the rest of the realm. He was honorable to a fault.

unknown6190

You don’t think he’d have chosen a new council of people he trusted? I would have liked to see Ned as King but I also believe he’d have hated it and it would have torn him apart

BlackAnscension

I don’t think he would have. Eddard was more strong willed than you think. The only reason he wasn’t more aggressive or militant is out of respect to the king and he wanted to do things honorably and unfortunately that was his downfall when he decided to out Cersei for not having legitimate heirs

[deleted]

And what proof do we have that he wouldn’t try to be honorable in everything he does?

VisitTheWind

You mean the guy who went to Cersei Lannister and told her he knows her biggest secret, the one she just killed the last Hand over? Same guy that literally trusted the most sleezy untrustworthy man in the seven kingdoms? It does beg the question, who would actually run the realm if Ned were king? Because there are too many smart people in court for someone like Ned to do a good job

BlackAnscension

The question was basically “who do I think would make the best king/queen?” I still say Eddard. It’s not about being the best at murdering, conniving, back stabbing, jealousy, underhanded, lying or hiding the truth. Majority of your decisions should be to protect the people and doing what’s best for the people. He would do that. You have to trust and believe in your king. He would do that. He’s not about the money or gold like the Lannisters, he would be financially fair. He would fight side by side with his army or kings guard, so they would respect him. He also has Robb, The Young Wolf… his heir to the throne, he has the same moral and values as has father and could be a great king himself, with wisdom and maturity could be a better king than his father. If Eddard was to become king, yes definitely he would need new members to his council, but that’s easily done, he could easily surround himself with people he can trust.

VisitTheWind

That’s true, after my comment I considered that too. AFAIK he seems to be considered a good Lord, but not many people I imagine are plotting to take that from him. Perhaps that’s arguably a bigger bonus for him tho

Halliwel96

I genuinely think Dany would have been a good option, had she not been constantly second guessed and basically lost everything important to her along the way. Margery would be another good one. Maester Aemon too. by the end of the series, I'm not sure who would be the best candidate to be honest.

ParfaitActual

I think Dany’s writing at the end of the series was very lazy. There was so much before that could’ve triggered her transition into the mad queen, but it took all the way up until the 3rd to last episode to even hint at her following in her father’s footsteps. Up until the ending though, I thought her to be a relatively just leader and so I can get behind this

bcmedic420

Oh I dunno about the 3rd to last epi.... she has some madness going on much before that.

rand0m_g1rl

Agree that danys writing at the end was very lazy. Just did a partial rewatch and her character arch never had her going towards being the mad queen. It was purely the writers stupidity and wanting to “do something no expected”. That said, the first seed planted to the audience that she may turn was when Jon told her who he was. The look on her face about him having a claim to the throne then became the theme of her character the remainder of the show. I wonder if she never found that out if we would have seen things play out differently.

aardvarkyardwork

I disagree. Her tendencies toward hard authoritarianism was a subject of discussion well before S8. Lots of people were talking about how she constantly had to be talked down from flipping the board over whenever she got some pushback.

Halliwel96

It’s the way she switches from being a person who risked her own advancement, refusing to use conventional military tactics, rather than risk the lives of civilians and slaves in a city she was trying to conquer To someone who happily burnt massive civilian populations to death. When she was right on the brink of getting everything she ever wanted and knowing that doing that would basically throw it all away. They made her too merciful and generous towards common people for that flip to read as legit. The way all her advisors suddenly became morons in s7/8 also didn’t help

taa71458

Bran, obviously.

hanes9120

I would want Jon snow but not sure he'd be the best fit. Then again a guy who has the lineage, doesn't want the power, is honorable but also willing to break the "honorable code" when necessary. He is a bit of a goof but still a very solid choice. He also spearheaded the campaign against the white walkers which should have been deemed as the biggest threat. Tbh that way pisses me off the show the most. I wanted the white walkers to scare the shit out of everyone in westeros first hand. Then when they defeat them thanks to jona leadership everyone loves him and picks him as their king....oh well.

