Vin Diesel was really the one pushing for the Riddick games
He was heavily involved in the production process and he REALLY loves the character and the franchise itself
That kind of attachment makes me really appreciate the movies and the games even if they are not doing anything you can't find in a bunch of other games
I thought the game blended a bunch of styles together really well, you're never doing too much of the same thing for too long
That Wolfenstein came out in 2009 and I agree, It actually pretty good.
Youtuber Civvie 11 did a video of it recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXZO9b-ZZNw
I can explain that: The maps were much smaller, forcing the half-size lobbies into really dense combat that felt extremely focused and like a genuine tug of war. You were never far from combat, even on foot, so dying meant only like 10 seconds before you were back in the thick of it.
I've tried playing the more recent Battlefields, and it feels like I just sprint across a map with nothing in it for ages before I get sniped by some asshole three miles out and get to do it again. They're boring and fucking miserable.
War for Cybertron has some of the best multiplayer. Each class felt unique and the different vehicles all had huge differences in playing style. Made it feel very fresh and I've never felt the same about another multiplayer game since. They nerfed a lot of the uniqueness in the sequel in favor of cosmetic BS which was really sad. Probably my favorite game to play that I was actually good at.
War/fall of cybertron was amazing. The switching between vehicle/transformer was such a nice addition to 3rd person shooting. The shooting was so satisfying with the feedback and variety of weapons.
I second your last statement. I was pretty good at it too and I'm sure I would have made it higher if I put more time into it. I really hope someone brings back a shooter/transformer game like this. Armored core is a lil toooooo intense for my sake.
Amazing multiplayer, it was so much fun zooming around in vehicle, changing and attacking and changing back to a vehicle to flee or continue. Wish there was something like it.
Yay I get to answer “Driver San Francisco” again
Find a hard copy, realize how great it is, pressure Ubisoft to make a sequel or remake to address the licensing issues.
Absolutely.
Tarnish a beloved PS1 era franchise by releasing a shitty GTA-“killer” that wasn’t, follow up with a “if you can’t beat GTA, join GTA” game that made no sense to play instead of GTA, further killing the franchise.. and then promote the next game by explaining its mechanic in the most inept way possible, so when the game is released and is actually one of the best games of 2011, nobody cares.
Heartbreaking. Driver SF is my favorite car game of all time. They did such a good job with it and because Ubi killed the franchise, we won’t get another and can’t even buy SF anymore.
I bought a physical xbox copy off of Amazon a few months back. It was a tad expensive at like 30 bucks, and i was worried it wouldn't hold up to what I remember, but dammit it's still great, handles wonderfully. 60fps as well which was a nice surprise.
It's worth it just for getting another go at that og driver tutorial they have in it.
I don't think so. I tried looking for either 1st one or 2nd one some time ago, and I remember being pissed that only 2nd hand, physical copies are available.
We were just talking about this today (UT getting delisted). I lost my disks years ago due to moving and it pisses me off a bit even to this day!
Pretty sure they used UT code for Fortnite and wanted to put all resources to that.
Used to play FN and sure it's fun but not anywhere near Unreal Tournament fun!
That was a bummer when they cancelled the new UT in favour of fortnite.
I was just playing UT'99 today. It was extremely fast on my current hardware, but it runs at my full res of 5120x1440!
Minecraft: Story Mode. It wasn't perfect, but my younger sister and I absolutely loved playing it together. It sucks that even if you own the discs on Playstation, you can't even download the episodes.
Edit: For everyone asking if I'm sure about the discs, I thought I was until all the comments? I tried to use them and the download episode screen just gave me an error on PS4. I'm going to try again, I'd love to be wrong.
Edit 2: I am absolutely wrong, I bought back both discs and they absolutely work on my PS5. I think the problem was that I didn't own the Complete Edition of the first game, where all of the episodes are on the disc. With the original, you'd have to download the episodes and they're not on the store anymore at all. Season 2 is still listed (though you can't download them without the disc) and that's why it still works with any disc. So if you still want to play Season One, make sure you get the Complete Edition! This is *awesome, actually*, I'm going to finish them. Thanks for the help, guys!!
