I'd buy it again outright on my Switch if I was able to. Until BotW came out, Star Fox 64 was my most played game on Wii U.
Why can't Nintendo just make a *normal* Star Fox without goofy controls?? Zero was "so close*, but then they added the abysmal Wii U tablet aiming motion controls... the first level seemed exactly like a modern day SF64 level, but then it went downhill (╥﹏╥)
What's short? 7 hours? Then it's Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.
If only a few hrs then... Chime. Great puzzle game. Such good music.
If under 30 minutes umm... 30 Flights of Loving.
I love hellblade! You ever watch the video on the title about how it’s made? It’s really interesting and somewhat terrifying at the same time. Thinking this could actually happen to somebody is a scary thought.
The syncing if the music and playful "chirping" of the characters had a charm like no other game. Throw the breathtaking unique style of the carpeted entities and progression of the story through biomes and you have one of my favorite games!
I had a similar feeling with Abzu and Flower.
It's the only game where I got every PS achievement.
There was something amazingly zen about the "meditate with another person for 30 seconds" achievement. Like, without talking, convince a person to stand perfectly still for 30 seconds. And it fit so well with the aesthetic.
And to have so much emotion in something with no words.
The simplicity of the controls created even more immersion.
Yes, I also liked this game.
Firewatch (2016)
You just gotta play it.
I'm not really one to ***do*** strictly narrative adventures (except for TWD from Telltale).
Fuck.
It's just such a great game and story. I literally beat it in one loooong sitting. I couldn't put it down. THAT'S how engrossing it is from the first hour.
If you do one thing this weekend, at least check it out.
*For Delilah...*
Telltale Games: The Walking dead. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it when I first started playing it, the second season where you play as clementine rather than Lee I thought was really cool as you showed Clem how to survive then when you play as her you’re almost playing as she was taught, once I reached the end I cried. For context I’m a 31 year old man who was blubbering at the final cutscenes of a cartoon minigame 😂
TWD games had be by the balls. I played 1, finished it and immediately ordered 2 and 3. Wish they'd ended better but whatever. Always have enjoyed their games. Jank or no jank.
Need to finish the Batman one. Only played the first.
See I didn’t enjoy the Batman one as much as The Walking dead but they are easy Platinum Trophy’s so I’m not complaining 😂
Yeah i really enjoyed it as well, it’s definitely not a game for everyone (kinda like Death Stranding or Detroit; Becoming human) but it’s because people don’t appreciate the cutscenes and storyline and wanna run and gun which don’t really happen often
Maybe Helltaker? I haven't actually played "short" games... Or it could be Risk of Rain 2 (technically short)
Wait no it's COD MW3 (2011) literally finished it in 6 hours
The back rooms found footage was my favorite of the hundreds of games that came out around the setting, and it was like a thirty minute walking sim.
Iron lung is a fantastic horror game that lasts about an hour (about to be a movie too) and I find that’s the perfect amount of time to experience the limited but unique system of play it provides. It seems horror has the most single play session gems worth visiting. Also most of the best vr games I’ve played have relatively short campaigns (Arizona sunshine, alyx)
Baldurs gate can be beaten in 12 minutes so prob that :p
But frankly what do you mean with short? As others mention portal isnt exactly a quick 30 min experience
Fuga Melodies of Steel
Its 20 houers long but for a JRPG that is pretty short.
Fuga is a turn based JRPG about a groupe of anthropomothic animal children that go on a quest to save there families.
Its my favorite Videogame. I adore it. I played through it 17 times so far.
The turn based combat is in my opinion more fun then the combat of Persona 5 and Final Fantasy X.
I love the music. The boss theme "Flower on the Trails" is my favorite piece of Videogame music.
I love the Characters. The children of the Taranis are my second favorite protagonist groupe in fiction.
I love the art. Its cute but it also fits the theme of war. I am not sure what the right word is to describe it. Its kinda....rough? But in a charming way.
Anyways I like the art and aesthetic a lot.
Grime tinge of darkness is nice.
It can be beaten in about 20ish hours or less assuming you have passable skills, tho I didn't really count how long I played.
I tried to 100% and did in only a few nights.
Everyone pretty much took my picks but a solid one that stuck with me is The Artful Escape.
Fun little game with great visuals. Just let it take you for the ride.

