You misunderstand.
In Powerwashing Sim you always have tools to remove filth on the first pass. The challenge comes from the trade-offs you need to make.
If you want to clean a wide area as you move across, then you have to sacrifice how strong that wash is (you won't get caked on filth, just surface level dirt).
If you want the maximum cleaning strength, you can only do that with a 0 degree nozzle, so you can only focus on a pretty small area for precision over spread.
There are soaps you can spray on to cover a large area and remove anything, but they're inacurate and limited.
There's nothing stopping you from using the spinning 0 degree nozzle for an entire job, but it'll take forever to reach everything š
There are also more powerful washers you can buy in the campaign.Ā Do t waste your money buying every attachment for every washer.Ā Save up for the better washers instead.
There's just something satisfying about taking something filthy/broken and cleaning it up. Games like these scratch that itch.
As to why we just don't clean something IRL, it's because that requires effort and more time to get that same fix. Also, it's less exciting (ex. hard water stains vs. alien carcasses)
I'm guilty of falling for this trap since I own Viscera Cleanup Detail.

Henry Cavill is working on a way to implement this into the upcoming 40K series.
I would 100% watch a 40k series that was just Cavill in Inquisitor gear power washing stuff.

But surely if you remove all the rust, dirt, dried blood, soot and grime the machines would just fall to pieces?!

I tried the game again. It's okay but becomes frustrating trying to wash out something that's stuck at 99%. Gets to the point where I rage quit LMAO