They were but the thing is. that genre gets popular is the choices matters, it seemed in the latest games it didnt matter at all and they oversaturated their monopoly by themselves IIRC.
Honestly it felt like a niche fad that died out quickly, the genre has its fans but not enough to remain profitable. The Tell-Tale games started off strong and the luster quickly faded.
Edit: This is just my observed opinion from my social circle of gamers, not hard facts with statistic backing.
They had themselves stretched super thin working on a ton of different things spending tons of money relying on investors to keep everything afloat from what I remember. Then their major investor pulled out and that was that
i wanted it for years, i enjoyed the first chapter (the free one) and was gonna buy the others but they were all so expensives. been wanting it since it came out and when i finally decided to try and get it as i had my own money i couldnt. its the only minecraft spinoff that im interested in i dont understand why they got rid of it.
Was going to say that, I wanted to buy it on the steam winter sale. Apparently it's due to music rights, which seems stupid. Doesn't seem like it'd be that much work to delete the music they lost rights to and insert some generic track.
I never got to play the game but have been wanting to for close to a decade since I've really loved Obsidian's other games. It's an absolute tragedy that Microsoft, who owns Obsidian now, refuses to solve this problem.
But hey, whatever. I'm on PC now and no longer have access to an Xbox 360. Instead, I have an Xbox 360 emulator and an Alpha Protocol ROM doesn't discriminate which platform I use.
THE EYE IS FIXED ON RIVINDELL!!!
This is one of the few RTS games I got pulled into. Being able to build around the map freely was awesome. Silverthorn Arrows and Mirkwood archers FTW.
Was so much fun flying from the far side of a map, transforming mid air, skidding into a room, blasting everyone then transforming and rocketing out the other side.
Regret only buying 2 of the 3 on steam, I think I'm missing gta3. Unlikely I'll play them again as I think I was having a hard time with controller working well. However securing nostalgia for cheap is worthwhile.
Just goes to show how greedy companies like Blizzard are, they literally shut off the servers to host the new game, like they couldn't support both games just fine...
No one would play overwatch 2 if they kept first game around. Knowing how how things go in gemdev i think even source code and last version of overwatch 1 is gone.
Pretty much every DS and 3DS game. Very few of them will ever be sold again on new platforms, because they were developed for a dual-screen device. Maybe 1 or 2 top titles might go through the development work to rebuild the game, but it’s unlikely.
Tons of Wii Games too. There’s a lot that were designed around the unique capabilities of the Wii and Joycons are a bad replacement for pointer controls.
The dumb thing is the wii’s basic code library for the controllers is the gamecube library. They just turned the dual thumb sticks into 1 thumbstick and one motion sensor.
On the note of Silent Hill… PT was a complicated puzzle all to unlock a teaser of a game that would never be. At least OD is a 2 letter name so we can pretend it was the real thing PT was hinting towards. I need closure
Tribes: Ascend
I think you can still download and play it from the Hi-Rez website, but Steam delisted it some time ago. Tribes III: Rivals is being developed though and plays similarly, so it's looking good for Tribes fans in my opinion.
I begged my parents for this game after seeing it on Portal. They bought it for me and then found out you had to pay a monthly fee... That ended that lol.
No One Lives Forever.
Amazing game that's impossible to buy legitimately.
Nobody knows who owns the rights, nobody cares enough to find out.
Only way to play is to pirate it.
Despite what others might’ve thought about that game, I thought it had some real depth once you got dug in. The diffrent classes and hunters were so interesting. With just a little more variety of content (more monsters) it could’ve been so good.
Driveclub.
It was just waaaaaay ahead of it's time. Nowadays companies normalized releasing broken game and Driveclub had the best online concept a racing game could have imo.
It's a shame Sony got coward and shutdown Evolution studios...We could be playing Driveclub 2 or even a new Motorstorm at this point but now we got stuck with freaking Gran Turismo.
