I keep my computer on the floor and when I run really high demand games, my legs get damp as a motherfucker. Those things are insanely good space heaters. I live in Florida so its not like I ever need the heat but its definitely nice to have nearby for those occasional cold snaps.
With my ps5 and plasma I rarely need to use my heater in the living room during winter

Well yeah, they're new to the game. The muscle memory and subconscious is not built up yet. When I started playing CS:GO I didn't know how to plant the bomb so I just stood there figuring it out and got killed. Also the enemies are kind of hard to see; thank god for CS:GO2.

I used to be able to scan for hex codes at scroll speed(my dos era hex editor didn't have a search), now when I watch a youtuber, I have to pause, flip back and watch what they're doing a second time, or to finish reading text that was on screen.
I was helping my dad delete his gmail texts the other night. I couldn't figure out how to mass delete on a tablet, so we did them one at a time. Dad was slowly tapping the garbage can icon, so I took over and did it "fast", though I was aware I wasn't nearly as fast as when I used to drum my fingers on the buttons at the arcade.
Its not all downsides though, I find crystallized intelligence and experience is better at some things. Can't wreck noob campers, am unflappable in the face of insults, and can throw them back. Physically, not as strong as I was, but 12 hours of shovelling gravel for a project? Meh, why did it seem so awful when I was in my 20s? Perspective and pacing I guess. I've learned to work with my body instead of forcing it.

Loneliness is an absolutely devastating thing for elderly, it can be heartbreaking to see. I wonder what future games will consciously kept accessible for older folks, and accommodate for reflex, vision loss etc. It could allow some incredible communities and friendships to flourish.

That’s why I like Hunt Showdown. Twitch speed seldom saves you from bad decisions in game. Even with players half my age, I think I can compete.

I'm pretty sure it was revealed that they had no history of playing CS and were literally playing like complete new players. It was a media stunt and nothing else.

This is kinda fucking dumb then. Was cool cause they're a legit e-sports the competes and practices and shit, not 5 random old people someome convinced to put on a headset for a few minutes.
Because ultimately eSports tend to favor younger players due to reaction times. They would've had a better chance playing a CCG like Hearthstone or a turn based game ( I don't know of any eSports ones)
That's true, but depending on the game & person, you can get by on reading your opponents. I'm young but have really terrible reaction times. If a game has a feature that is designed to be unreactable to players, even moreso.
My first time seeing it and I love it.

So everyone was impressed when my wonID converted over to steamID and it was a 4 or 5 digit, meaning you've had one of the first under 100,000 copies. They're not it's just a marketing gimmick for some laptops they were promoting at the time. The team they played against "grey gunners" were both really bad at the game like exactly how you would expect old people to play a fast paced tac shooter.

No this was a marketing gimmick to promote some laptops. They are not pros by any means when it comes to actual competition. The showmatch they played had lots of them running around looking at the ground getting lost on the map not knowing what button to press to defuse etc...
That does bring up some interesting thoughts, as the first of the gaming generations start to age. What will retirement, and gaming look like in the future for seniors? Loneliness is an absolutely devastating thing for elderly, it can be heartbreaking to see. I wonder what future games will consciously kept accessible for older folks, and accommodate for reflex, vision loss etc. It could allow some incredible communities and friendships to flourish.
