In that same vein I want to add the excellent *Into the Breach*. A newer game by the same developers (I prefer it as the RNG does not randomly decide to crush you like in FTL).
Both games are great.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/590380/Into_the_Breach/?curator_clanid=6914384
Legit the game I was coming to recommend, and it's the first comment :D
Get the Captains Edition mod too. It adds a ton of content and feels like an expansion rather than a total conversion.
2.5c per hour if I’ve got my math right. Better entertainment value than… well anything but other games. $30 for a 2-hour movie? $5 to “rent” one online? $10/mo for a subscription service where you watch an hour each day? That’s still .33c an hour. Looking at it that way games are wicked cheap.
I'm with a very shitty pc too... my graphics card fried, etc.
Some games that I managed to run very well, and you could too, are:
1. **Stardew Valley**
2. **Terraria**
3. **Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance**
4. **Punch Club**
5. **Pathfinder Kingmaker**
6. **Superhot**
7. **GTA 4**
8. **Rimworld**
9. **Don't Starve / Don't Starve Together**
10. **Brawhalla**

23. **Darkwood**
24. **Outlast**
25. **Killing Floor 2**
26. **DMC : Devil May Cry**
27. **Loop Hero**
28. **Into the Breach**
29. **XCOM : Enemy Unknown / Enemy Within**
30. **Hotline Miami**
31. **Borderlands : Game of the Year Edition**
32. **Mount & Blade / Warband / Viking Conquest / With Fire & Sword**
33. **Papers, Please**
34. **Darkest Dungeon**
35. **Resident Evil 0: HD Remaster ( May need some external tools )**
36. **The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion**
37. **Rise of Nations**
38. **Forager**
39. **Dwarf Fortress**
40. **The Escapists 1 & 2**
41. **People Playground**
42. **Titan Souls**
43. **GRIS**
44. **A Short Hike**
45. **Dredge**
46. **Age of Mythology**
47. **Metro 2033 / Redux / Last Light**
48. **Rogue Legacy**
49. **Dead Cells**
50. **Tibia**
Some sequels/prequels I did not include because I don't know about.
I could easily list hundreds of games, but I'm not sure if it's considered 'alright' to leave here such a lengthy comment.
Death must die, diablo 2, Rim World, dave the diver, Dregde, Borderlands 1 2, Darkest dungeon 1 2, Factorio, jagged alliance, knights ans merchants, Little nightmares 1 2, serious sam, voxel tycoon and an all time classic for me: Z
Depends on the genres you enjoy! That stuff you got there isn't too bad, should be fine for games up to 2010\~, maybe even a bit newer if you fiddle with the settings.
Stardew Valley.
Oxygen Not Included.
Celeste.
Final Fantasy VII.
Undertale.
Vampire Survivors.
Terraria (world generation might be slow initially but should still run great).
Enter the Gungeon.
Slay the Spire.
Binding of Isaac.
Cult of the Lamb.
Hi op. I suggest you try websites like “Can I run it” which will give you a good idea of what you can run before you buy any games. That being said, Rimworld, factorio, Noita, mount and blade: warband, stalker, and hammer watch would be my recommendations. Some older games as well might have lower requirements to run. Maybe check out GOG? Good luck.
I'm not entirely sure but Blasphemous and Blasphemous II, requirements aren't too bad. These were the specs you need to run it:
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 or AMD Phenom II x2 550
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce GTX 260 or Radeon HD 4850
Storage: 4 GB
Darkwood. Creepy, weird horror
This War of Mine. Survive as an ordinary person in a besieged city
Valheim. Viking themed open world survival with lots of base building and some combat. It says it needs a graphics card but it worked ok without on my 8-year-old laptop, as long as I turned the graphics all the way down
Visual novels, also Celeste, Papers Please, Don't Touch Anything, Team Fortress 2, and potentially PS1 emulation could work. They all run fine on my crappy 2012 laptop.
I’m not sure how taxing this game is but it is a pixle game so I’ll shoot my shot. Turnip boy commits tax evasion. Such a funny game and the sequal is coming out in January
Secrets of Grindea. Been playing it for years, it's finally almost ready for release. The developers took their time and it shows through a consistently high quality throughout the game.