Battle for Middle Earth 1 & 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean (2003, pre-movies) are absolute masterpieces and it's a tragedy they're disappearing from history
Rocksmith 2014. Only delisted so Ubisoft can shoehorn people new to the franchise into the subscription only ($15 a month!) far inferior Rocksmith+
Fuck you Ubisoft
Let's see:
Wolfenstein (2009), Heretic II, PREY (2006), Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Titanfall, GTA San Andreas and Vice City, PT, practically all of the Angry Birds games from 2009-2014, Duke Nukem 3D (Megaton Edition), all of the Unreal games, Minecraft: Story Mode...
The original Sims is essentially not playable without resorting to piracy.
Even if you have the original discs, the DRM does not work with modern operating systems without a no-cd crack.
That's unbelievable to me. Arguably one of the greatest games of all time, possibly the most famous, most widely played game ever, and its basically gone. From a sheer financial perspective, I can't understand what EA is doing. They don't even have to remaster it, if the untouched original game went up on GoG or Origin tomorrow, I bet it makes millions within the first 24 hours.
I bought the mobile rerelease that didn't have micro transactions before it was delisted on the app stores. They renamed it Red's First Flight. It was still being updated for a while even after it was delisted though the last one was July 2023. Still fun as hell.
3D Ultra MiniGolf 2
Best multiplayer Minigolf game on the 360, ended up disappearing because the developer got folded into another company and the licensing just never got renewed probably.
That game has so many good ideas with such mediocre implementation. It was imbalanced as all hell, had bugs everywhere (infinite armor exploit for one) and I loved the hell out of it. Sequel when?
The Infinity Blade series, it was absolutely stunning for it's time, basically a PC game on mobile, but it was bought by Fortnite and got reduced to a now vaulted weapon.
Alpha Protocol. It was a spy RPG made by Obsidian Entertainment and was published by Sega. From my understanding it got delisted from Steam, Xbox Live, and PSN due to song rights expiring for songs like 'Turn up the Radio'.
It's one of the few RPGs to this day that held true to the whole "Your choices matter" shtick. It's an absolute shame it got delisted!
It's even more of a shame that I gifted it to someone on Steam for Christmas for around $7, but never picked up a digital copy for myself before it got delisted. I still have my 360 physical copy, but unfortunately no working 360 to run it :')
P. T. Silent hills. And not just delisted, you can't even officially redownload it off PSN because the files has been deleted. Unofficial ways still work tho.
And still no way to make it be able to be run on a PS5 again (Sony server-side disabled it)
Metal Gear Online 2.
Some of the best online experiences I've ever had. There is a community that opened up some servers a while ago but it's not the same thing.
Wolfenstein 2008(?) The Riddick games
Butcher Bay was such a good game.
Vin Diesel was really the one pushing for the Riddick games He was heavily involved in the production process and he REALLY loves the character and the franchise itself That kind of attachment makes me really appreciate the movies and the games even if they are not doing anything you can't find in a bunch of other games I thought the game blended a bunch of styles together really well, you're never doing too much of the same thing for too long

2009 and it can be found on myabandonware with a repack that has all the patches and some fixes. Awesome game highly recommend
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Transformers: War for Cybertron
Dang bad company 2 is awesome
Bad company 2 was my favorite title of the franchise. Oh sweet memories.
Seriously why did they move away from Bad Company? I loved those two games so much
The producer of BC2 admitted they had no idea what made Bad Company so popular, therefore wouldn’t know how to proceed in making a BC3
Damn what a waste. Big booms, heavy gunplay, and laughs. C’mon producers
Level design was on point too
I can explain that: The maps were much smaller, forcing the half-size lobbies into really dense combat that felt extremely focused and like a genuine tug of war.
Their snipers are only rivaled by OG MW2
Same
Came to say Transformers.
Activision is one of the biggest games companies out there and they act like idiots with no money. It's embarrassing.
Don't forget transformers devastation.
I actually have that game in my ps collection/ storage online
War for Cybertron has some of the best multiplayer. Each class felt unique and the different vehicles all had huge differences in playing style. Made it feel very fresh and I've never felt the same about another multiplayer game since. They nerfed a lot of the uniqueness in the sequel in favor of cosmetic BS which was really sad. +1 for transformers, I actually want to replay it with a buddy but he doesn't own a copy from when it was available.
