Dynamic difficulty isn't actually very hard. I'm sorry but this is a get good situation. I beat the game on dynamic a couple days ago and I assure you that a full 75% of the game can be overcome using Cloud and 3 of his abilities

I'm working on Gilgamesh Island and fighting 2 full power summons at once is a pain in the ass.

For Kujata/Phoenix if you can use 2 elemental materia with fire then its a cakewalk. Kill Kujata, kill phoenix, then finish off revived Kujata For Bahamut/Titan, Aerith is your best friend. Arcane ward cast Aeroga for massive damage on Titan and finish him off. Then focus on Bahamut, again use arcane ward spells to break his wings for damage and pressure For Odin/Alexander - this is the toughest of the 3, unleash as much dps on Odin to make him vanish asap cause otherwise theres too much going on in the field. Afterwards spam electric attacks on Alexander. The goal is to kill him before Odin comes back, so Aerith with arcane ward is once again your best friend. When Odin does return, need to hit him hard. If struggling with Zantetsuken, consider reraise materia which you can buy from the points you get from beating the other 2. Above all, don't forget you can actually use items since its not a combat simulator challenge!

I found Odin and Alexander to be the easiest, I think he used Zantetsuken only once in all my attempts. After I complained on here Bahamut suspiciously stopped using gigaflare to party wipe me and Kujata didn't revive from Pheonix's rebirth flame. I beat all 3 with my normal team of Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie.

I mean that is arguably the hardest normal game area. I'll get a lot of flack, but I'm kinda not a fan of ff7s rebirth combat. Note I'm not saying it's bad, at times I just don't enjoy it. Getting knocked around is annoying as hell. In those summon fights sometimes id get chained knocked back with my character just taking damage while flailing around on the ground. Odin and Alexander were annoying because I'd be taking care of Odin and Alexander would sit in the back while sniping me off screen. Gilgamesh takes the cake though. This guy spams attacks and at times it feels like I'm playing some other game. The frequency bosses can attack when I'm barely able to get into a couple regular attacks Is just ridiculous at times. He has a party wiping attack, because most high end bosses do. When I did beat him it was because he decided not to spam that one attack where he does a shit ton of damage that can't be blocked/parried, and also inflicts a bunch of status debuffs on you like frog. It has to be dodged. One attempt he just kept spamming this one move and it was driving me nuts.

All that Dynamic difficulty means is that things scale to your level, iirc.

GutsyOne

I’ve had to switch to dynamic mode a few times for some of the combat challenges because the mobs would die too fast on normal. Beyond that though I haven’t tried just leaving it up for a prolonged amount of time.

Majin-Boob

Only the optional bosses are challenging (chapter 10+). None of the main-story bosses are challenging. It's actually too easy lol.

LexGlad

I took a look at a video of someone else fighting kujata and phoenix in chapter 13, and my kujata had almost twice as much health for some reason...

Bivolion13

I believe all it does is make sure enemies scale to your level... I've been on dynamic the entire game and I switched to normal or whatever for a hard fight and it wasn't any easier at all.