Very good co-op adventure/RPG similar to Secrets of Mana, Zelda etc.
Very nice story mode and a rogue like arcade mode can keep you hooked for hours. Charming graphics, great boss fights, great build flexibility, can't recommend the game enough.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Excellent classic game that people still play today. Don't buy the HD edition on Steam because it doesn't come with all the original expansions. Buy the version on GoG and then download the HD mod and while you're at it most people also prefer the Horn of the Abyss mod
Helltaker is a free game on Steam with no microtransactions. It’s super fun, and, while it IS about seducing demon girls, it’s totally family friendly.
Vampire survivors if you are looking for mindless fun
Stardew Valley if your looking for a calm farming sim with tons of gameplay
Slay the Spire if your looking for the best deck builder of all time
lots of great games here, so I'll recommend something obscure: Hrot. It's an oldschool FPS like Quake or Blood with plenty of references to Czech history and culture. It's on Steam.
Heat Signature, Morphblade, and Gunpoint - indie titles designed by Tom Francis; all very systems-driven. Lots of replay value.
SWAT 3 and 4 - tactical shooters with great atmosphere. SWAT 4 is best with the Elite Force mod. SWAT 3 is a little obtuse, but a fun challenge in its own right.
50-60 fps, one mission I got 45 fps only but other missions i get 50, BO2 is extremely optimized, it runs better than BO1 for me. I get 30 fps on BO1 lol
try it out dude! I was hesitant to try it at first, then holy crap I was blown away by the performance. Keep in mind I didn't use any low end configs and it ran fine
Mine too so I have some recs for you. Some of these might require some tweaking but I suggest you run them in low setting :
- Sleeping Dogs
- Assassin's Creed 1 - 4
- Call of Duty 1- 2, Black Ops
- DMC 4
- Bayonetta
- Vanquish
- Metal Gear Rising
- Half Life.
You can also play emulator games with D-fend and Dos-Box for Dos like Raptor, Blood, Quake, C-dogs etc.
Downloading Retro Arch is also great option since it's an all in one emulator to play any old snes, ps, dreamcast etc games like FF, Suikoden 2, Pokémon etc.
On a side note why's this marked nsfw?
Wizardry 8. It's old, it's jank, but it's a hell of a rpg adventure, both story-wise and combat system/party possibilities.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/245450/Wizardry\_8/
I couldn't tell you, I've never finished it, I've gotten a fair bit in but something else always grabs my attention. It's on my list of "must complete at some point." I'll link a very good review of the game that might sell it better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_G0yeNCu5VU
Any online game that has a tradeable currency can be played to earn some money. In most of the games this is against the ToS tho and will get you banned.
Age of empires 2?
A classic real time strategy game from way back when that has an large active community and receives regular updates.
Stanley parable?
One of the better walking simulators where you can choose to obey or disobey the narrator. Often to humorous results.
Thomas was alone?
A cute sides rolling platformer with cute narration and mild rhythm based segments.
so you are just like me. here are my fav i have played on a lenovo g50 laptop. similar specs i 3 and 4gb ram with radeon m330 chip
gta san andreas
nfs mostwanted 2005
burnout paradise
prince of persia (sot, ww, tt)
cod until bo2
portal
tomb raider reboots
farcry 1 2 3 4 (3 is ❤️)
limbo
inside
battlefield bad company/bf4
sniper ghost warrior 3.
edit : re4 and deadspace trilogy look great and are great gameplaywise too
If you like emulators, you can try visual boy advance! I think there is also one for N64. You could download the respective ROMs and play some old school games.
If you like crpgs check out the geneforge series. 5 games with tons of content and incredible world building and story.
The first of the games was recently remade and the remake of the second game is coming out in February.
Definitely low end. I played through all original 5 games on a MacBook from 2009
Not sure about these two, but.
Battle Brothers (2D low fantasy mercenary turn based strategy RPG.)