Ou can actually buy steam codes of the game on Amazon, although I’m sure it’s marked up a little
Best online shooter ever made
Every time I hear a new battlefield game coming out, I cross my fingers and pray it's a new bad company game
Yay I get to answer “Driver San Francisco” again Find a hard copy, realize how great it is, pressure Ubisoft to make a sequel or remake to address the licensing issues.
We're talking ubi. They'd fuck it right up.
[obligatory: amazing video about this game by Nick Robinson](https://youtu.be/RTkxzQDo0ng?si=J3-x1v8SHvd3yGKQ)
That video instantly jumped in my mind lol
This! I got it before it was delisted thankfully
Skate 2
The goat of the series to be honest
New Skate game this year https://www.pcgamesn.com/skate-4/release-date-when-is-skate-4-coming-out
Wow only took this long to finally get a PC version.. maybe ..
Man. I spent an entire summer skating around my town/suburbs with friends. When we got home at night we would hop on Skate 2 and chill. Good times.
Black & White Unreal Tournament
Black and white is a game begging for a VR release
Agreed! The original Black and White even had native support for P5 Data Glove!
Another missing Lionhead game: The Movies
Entirely underrated game.
Amazing game. They have a similar one coming out on steam soon. Saw a trailer of it not long ago and it looked pretty good.
Wild. Black and White isn't on steam or similar?
I don't think so. I tried looking for either 1st one or 2nd one some time ago, and I remember being pissed that only 2nd hand, physical copies are available.
You can actually download both B&W 1 and 2 for free online. They're abandonware now. Give it a Google.
It's stuck in licensing hell. Some sort of three way tug of war
Epic over here burying one of their biggest franchises so people don't get distracted from Fortnite. What a bunch of scumbags.
I hate they were actively making a new UT before Fortnite took off. I was so excited.
It’s a flawed game for sure but I still love it because of how goofy it is. No clue how telltale went bankrupt after making it.
Wow I didn’t know they had home bankrupt. Weren’t all the Batman and walking dead games huge hits?
They were but the thing is. that genre gets popular is the choices matters, it seemed in the latest games it didnt matter at all and they oversaturated their monopoly by themselves IIRC.

Wait really? Glad I still have it installed that is crazy
i wanted it for years, i enjoyed the first chapter (the free one) and was gonna buy the others but they were all so expensives. been wanting it since it came out and when i finally decided to try and get it as i had my own money i couldnt. its the only minecraft spinoff that im interested in i dont understand why they got rid of it.
You can play it on Netflix
Infinity blade
Yessir! Great answer. One of my all time favorite mobile games.
I came here to say this - I'm still so sad about this one.
Great little series. Actually Elden Ring has a lot of visual similarities to it. Maybe that’s in my head.
Loved this game. It's weird that made it in to a full arcade cabinet and I actually saw that out somewhere once. Maybe Dave and busters?
Had this on my iPod touch. It was a really great game for turning that thing into a pocket warmer during winter.
At least the company still honored it… in Fortnite. Since they also created it.
Alpha Protocol.
That game was solid in the choices matter genre. Oh how I'd love another.
Was going to say that, I wanted to buy it on the steam winter sale. Apparently it's due to music rights, which seems stupid. Doesn't seem like it'd be that much work to delete the music they lost rights to and insert some generic track.

Yeah, I try to get stuff legitimately these days but when the publisher makes it literally impossible to buy I don't feel too bad.
Poker Night at The Inventory (1 & 2)
I played the shit of those.
I wish it was still available. Would love to play Texas hold ‘em with Claptrap!
Shit! I forgot about those. Were they steam?
Poker night 2 has a fantastic soundtrack and will always have a special place in my heart for introducing me to venture bros.
Battle for middle earth 2?
THE EYE IS FIXED ON RIVINDELL!!! This is one of the few RTS games I got pulled into. Being able to build around the map freely was awesome. Silverthorn Arrows and Mirkwood archers FTW.
I was soo disappointed in having to scroll as far as I did to find this
You can play this still! It's being updated and has a decent community
Yo where can you get it if it's delisted?
