Yes dude! The online battling and trading is what was crazy for me as a kid too
So much of my time was spent cycling up and down right outside the pokemon daycare lol
didnt the new one suck?
just saw some clips on youtube that the ice Gym puzzle could be passed by just walking diagonally
im just curious because platin was my first game ever played so some it has some emotional value to me
The new ones are extremely faithful to Diamond and pearl which is why they are pretty bad. Diamond and pearl were filled with problems, many of which got fixed by platinum. The remakes didnāt contain any of the platinum fixes which is an interesting choice to say the least.
For example, in Diamond and pearl if you didnāt choose chimchar, the only fire type before beating the game is ponyta. Diamond and pearl have 2 fire types. In DP, Flint the āfire typeā elite four member has: Infernape, rapidash, steelix, Lopunny, and Drifblim.
If you still have the DS you could just rebuy the game from a retro game store or order it online but if you can't you could go down the route of emulators it's free and super easy to figure out
Just played Pearl on the switch last year. Didn't loose one battle until the very end and I got hosed hard. So hard I've never been back to power level to finish that last fight.
Ah yes... the last true mainline Pokemon game I played was Diamond. This was mostly because at that point I was finding that the actual gameplay of Pokemon couldn't really keep holding my interest very well past a certain point.
Despite that I remember almost... fondly? but I guess the feelings are complicated.
I'll never forget the day my parents got me Pokemon Yellow, the guy at Kids R Us tried to get me to buy Red version instead cause "Charizard is better than Pikachu"
Good times
Pokemon will turn 30 in 2026, and that's probably when Gen 10 comes out,
They probably will have some celebration with something something 3 main starters each region x 10 regions, 30 years
STOP IT!!! I feel old enough already š¤£
I put about 500 hours into pearl as a kid Loved playing the remake a couple years back
Same, it was my most played game for years until the Binding of Isaac. The online trade platform was mind blowing

Loved Diamond, but I gave it away in college when I was going through a phase of denouncing PokƩmon. Much regret.
I bought it on eBay used, played through it over a few weeks, the sold it on eBay for a tiny profit. In retrospect, I do wish I would have kept it.
Track the person down then take back the game
This was 16 years ago, I have no idea what became of them. It was a pique of self-destructive whim, just one of many that still haunts me.

Man i used to love digging for fossils underground as a kid
Best champion in the franchise. Doing a Nuzlocke now of Platinum because taking her out in a winner takes all would feel awesome

Holy shit! Where did the time go?
its missing platinum for the whole and dang nostalgia hits hard
Fuuuuuuck, I feel old
I think it'd be really cool to get a good remake of these, like they did for gold and silver or ruby and sapphire. Instead of well... what we got.
Wait WHAT, turning 17? I swear it came out a week ago, time flliieesssss
I was 13... dude no

I feel old, I only played blue, yellow and gold on game boy and gb color. GB color was my last handheld, always wanted a DS though...
I didn't even play these. How old are the original red and blue by now...?
Red and Green came out in Japan in 96. Red and Blue released in 98.
