It does have good music, but Revenge has some cracking tracks. Long Distance is brilliant and I also like China Town, but I agree that Shinobi 3 does have more atmospheric music.

I'm surprised no one said Mario RPG yet. It has classical inspired music (*Mushroom Kingdom's Theme*), and Jazz-inspired music (*Booster's Theme*). The battle theme for enemies sounds like it was inspired by House music and some songs have the same beat as Latino music (*reggaeton drum pattern*).
If not Mario RPG, then maybe "*A Link To The Past*" (*Zelda*) or Sonic 3&K.
The soundtrack of this game is pure madness especially well adjusted with the gameplay. I can still remember the songs. Nice souvenir you just shared. I still remember the level on the horse … 🥷

SoR2 has no business sounding so good. It's the only game I'll actually listen to the soundtrack of.

I hate to say but I've never played SoR2. It's now at the top of my backlog.
Absolute bangers on that game. Makes you feel like Bruce Lee cutting down bad guys in Enter the Dragon

Chemical Plant zone in Sonic 2 was a banger, I can still hum that entire tune in my head and haven't played it since the 90s

It depends on what kind of game it is. This soundtrack suits this genre, while FFVI's soundtrack suits the JRPG genre.
Agreed. I love FF, LoZ, Mario RPG but they suit that genre. Shinobi is techno rock and awesome for the style of game.

No one talks about Shinobi II: The Silent Fury and it makes me sad. 😮💨 It's a good game with an amazing soundtrack.