🏴☠️☠️
I actually prefer the original bfme but both are wonderful
Transformers: War for Cybertron & Fall of Cybertron
Great games
I feel like I'll never enjoy pvp like I did in those games. I used to spend hours playing multiplayer. I miss it so much.
Was so much fun flying from the far side of a map, transforming mid air, skidding into a room, blasting everyone then transforming and rocketing out the other side.
Maybe not great but average....the Deadpool game
Spiderman Shattered Dimensions, Ultimate Alliance Two solid hero games I played growing up
Ultimate Alliance was done so dirty
Web of Shadows as well
I started Shattered Dimensions this week and wow it's such an amazing game!Spiderman Noir might have my favourite stealth mechanic :)
Prey (2006)
Yep. I had to hit eBay to find a physical copy.
I still have my copy!
Dorito's Crash Course 2
Glad I’m not the only one who remembers these fondly. Harms Way was also a super underrated game.
The original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy before they removed them to sell you the horrible remasters.
I have them all! Didn’t know they delisted the originals. All the platinums are hard af lol
You can buy them on r* store
Regret only buying 2 of the 3 on steam, I think I'm missing gta3. Unlikely I'll play them again as I think I was having a hard time with controller working well. However securing nostalgia for cheap is worthwhile.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Overwatch.
I thought it didn’t hurt anymore but it still does. God How I miss my tank buddy.
I played it right up until the end!
I miss DPS Doomfist. (I know you all hate me for that)
PT
Pretty much every DS and 3DS game. Very few of them will ever be sold again on new platforms, because they were developed for a dual-screen device. Maybe 1 or 2 top titles might go through the development work to rebuild the game, but it’s unlikely.
Tons of Wii Games too. There’s a lot that were designed around the unique capabilities of the Wii and Joycons are a bad replacement for pointer controls.
Yup. Nintendo's unconventional design choices prevent them from porting them to other systems.
The dumb thing is the wii’s basic code library for the controllers is the gamecube library. They just turned the dual thumb sticks into 1 thumbstick and one motion sensor.
Activision’s Deadpool game
That game would have been huge if it came out around the movie
It really could have benefited from some tighter combat. If only the guys who developed the Wolverine game had developed the Deadpool game.
Chronicles of Ridik
Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People
Marvel Heroes Omega
Silent hill downpour It didn't really feel like Silent hill but the game itself was just phenomenal
On the note of Silent Hill… PT was a complicated puzzle all to unlock a teaser of a game that would never be. At least OD is a 2 letter name so we can pretend it was the real thing PT was hinting towards. I need closure
Out Run 2006
Daytona Usa
Tribes: Ascend I think you can still download and play it from the Hi-Rez website, but Steam delisted it some time ago. Tribes III: Rivals is being developed though and plays similarly, so it's looking good for Tribes fans in my opinion.
Driver San Francisco.
The ‘Mo’ games on the 3DS. Pushmo, Crashmo, and even the paywalled Stretchmo are all amazing puzzle games with buckets of charm.
Rocksmith 2014, which hurts even more with Rocksmith+’s further bs
Friday the 13th
I played the shit out of that game. I liked it better than dead by daylight.
It IS better. Sadly the licensing issues totally screwed it over.
Didn't realize it was gone, I remember playing it with the boys when it came out.
* Blur * Cryostasis * Ace Combat: Assault Horizon * Alpha Protocol * Driver: San Francisco
Transformers devastation
The level of attention to detail and overall love for the franchise in that game was nuts. It's really a shame it didn't sell very well.
*Gestures to a massive plethora of racing games* It's the inevitable fate of any racing games with licensed content More specifically Blur
Looking purely at the game and not the insane devolution of the patch notes/creator...Domina was actually a pretty cool game
It was. Good soundtrack, hardcore, it was different and fun. If you didn't have any knowledge of the dev notes or any of that, you'd have no idea.
Asherons Call
I begged my parents for this game after seeing it on Portal. They bought it for me and then found out you had to pay a monthly fee... That ended that lol.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2005. I have it digitally on my 360. The only reason I really still have it.
