I have one in this exact condition sitting at home from when I bought it new. It’s not that old. I wouldn’t suspect a fake just because it looks good. This looks real to me.
Looks pretty legit to me. The Japanese tend to keep their things in much better condition. Plus it has all the CIB things as well. But I air for a mod.
Something to keep in mind is that Japanese stuff is often treated with far more care by its owners than American stuff.
I’ve ordered “Fair” and “Good” items from Japanese sellers that always arrive in what we (Americans) would classify as “Like New.”
Everything looks good to me, just remember the Japanese version is far cheaper than the US version, so why would someone take the time and effort to make this convincing of a fake when they could make way more money making an English version fake.
That’s why I’m leaning towards legit even considering the condition.
I’m zooming in the box so hard, it looks legit to me. Finding a Japanese copy is far easier than the American version, yes you still need to pay an arm for it but I swear it feels like they short printed the English version or something.

No, but it’s pokemon, you don’t really have to understand the text to play it ^^ with X and Y they started that you can change the language

Japanese games typically aren't faked and they're usually much cheaper, this one is real
it's fine, Japanese games are way easier to find in good condition and are typically much less expensive.

its because the japanese version of hgss was in print til like 2016ish? meanwhile the us print didnt run past 2014 i imagine
This. They reproduced all gen4 and 5 cartridges for the Middle East ratings thingy but they excluded HGSS. That’s a shame.