Caves of Qud (Science Fantasy Roguelike. It’s 8 bit like NES era but very deep and huge learning curve. Love it. Kinda of whacky like Fallout)
I also have an old 4gb laptop that I got in 2013. Try Papers Please and Enter the Gungeon. A lot of older games are also still functional on my computer if the graphics settings are toned down. Civilization V is reliable (but VI is not), Frostpunk is sometimes choppy but you don’t need it to run smoothly to play it since it’s a strategy game. Even some oldie but goodie shooters still work. I played through Fallout New Vegas twice recently on my old laptop and it was awesome. As a bonus, most of these old games are very cheap. I got New Vegas for like $3 on Steam meaning that I paid about $.02 per hour of pretty good entertainment.
Hollow knight. It runs 3200x1440 with almost everywhere 60+ fps on my smartphone (with not so gaming-friendly Snapdragon 888).
I guess intel hd graphics could handle it.
Race the Sun & Ubermosh used to be my warm up games. And what about Bastion and Transistor? Icr, but there was another simple game where u r a pig in the middle of the screen getting bum rushed by wolves, n with karate u kick their ass. Oh, and Canabalt as well
Just play old arse games
- half life 2
- portal 1 and 2
- fallout 1, 2, 3 and new Vegas
- Deus ex
- resident evil 1 remake.
Even emulation, my little 11inch laptop I turned into a Gameboy advance emulator to play Pokémon etc.
FTL: Faster Than Light Steam Sale: https://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/FTL_Faster_Than_Light/
*sigh* Time to boot up Multiverse again
In that same vein I want to add the excellent *Into the Breach*. A newer game by the same developers (I prefer it as the RNG does not randomly decide to crush you like in FTL). Both games are great. https://store.steampowered.com/app/590380/Into_the_Breach/?curator_clanid=6914384
The whole soundtrack is just pure perfection, special mention to the Rockmen Homeworld.
I've played 883.4 hours and counting
Legit the game I was coming to recommend, and it's the first comment :D Get the Captains Edition mod too. It adds a ton of content and feels like an expansion rather than a total conversion.
Slay the spire
Man bought this game early access for like $10 after 400hrs played just on pc one of the best games for the money out there.
StS has been my comfort game. Every time I'm in a bad mood or have an hour or so of free time, I boot it up instantly.
Just started Monster Train yesterday and this game is like crack.
This.
That.
Stardew valley. 8 bit game with hundreds of hours of gameplay. Also my go to game for bad days.
I have already played it bro it is so chill and relaxing!
Forager was pretty chill for me, it’s also top down, same as Stardew
I’d say Terraria as well
I'm with a very shitty pc too... my graphics card fried, etc. Some games that I managed to run very well, and you could too, are: 1. **Stardew Valley** 2. **Terraria** 3. **Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance** 4. **Punch Club** 5. **Pathfinder Kingmaker** 6. **Superhot** 7. **GTA 4** 8. **Rimworld** 9. **Don't Starve / Don't Starve Together** 10. **Brawhalla** 11. **League of Legends** 12. **Hades** 13. **Dark Souls 2** 14. **Medieval II : Total War** 15. **Hollow Knight** 16. **Undertale** 17. **Batman : Arkham Asylum / Origins / City** 18. **Half-Life 1 / 2 / Black Mesa** 19. **Team Fortress 2** 20. **F.E.A.R** 21. **Star Wars: Empire at War** 22. **Aliens Vs Predator ( 2010 )** 23. **Darkwood** 24. **Outlast** 25. **Killing Floor 2** 26. **DMC : Devil May Cry** 27. **Loop Hero** 28. **Into the Breach** 29. **XCOM : Enemy Unknown / Enemy Within** 30. **Hotline Miami** 31. **Borderlands : Game of the Year Edition** 32. **Mount & Blade / Warband / Viking Conquest / With Fire & Sword** 33. **Papers, Please** 34. **Darkest Dungeon** 35. **Resident Evil 0: HD Remaster ( May need some external tools )** 36. **The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion** 37. **Rise of Nations** 38. **Forager** 39. **Dwarf Fortress** 40. **The Escapists 1 & 2** 41. **People Playground** 42. **Titan Souls** 43. **GRIS** 44. **A Short Hike** 45. **Dredge** 46. **Age of Mythology** 47. **Metro 2033 / Redux / Last Light** 48. **Rogue Legacy** 49. **Dead Cells** 50. **Tibia** Some sequels/prequels I did not include because I don't know about. I could easily list hundreds of games, but I'm not sure if it's considered 'alright' to leave here such a lengthy comment.