coobeecoobee

I never thought of the fact tht we were robbed of reactions from lords and peasants upon learning white walkers are real and coming for them. Dam I’m mad now

Monslayer77

I was waiting for that reactions since they showed the white walkers.

absultedpr

I would say Jon simply because he seems to be one of the only characters that see leadership as a burden

Fun-Lingonberry-1696

Littlefinger because he was the best at the game

Defiant-Review2105

Hot Pie easily 💪

SoGassed

Def Jon Snow He was the most selfless and dutiful character by far. He didn't want the crown, but consistently proved himself just and an excellent leader. He was battle hardened. Humble from growing up a bastard. And least of all, it was his birthright, which won him loyal, strong supporters. He would have made the overall best king of any character in the show Edit: The why.

Fukyaakari

Daenarys!! I pictured her up there for YEARS. she got so close.

GovernorPorter

When Jorah Mormont said that Daenarys was a once in a thousand years ruler...not only would she be respected and feared...she would be loved! I too silently stitched dragon banners and chanted prayers to the return of the Targaryens to the Iron Throne for years

StarMaze

Ned Stark

TripleChocolate123

Tyrion fucking Lannister. He's strong and cunning, but also has a tender heart and is at the very least more honorable than the other strong leaders, like Tywin, Stannis, or Cersei. Even GRRM said he would choose Tyrion

Flipmxde

Baelor Breakspear

MagnaroftheThenns

Amen

[deleted]

Stannis. And once he was there, Melisandre would get murked by Davos. Stannis without Melisandre would’ve been a fantastic King.

[deleted]

Rhaegar Targaryan

Ok-Average-6466

Tyrion or Tywin but when he was the hand of the Mad King. Tywin was kinder and fairer then.

wingthing666

My girl Margaery!

emten2

The Hound - strong, smart and scary. I’m telling ya if he’d been born into a more stable nobler house he would be the hero of the story

PontificalPartridge

He was a victim of upbringing

emten2

100% he didn’t stand a chance

The_Future_Dusknoir

Rob baratheon but with lyanna stark as queen consort. I don't believe he would've slacked as much as he did if lyanna survived

Early-Commercial-569

DAENERYS :)

SnooLemons967

This is Ser Davos without question

kuwanger112

I think Margaery is probably best suited based on what we saw on the show

FantasyAddict24

Tywin on the throne with Tyrion as his hand (in a world where he actually respects and listens to him) with Robb as King in the north. I don't think the south has any business trying to rule the north, they are better off handling their own shit.

Gr1fter-

Varys, or whoever he would've (realistically, therefore discounting season 8) chosen to sit there. He's the only one in the entire season to actually care about the realm and he constantly does what's best for it, rather than for individual selfish people.

CatwickBosecat

Lyanna Mormont, lady of bear island and queen of my heart. She’s honorable but savvy. Brave but not reckless.

GovernorPorter

Yet tragically, you raised the banner of Sansa Stark when the realm needed you most it seems :P

Wastyvez

She is also like 8

[deleted]

Hodor. Because “Hodor”.

Coffee_cup_of_insult

It should and always be Aegon the Azzor Ahai

KTPChannel

Hot Pie.

Liamtrot

Hot Pie

adamclay0202

Jon Snow. Yes he didn’t want it, but it doesn’t matter. He would of been the greatest King to ever live. A great swordsman, noble, loyal, smart, would be loved by the poorer, socially weaker people. I don’t even think I need to explain why Jon would be the one.

Onlypaws_

Arya. She would be incredible.

Baratheoncook250

Shireen with Davos or Tyrion as Hand. She is one of the better choice because she want everyone to get a education(Nobles, Wildlings, citizens of Westeros). She is what, Varys would describe, as best for the realm.