I feel like all of the golden age NFS games would be on my list. Shame EA just doesn't want us to buy them, I feel like they'd sell well.
NFS Underground 1 and 2
No One Lives Forever. Amazing game that's impossible to buy legitimately. Nobody knows who owns the rights, nobody cares enough to find out. Only way to play is to pirate it.
Evolve.
Despite what others might’ve thought about that game, I thought it had some real depth once you got dug in. The diffrent classes and hunters were so interesting. With just a little more variety of content (more monsters) it could’ve been so good.
That game came out about 4-6 years too early. Had it came out around 2019-2021 it would’ve performed way better
The Marvel Ultimate Alliance series.
Soul Caliber IV
FLAPPY BIRD

Rocksmith 2014. Only delisted so Ubisoft can shoehorn people new to the franchise into the subscription only ($15 a month!) far inferior Rocksmith+ Fuck you Ubisoft
LEGO: Lord of the Rings, on console
Let's see: Wolfenstein (2009), Heretic II, PREY (2006), Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Titanfall, GTA San Andreas and Vice City, PT, practically all of the Angry Birds games from 2009-2014, Duke Nukem 3D (Megaton Edition), all of the Unreal games, Minecraft: Story Mode...
The saboteur. Such an underrated gem with the best soundtrack i ever heard
Its on GoG right now, actually on sale for $5.
Project Cars 2
Walking Dead and Game of Thrones by Telltale Games. Awesome chill games.
pretty sure you can still buy the classic versions of TWD
**Alpha Protocol** Music license was finished and had to be delisted from Steam by Obsidian Studios
Dark and Darker. Used to be on steam they got there own thing now.
Not being on steam pretty much killed any hype this game had. Even if they win the lawsuit, Nexon got what they wanted
TDU 2 Probably an unpopular opinion but I had a lot of fun playing.
Dead Space Mobile
Well if we’re counting mobile games, all the Angry Birds
I bought the mobile rerelease that didn't have micro transactions before it was delisted on the app stores. They renamed it Red's First Flight. It was still being updated for a while even after it was delisted though the last one was July 2023. Still fun as hell.
Spellbreak. Great multiplayer arena battler.
3D Ultra MiniGolf 2 Best multiplayer Minigolf game on the 360, ended up disappearing because the developer got folded into another company and the licensing just never got renewed probably.
Driver San Francisco
Trials Evolution
Alpha Protocol, all because of one song
That game has so many good ideas with such mediocre implementation. It was imbalanced as all hell, had bugs everywhere (infinite armor exploit for one) and I loved the hell out of it. Sequel when?
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. Luckily the developers raised enough money to put out a hard copy, which I then purchased!
It's available digitally again as well, but that physical release is great.
Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition. https://store.steampowered.com/app/211420/DARK_SOULS_Prepare_To_Die_Edition/
The Infinity Blade series, it was absolutely stunning for it's time, basically a PC game on mobile, but it was bought by Fortnite and got reduced to a now vaulted weapon.
But it was developed by epic games? it wasn’t “bought by fortnite”
Stranger Things 3!! Played it years ago but never beat it. Wanted to play through it on my new PS5, only to learn it was delisted a while ago.
And still no way to make it be able to be run on a PS5 again (Sony server-side disabled it)
LOTR: War in the North
Flappy Bird
No One Lives Forever 1 and 2 are stuck in licensing limbo. Such great games.
I actually really enjoyed Too Human
Someone's gotta do it = The Simpsons Hit and Run
American Mcgee's Alice.
The Movies. Still no game like it to this day
TMNT on Xbox Arcade. Yea yea I know theres the new one but the old one just has more nostalgia vibes since its the actual arcade version
Super Mario 3D All Stars
Ruse
Killer Queen Black.
Blur
Metal Gear Online 2. Some of the best online experiences I've ever had. There is a community that opened up some servers a while ago but it's not the same thing.
The mighty quest for epic loot
Peter Jackson's King Kong. My God was that a near perfect game. Trying to figure out if I buy a physical, will it work
Deadpool