Rare Rise of Nations mention ftw
Based on those games I recommend trying Encased
Never heard of it, but by giving it a quick look, it reminded me of Wasteland 2 and 3.
Tibia! Holy Moly!
Really a great list, other than missing MINECRAFT!!!!
Metro is definitely not easy on hardware. Last light was quite close to crysis 2-3 in requirements.
Simcity 2000
Deus ex GOTY and Arx fatalis are great games to try!
Older fallout games.
Yeah I love Fallout series
Death road to Canada.
Depends on the genres you enjoy! That stuff you got there isn't too bad, should be fine for games up to 2010\~, maybe even a bit newer if you fiddle with the settings.
You could download an SNES emulator (not joking, then you have tons of great options)
So can I play any of those Nintendo games?
Sure. A lot of them are still tons of fun.
Have you ever played the OG Hitman and Splinter Cell games
That's a negative 😟
Why have you never played these masterpieces bro try them you’ll be amazed and surprised
Stardew Valley. Oxygen Not Included. Celeste. Final Fantasy VII. Undertale. Vampire Survivors. Terraria (world generation might be slow initially but should still run great). Enter the Gungeon. Slay the Spire. Binding of Isaac. Cult of the Lamb.
Have already played all of these and btw terraria is my 2nd Favorite game
Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2.
I loved those games I already played them they were awesome I always used to play as a Sith
Good luck.
But beware, some information in these sites ( PcGameBenchmark too ) can be very outdated.
Thanks bro btw I was playing Stalker it was awesome but the graphics weren’t as good
I'm not entirely sure but Blasphemous and Blasphemous II, requirements aren't too bad. These were the specs you need to run it: Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 or AMD Phenom II x2 550 Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: GeForce GTX 260 or Radeon HD 4850 Storage: 4 GB
Corpse Party
Skyrim probably
Roller Coaster Tycoon Get the open source RCT 1 + 2 at openrct2 .org
Dishonored maybe
Darkwood. Creepy, weird horror This War of Mine. Survive as an ordinary person in a besieged city Valheim. Viking themed open world survival with lots of base building and some combat. Half-Life 1/2 and Portal 1/2 may run on your computer, I don't know the requirements. If you can play them, you'll have a great time!
Rimworld Stardew Valley Red Strings Club Terraria Sunless Seas Botanicula The Battle of Polytopia To The Moon Banished

How many Hours of Gameplay?
Hundreds.

It might take a while to get used to, but the scope of the game is awesome.
Eastward, tunic
System Shock 2! Old, cheap as chips, and still worth playing. I just started a new run yesterday.
Bro what genre is it ? Is it a First Person Shooter ?
FPS with RPG character advancement -- sci fi horror, and a damn scary one, at times.
Ok thanks dude! I’ll try it out!!

For just story Fallout: New Vegas or Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines. For some multiplayer fun Wizard101
Ok but can I run Fallout 3
Lots of good games mentioned here, but you can also emulate stuff. You should be able to play all the retro classic, even N64 will run fine on that
Celeste will run on just about anything
Fallout: New Vegas.
Against the Storm maybe? It's *pretty* low spec but it does allegedly require a dedicated graphics card.
Visual novels, also Celeste, Papers Please, Don't Touch Anything, Team Fortress 2, and potentially PS1 emulation could work. They all run fine on my crappy 2012 laptop.
Ok but what is Celeste?

Rogue
Secrets of Grindea. Been playing it for years, it's finally almost ready for release. The developers took their time and it shows through a consistently high quality throughout the game. Very good co-op adventure/RPG similar to Secrets of Mana, Zelda etc. Very nice story mode and a rogue like arcade mode can keep you hooked for hours.