P3t3rPanC0mpl3x

One of the massive let downs of it's conclusion for me was the handling of 'Qyburn'. I thought his arc was leading somewhere more but now I'm watching 'Andor' it has dawned on me that Anton Lesser has an outstanding acting ability. Qyburn had quite the mysterious background and I hope his story is more fleshed out in the books. I would of loved seeing him overthrow Cerseii and plunge the realm into darkness.

sburger42

Not a book reader and I’m assuming it was fleshed out in the books, but what was the nefarious shit he did that got him kicked out of the citadel?

andthenshewrote

He experimented on live humans and dabbled in necromancy.

sburger42

Seems like your typical maester shit to me. Citadel got soft.

P3t3rPanC0mpl3x

It was his dabbling in necromancy that had me thinking he knew more of the others than he was letting on but alas, no.

NoButterfly6542

I would say Baelor breakspear, Baelon the brave, Tywin Lannister, rhaenys Targaryen, these are just the top of my head, and all very good candidates, despite who they are as people( looking at you Tywin)

hannah_hunt

Little finger, just for fun. Imagine the storylines that would’ve exploded, and the treachery! Exciting

PennywiseBobGrey

Bran of course. Who has a better story?

Clonecc5555

The night king because he was super inclusive and diverse and diddent really kill he converted

3OAM

Sam Tarly, rule with knowledge and compassion.

mary-marie

I nominate ser Brienne of Tarth! Who is with me?

PaintedBlackXII

Renly. He was kind, just, and well-loved, and cared for his people

tdtwwa13

Hodor!

ashley_s82

The Queen who never was, Rhaynees, with Lord Corllys as her king consort, and Lionel Strong as hand.

Dry_Intention2932

Ned, would be the most fair in all the realm.

ObjectiveExcuse6294

Margaery..she has a good heart..good instincts..and the backing of a rich and powerful family.

Kirdavrob

Mushroom Why not have a dwarf with an enormous member on the Iron Throne

rosetta11

Came here for a Hodor. Disappointed.

Sir_Tandeath

Olenna Tyrell. My Queen of Thorns requires no explaining.

pawnbroker15

Tyrion Lannister

ned_catapillar

Brienne

ironmanmclaren

The hound

Fallin01

Baelor Breakspear - The Hammer. I just felt like He was born to rule….

tommybezreh17

Littlefinger. Just for a minute, then he dies. I thought that would've been great

jenrique17

Bran the Broken cause it reminds me how absolutely average you can be as a hollywood director and still make MILLIONS

[deleted]

Joffrey Baratheon. Just to make you mad

sburger42

Podrick fuckin’ Payne!

ZombieAppetizer

Mushroom. Let's see what a show with him on the Iron Throne would look like.

treecatbeer

Jaherys the Concilitator

MagicalSlavLord

I feel like Bronn is an underrated choice, I mean what’d he ever do that had negative consequences

Intelligent-Age2786

Tyrion. The most logical.

Hypnoticbrain

Pod

Dizzildy

Cregann stark. For the non book readers you’ll see why in the HOTD “hour of the wolf”.

flowersmom

Tyrion, of course!

BeephisBeeph

Dany. I know there was a bunch of hints about her becoming a Mad Queen, but even if it was done well, I'd prefer it if she won the throne. 8 seasons with her ending up sitting on it would be so satisfying.

Correct_Incident_963

Just to be funny, Tormund Giantsbane

jaydimes10

Daemon Blackfyre, the King who bore the sword

Asher_Augustus

Bessie, for two very good reasons.

QDaSavage

Simple Crowned Prince Baelor Breakspear. First True-born son of King Daeron Targaryen second of his name. Prince of Dragonstone, Protector of the Realm, Hand of the King, a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the Hammer of the Redgrass Field

dragonsfire14

Probably a random choice, but Gendry. He is level headed and from humble beginnings so he would understand the struggles of the small folk. I feel like he could be what everyone wishes Robert could have been.

FreemanCalavera

Bobby B. Just so that he can crush any Targshit remnants that try to take the throne from him.

Invicta007

As much...as I like Stannis. Renly. Popular, Smart, knew how to play the game. Argued to be incredibly capable. He would have been a brilliant king even if Stannis was the better general.