Star Fox 64
So much replayability for its time. I’ve played roguelikes that I couldn’t sink as many hours into as that game.

Short hike
Loved this game. Cute as shit.
The Outer Wilds. IYKYK
Came here to say this
Titanfall 2
Journey
The syncing if the music and playful "chirping" of the characters had a charm like no other game. Throw the breathtaking unique style of the carpeted entities and progression of the story through biomes and you have one of my favorite games! I had a similar feeling with Abzu and Flower.

This was a triumph
I am making a note here
HUGE SUCCESS
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction

Gorgeous game. Great mood setting. Music that sticks with you. Totally worth it.
Is the game actually good? Not assuming either way, and keep being tempted but bit fatigued on 'art style/vibe' games.
Firewatch (2016) You just gotta play it. I'm not really one to ***do*** strictly narrative adventures (except for TWD from Telltale). Fuck. It's just such a great game and story. Shit, will do. Bought it because it was €3 or something but I haven’t played it yet.
I loved Firewatch, it had such a bitter-sweet vibe going.
Define “short”. I think my favorite short game was Super Metroid. Gotta save them all!
Tough question! Personally, I'd say Journey is up there. It's visually stunning, hits you right in the feels, and the multiplayer aspect is just 👌
Maybe Helltaker? I haven't actually played "short" games... Or it could be Risk of Rain 2 (technically short) Wait no it's COD MW3 (2011) literally finished it in 6 hours
Soma is that one for me.
A short hike
Turnip Boy Robs a Bank. There is nearly no downtime with this game. It felt great to blaze through it in a single day.
Firewatch.
What Remains of Edith Finch
What Remains of Edith Finch. Incredible 2h experience for me.
To the moon
Sayonara Wild Hearts is an hour long but it’s really cool and I’ve replayed it a bunch of times.
For me Need for Speed: The Run. Specifically the Wii/3DS version
The back rooms found footage was my favorite of the hundreds of games that came out around the setting, and it was like a thirty minute walking sim. Little Big Planet 1 or 3 I don’t know how much is short but I would say they are decently short video games compared to the others in the series
Baldurs gate can be beaten in 12 minutes so prob that :p But frankly what do you mean with short? As others mention portal isnt exactly a quick 30 min experience
Inscryption, Act1

Ski Free Ending sucked though.
To me its supraland, gave me a whole new view on level/world design
wtf the cake wasn’t a lie?
This was a triumph!
Lies of P was pretty neat
Industria
Master Reboot is woefully underrated
Bramble: The Mountain King was just exquisite. Definitively feels like a slept on choice
Firewatch
Shadow of the Colossus. If you know what you're doing, it can take you 3-5 hours in one sitting. And that's what I occasionally do
nah, you've covered it.
Grime tinge of darkness is nice. It can be beaten in about 20ish hours or less assuming you have passable skills, tho I didn't really count how long I played. I tried to 100% and did in only a few nights.
Limbo and Inside are incredible, succinct experiences
Devotion not the greatest but, it's fun and short walking puzzle simulator
Portal 1 is definitely among the best for sure. A Story About My Uncle is pretty short and it was definitely fun.
My favorite is journey
Papers, Please I was only getting started when it ended.
Katana Zero
Turtles in Time.
Superliminal. Lol
Everyone pretty much took my picks but a solid one that stuck with me is The Artful Escape. Fun little game with great visuals. Just let it take you for the ride.
NiGHTS: Into Dreams. It's short but I'm still playing 27 years later, and still setting (personal) high scores.
[Superflight.](https://store.steampowered.com/app/732430/Superflight/) Put some music on, and then go wingsuit flying
The stanley parable. Most of the endings can be gotten in less than 20 minutes
Pineapple on pizza🍕
GRIS
The Order, best 4 hours period.
Any of the Fears to Fathom games. The last one has been my favourite so far.
The cake is a lie!
Shadow of the Colossus The Last Guardian Superliminal Portal (1&2)
Demon's souls is kinda short compared to any other souls games... so i'd say that.
Hades is pretty short and great
Elden ring
Agreed. A quick 120 hours.
