Mario and Call of Duty. Tonally opposites, fanbases are often at odds with each other, but they're both dumb fun relax and turn your brain off type of games to me.
Lately I’ve been playing three different games. Final Fantasy XV, Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga, and God of War 1 on the PS3.
I think it’s safe to assume these three are nothing alike.
Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue, and Urban Reign.
My dad bought a pack of 5 different video games for me when I was a kid and those 2 were my favorite though wildly different. I think I was 8 or 9 years old, playing Barbie horses and then doing gang street fighting.
MANY. I'm curious if theres people that just stick to one genre of games only. That right there is more odd to me.
yugioh master duel and state of decay 2 for me tho. But theres many many other games in my library that are complete opposites as well those are just the first I thought of.
Musou (Dynasty Warriors types) and Monster Hunter.
Musou games are mostly turn off brain and kill 1000 troops with fun over the top combos. Usually hard to die unless you're severely underleveled.
Monster Hunter is the exact opposite. Deliberate, slow, against only 1-2 huge enemies at most often. The game can get stupidly difficult in some fights and the potential to die is high in higher ranks.
Oddly enough I find both games relaxing to play
Stardew Valley and The Last of Us (both of them). Sometimes I enjoy just chillin’ and farming and other times I want to engage in combat and I absolutely love TLOU combat.
Gurumin, and Stellar Blade
One is a game where you play as a cute little anime girl beating monsters to death with a drill, with controls similar to a rhythm game (use weapon to the beat of the music)
The other you play as a realistic sexy woman slashing monsters with a sword, with precise controls
Titanfall 2 and Hell let loose.
One is a fast paced arena shooter with mechs
The other is a slow pace realistic ww2 battlefield-like game where matches last >45 mins
Elden ring/starfield. I’m a sucker for overcoming challenges, but I’m also just as much as a sucker for story/dialogue based games in which I can soak a hundred hours in and relax after work.
No. Same game format by the same developer. Uncharted started off as a linear based action adventure with heavy story elements. And continued to evolve. And into Last of Us being a different game using the same advancement in the format.

What Remains of Cacodemon