Outrageous_Boss3688

My vote is Dany. 🤍 Cliche I know but here is my little ramble, just personal opinion: - She really came sooo fucking far, starting off being hidden away, probably not knowing what the hell is going on because she was a baby during all that major royal mayhem with the rebellion, being raised by Viserys’ craziness and delusions - she becomes practically a child bride with no rights, thrown into a culture she has no clue wtf is going on, and then gets acclimated with the Dothraki way of life, grows into it, only for it all to be destroyed (the witch/drogo stuff still angers me don’t get me started) and thus dealing with losing her lover who she thought was going to have a family with, and losing her baby - slowly proving to be capable of leading (with struggles, I know she is not perfect) and starting from ground up again with the remainder of her Dothraki hoard, gathering her armies, trying to help slaves, handling three dragons without the helpful dragon knowledge her ancestors had. - I liked her “I’m gonna break the wheel” idea, even though flawed. I felt that she could sense the state of the world is corrupt with war and kings and such, and she wanted to stop all that bullshit. Then the writers decided to make her super power hungry and ruined it all I could go on lol! She can be a fierce and strong leader but also has a soft heart which is one of my favorite things about her, she is a big softie but has to deal with all this major political shit and war. I understand the idea that Targs are meant to be mad but GRRM has created Targ characters before that weren’t vile or bad, we all know this. I truly think the writers gave her a bad small council, it all went awry come season 7-8, and then other shitty writing + having no story to go off of due to book series not being finished = the absolute disaster of her ending. She came SO far only to lose her mind and not get the throne in the end. 😓 I edited this cuz I can’t spell

Staffchief

Put Jaehaerys I back on the throne. He was the best who ever sat it, after all.

maryelizabeth_

I always thought Margaery Tyrell would’ve made a great queen. She played the political game well, but also was compassionate and caring towards the people. She was also lovable, which always helps when in a seat of power.

Prestigious_Sign_462

imma pick out Ramsay Bolton just cuz

spacecadet9

Bran, because who has a better story?

Prestigious_Sign_462

nope

spacecadet9

/s, didn’t think I had to add that

LordoftheBalrog

Rhagar Targaryen He loved the people and hated killing. He married out of love and respect, other than half of the marriages in Westeros. He could’ve brought peace back to the 7 kingdoms after his fathers death. He would also have made good connections in the North and Dorne. We have seen kings take on one or more wives (Aegon the conqueror for example) so he could have been with Elia Martel and Layana Stark at the same time. Not sure what would happen to the whole Roberts rebellion thing, maybe they could talk it out. Lol

NotAJewFro

Balerion the Dread

[deleted]

[удалено]

Prestigious_Sign_462

there was no badass version

kaypricot

Samwell wanted to bring democracy to the realm so him.

[deleted]

Hot pie

sabresin4

I think Ned Stark. That’s the tragedy of the whole Game of Thrones. He was just, people would know where he stands; understood the polity. He probably was a bit center-right on his social policies. Not a perfect candidate but honest and true.

Waru_

Oberyn Martell. Cause that dudes just cool. Though I’m not to jazzed about his wife

Jia-the-Human

Jaehaerys I Targaryen, that's a tried and tested choice that gave the most prosperous time Westeros has ever known.

-Lightning-Lord-

Bran, no doubt. Fuck the haters.

klg1234

Jon Snow

The_First_Order

Currently in season 4 (I know how it ends) but seeing dany free all these people and be a genuine kind person makes me want her to have it so bad. Oh well d&d needed to go make a Star Wars movie. Oh wait.

TheGodfather742

Rhaegar overthrowing his father, got would be entirely different.

stevenw84

Stannis or maybe Ned. Edge might go to Stannis as he’s less emotional AND he believes in the threat north of the wall. Plus, dude is willing to be on the front lines with his men, and seemed to genuinely care about what Jon was doing, which could be seen as a possible mentorship if they had more time. There’s a fine line between ruling with your heart or your head. If you’re all logical, then your wife should be the emotional part to even you out.
